Great view and location

Our family was in town for a memorial service. The house provided a great place to relax after the events and be a family. The main family room is a perfect spot to relax and enjoy an amazing view.

Beautiful Home, Thoughtful Owners, and a Fantastic Stay

This was my first time personally booking a VRBO, and I couldnā€™t have asked for a better experience. The home itself is absolutely beautiful ā€” thoughtfully designed, very comfortable, and you can tell how much care has gone into maintaining it. The owners were wonderful to work with ā€” very responsive, helpful, and provided clear instructions that made everything so easy from start to finish. Although we had a busy weekend with early mornings and late nights away from the home, it was the perfect place to relax and unwind in between. We were truly grateful for the opportunity to stay, and would absolutely return again!

Great view with lots of amenities!

We stayed at this home over the Thanksgiving holiday and hosted our family meal here. The homeā€™s layout was ideal for entertaining and the kitchen had the space and amenities to prepare our meal. The view is stunning and the fireplace added to the warm ambiance. Communication with the host was great!

River stay

Overall a great stay vs hotel. There were a few minor details like a new coffee maker and clean up of the front landscape that needed attention. The manager was receptive to our input and I'm sure all will be 100% for the next visitors.

Exactly what we we're looking for

The house and outdoor property was incredible and served our needs exactly. We used the location to film a video study and house the talent and everything was incredible. Clean, accurate listing, and quick responses from Adam the property manager made for a great experience. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to stay in the Alto area.

Fabulous house!

This is a beautiful home, in a lovely quiet neighborhood. The inside was for the most part, 5 stars. A bit morę attention to kitchen items would be welcome, like wine glasses, and a couple maintenance items need attention (master bath outlet safety), but honestly, a lovely home inside. Great possibility as things settle in.We would have loved the outside maintenance to have matched the inside. It has a lovely deck and great possibility - just needs a little TLC outside. Overall we recommend and would book again.Good communication from owner.

Breathtaking view!

The home was in a wonderful location just south of Grand Rapids. The views were breathtaking and provided a sense of serenity and calmness when ion the patio looking over the river. The home had plenty of room for our family members (5 adults and one child) and the layout was spacious enough for everyone to have their privacy. Adam was a great host and was easy to communicate with.

Great Spot!

This was a quick trip but we would like to return and stay again. We really enjoyed the property, very quiet and serene. We had deer visit the first day. One comment for improvement - the listing said check out was 11am but the owner asked us to be out by 10 because they had another tenant arriving the day of our departure. Not a huge deal because we left super early - but if I had planned to be there until advertised check out time, it may have been an issue.

Beautiful house on the Thorneapple River, proximity to Grand Rapids

Great house for a couple of buddies on a golf trip to the area. Adam was extremely responsive to any outreach and otherwise things were as advertised and what we were looking for in a house for this trip. The house was a bit further from downtown Grand Rapids than I realized, but it wasnā€™t a big deal. There was some significant nearby construction during our visit that made it difficult for any Uber or taxi to reach the house. Just a short term inconvenience and nothing the property owner could do anything about. Would stay here again if we were in the area.

Very nice but improvements needed

Adorable, however, the upstairs office should be moved downstairs and that room should be a bedroom. It was a little strange to have 1 bath & 2 bedrooms down. 1 bedroom didnā€™t have a closet nor did it have a solid door for privacy. The ā€œofficeā€ upstairs had a connected bathroom & closets. However the shower did not work in that bathroom. We specifically chose this location for the 3 beds & 3 baths for 3 couples. The glassware needs to be replaced as itā€™s so etched it looks dirty. It was definitely a beautiful view!

Picturesque Chalet With Scenic River Views

This is a beautiful, bright, airy home in a charming neighborhood offering a good amount of privacy. The hosts were communicative and responsive when needed. There is ample space for everyone in the family and a wonderful outdoor space to enjoy meals and views of the river. While the great room and outdoor patio are the stars of the property, the main bedroom suite is also a standout. It is important to note that you enter the house through the garage and there is a strong smell that is indicative of pets being in there. However, this smell is isolated to the garage and does not make it's way into the rest of the house at all. Another point to be aware of is the fact that the property has hard water and it tends to leave water stains on the dishware. The hosts were very quick to provide brand new dishes when I mentioned this issue. I would happily stay in this property again.

This home is located in a beautiful community, and the Online listing photos are accurate. It is a great location if you are going to be doing sightseeing in several areas in southern Michigan. There is easy access to Grand Rapids, Holland, and is even relatively close to Ann Arbor, Battle Creek, and Lansing. The house has two downstairs bedrooms and one full bath, and two upstairs bedrooms with two full baths. This was super convenient when we were all getting ready to attend a wedding. Directions on how to operate the controls for the ceiling fan, TV, etc. were sent in advance and very thorough. We enjoyed our stay, and would highly recommend!
