Cute cabin in northern Minnesota, 2 hours north of the Twin Cities, which is located on a quiet channel connected to Lake Minnewawa and Horseshoe Lake. The cabin is winterized and ready for ice fishing on multiple lakes in the area like Minnewawa, Round, Horseshoe and Big Sandy. Bring your snowmobiles and ride the multiple trails. When finished for the day, park them in a 2 stall garage. If you’re into snowshoeing or cross country skiing there are trails as well. Please come see the beauty of winter and stay in our quaint cabin. We have a local grocery store , hardware, bakery , coffee shop and multiple eating establishments. We look forward to you staying with us.

Relaxing Getaway!

This cabin has everything you need to get away and spend time on the lake, take outdoor walks, or to just stay inside and play games. The kitchen has everything you need if you feel like cooking but there are also many great options close by for eating out. We felt welcomed by the owners and well taken care of throughout our stay!

We had the BEST week in McGregor! Very cute cabin in a great, quiet location. Janet and Jeff were wonderful hosts!! The cabin had everything we could have ever needed - indoor and outdoor games, firewood, s’mores sticks, dog towels, and more! Plus the availability of the pontoon was the icing on top! Highly recommend - we’re hoping to be back next year!

This is the second time staying in this house. The amenities are great, and having a boat as part of the stay is wonderful. While not directly on the lake, the slough leading from the lake to the house is relatively short, and the house still has great views. Well stocked with all you need, just add groceries and cheer. We will stay here again!

Minnewawa Family Vacation

Great experience for our family to get on the water with access to multiple lakes via channel. Pontoon included and spacious cabin. Very responsive and supportive hosts.

Communication was great! Property is even more beautiful in person! Very large yard, easy lake access, and the pontoon is a great addition! Everything about it was wonderful!

Wonderful Property/Responsive Hosts

We stayed late October. The property was well maintained and settled in an area where the colors are gorgeous! Hosts are very thoughtful in their hospitality and absolutely responsive. The property is also quiet, our poodle loved being able to roam on our walks w/o fear of speeding traffic!

Perfect Weekend

We had a great fishing weekend. We split out time between Lake Minnewawa on the pontoon and Big Sandy on our own boat. We cooked great Walleye dinners and enjoyed the perfect fishing cabin.

Perfect Cabin!

The hosts were great! The cabin is very clean and has all amenities! It’s in a beautiful and quiet location. The beds were comfortable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Janet assisted us with her knowledge about the lake and even brought us chairs to use at the sandbar! We will hope to be back again! Thank you so much! Kathy & Cy

Family Wedding

The property was very clean, tidy, and comfortable. Great neighborhood and very peaceful area. We did not have time to take advantage of the Pontoon, but what a great amenity to come with the property. Welcome snacks were very much appreciated as well! Jeff was very accommodating and made himself available. We highly recommend the property.

Awesome!

We had a great time! I wish I could give a higher rating then five stars. Jeff was great with communication and the property was perfect. If you are looking for a great place to stay on a relatively quiet lake, this is the spot! The cabin is fully stocked with everything you could ask for. We will be back again and hopefully going to try some ice fishing next time around.

Wonderful Fishing Trip

Jeff was very friendly, helpful, and easy to get hold of. The house and property was well maintained. Very comfortable and clean. Everything that you could need was all right there. The pontoon was an extra benefit that is hard to find in a lot of house rentals. We caught and ate a lot of fish (sunfish, pike, and crappie). Would definitely stay here again!

Great Place to Fish and Revitalize

We loved the house. Small and comfortable, very clean, and nice beds. While the pontoon looks well used, it was equipped, reliable and fun, and a pontoon is an amenity that is rare, We caught many sunfish every afternoon right around the corner from the house. The owners were good at communicating, available and documented the rules and processes of the house very well. We had a great time and would rent there again, thanks to the owners for hosting us.

Great little cabin if you don't have to be on the lake

Just a fantastic little cabin. Kitchen is older but very nice. Bedrooms are nice. Bathroom is nice. I have some physical challanges and the tub is older and a very high step to get into. But all is kept clean and in very nice condition. Location is very good. It is on a water channel that leads to the lake. Used it for a snowmobiling trip so driveway could have been plowed out as wide as the garage, but we got the trailer through. Just nothing to say bad about it. I would definitely stay again.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Loved it!

What an excellent experience for my first time using Vrbo! My husband and I just returned from a week at this property and it was absolutely fantastic. Cabin was incredibly clean, comfortable, quiet, and spacious. We were there with my parents and our 70 lb lab mix. Beds were comfortable. Living area was much larger than expected for a pleasant surprise. Amenities were substantial, pontoon was an added bonus and worked great. We spent a large majority of our time on the water and in the back yard. My family has rented many cabins over the years and this was hands down our best experience. And the hosts, Jeff and Janet, are absolute gems. They are extremely helpful and genuinely kind people. They are nearby and ready to answer any questions you may have but also truly respect your privacy. They truly love their property and it shows. Could not ask for a better week/experience and will definitely be back in the future. Loved it!
