The host was extremely welcoming and made the booking and check in process very simple. The cabin was beautiful and was packed with all of the creature comforts to make it feel like home. The cabin is secluded enough to enjoy a quiet cup of coffee on the wrap around porch but very close to town for restaurant and shopping activities. The gas fireplace, fast wifi, and pet friendly nature of the property make it an easy choice and somewhere we would certainly stay again.

We enjoyed the outside deck the most on this trip. Thanks for allowing dogs, and for having a gate on the deck so she could hang out there with us safely. Lots of great hiking in the area, we went to Mt. Jefferson twice, as well as Paddy Mountain and New River State Park.

Great place to stay.

The home was clean and welcoming. Excellent location to explore West Jefferson. Close to grocery store. Just down the road from Mount Jefferson, where my husband took our dog hiking every day. Would definitely return.

Great Escape- really perfect!

Home was in a great location close to town. We even had a little snow which we really liked. Everything was clean and kitchen fully stocked. Will definitely come back!

Great Family Weekend at App State Students

We had a wonderful stay this weekend with our two girls who attend App State. Only 30 minutes to Boone and away from all the traffic! The cabin is beautiful and very relaxing. A great time spent with our girls where we could make them a home cooked meal and relax on the porch with the fire pit.

Amazing Experience

The cabin is close to town for any last minute needs as well as near great mountain trails. My daughter loved the hiking. The cabin was spectacular. We will be coming back in the future.

Great cabin close to everything!

Hubby and I needed to get away…booked this cabin last minute. Devon was immediately responsive!! Easy to get to. Bed was comfy, kitchen was the best stocked kitchen of any cabin we have stayed in. Only a mile from the Mount Jefferson Natural Park which was amazing ! Highly recommend!

A breath of fresh air

We had a wonderful time this weekend with family at your cabin. This is our second stay and we can not thank you enough. It was just what the Dr ordered for all of us. A peaceful, beautiful cabin in a gorgeous location! Close to downtown West Jefferson and Boone. Our girls go to App and it is the perfect location to be away from the Boone traffic but an easy drive to get to campus. Thank you again for sharing your home with us.

Comfortable Cabin Retreat

My family and I decided to take a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of our daily lives and travel up to the mountains. We loved everything about our stay. The cabin was well decorated, comfortable and had everything we needed while we were there. The owners were super responsive, kind and helpful. The cabin was conveniently located to grocery stores as well as restaurants and cute shops. Although the cabin is not in the middle of the woods we did not even notice the neighbors (we never heard them or saw them). We brought our pup and she loved the gated deck, the stream behind the house, the neighborhood loop and the state park up the road. I highly recommend staying here on your next visit to West Jefferson.

Ladies weekend

We were a party of four ladies ranging in age of 47-70. The house was very comfortable during our stay and we felt very safe in the community & is close to shopping & downtown. One evening we saw deer crossing through the property after a light rain began to fall. It was a great weekend with family & friends and I would highly recommend this property to others. Check in was easy. Driveway is paved & the entrance to the home is level with easy access for those that may have some physical limitations. Check this one out!

Nice getaway

We were not able to take a family vacation during the summer, so we were hoping to enjoy a few days in the mountains in early fall. There were several pluses: the cabin is cute, adequate heating and lighting, items worked, property in good condition, my two children loved exploring the yard, my son experienced a herd of deer that passed closely by, very convenient to West Jefferson, and a nice large screen television. I was disappointed in the following property items: the upstairs queen bedroom is a loft without a door (no true privacy for parents with children), there was not a separate shower upstairs in the bathroom, (although listed in the description), and there were numerous items missing that I needed in the kitchen, (such as a tea pitcher with lid, a meat thermometer, a funnel, a thin/flat spatula that would work with flipping pancakes, and a soup ladle. I have not rented a place without a DVD player, so I was surprised there wasn't one. One was not listed, so I had just assumed incorrectly. Helpful hints: if staying upstairs in the colder months, turn the thermostat down to 66 degrees or so before going to bed, or the upstairs bedroom/loft can get very hot because of the rising air and no wall/division to block it. Watch your pet carefully. There was a golden retriever living down the hill that the owners let loose occasionally, and it ended up at our vehicle in the driveway. Also, watch for doggie presents potentially from same dog. For the coffee drinkers, the pictures showed a 12 cup drip coffee maker, so we brought ground coffee and filters. There is now a Keurig, so we had to make a trip to purchase k-cups.

Thanks for your review, Trish! A couple of things if you choose to stay with us again (also, we’re continuously improving so thanks for the feedback). There is a handheld shower head in the bathroom upstairs. We have two little kids and they love it! The drip coffee maker is in a lower cabinet and we provide K Cups in the closet for your use - I’m happy to reimburse you for the K Cups. We just replaced most items in the kitchen (dishes, pots and pans, utensils, etc) so we will be sure to add a few more necessities. If you do choose to stay with us again, please feel free to reach out via the app for anything that isn’t up-to-par for your stay!!
