This property should be removed from Vrbo’s listings. As other reviews have stated, the rental is filthy, full of broken furniture/appliances, and has several unsafe areas. We spent the first day and a half of our stay, cleaning the place. It is clear that this property has not been inspected or maintained for cleanliness in a long time. This is not the result of one careless guest. This is complete neglect.The home has cobwebs, stuck on grease, dirt buildup, bugs, and mold in multiple areas. The front entrance porch is unstable, the doorknob was broken (as was the back sliding basement style door), and the kitchen and bathrooms were in unacceptable condition. The shower curtains had pink slime growing along the bottom. The sheets and mattresses were worn, stained, and covered with hair.Also, the decks and lake walk up were covered in wet leaves, uneven landings, and unstable wood planks. The listing photos are extremely misleading. There were exposed rusty nails, grime filled window sills, and garbage cans with bugs in them. The basement “bedroom” does not have an exit window, but a fake window with a towel as a curtain. I will be following up with Vrbo because no one should be staying here. This is the worst place we’ve booked. We were stuck here because there were no available bookings due to the holiday. If we were not so far from home, we would have left immediately! We have pictures and videos to validate this review. It feels like we were scammed.
