Lake front home with a million dollar view

Peace and tranquility with the the best views you can imagine. Nightly sunset while sitting at the fire pit at the edge of land and water. A dock that you can hang out on or bring your own watercraft and dock it there during your stay. The Marina that has tons of great amenities is a 3 minute boat or car ride away but it’s tucked away as to not distract your view. They call this area big water and you can see why from the pictures. 2 small cities within 15 minutes that have all the things you need but you wouldn’t know it from the peaceful setting that this place gives you. That is why we call this it Hartwell Hideaway. Also includes a full walk out basement suite that comes with a full kitchen, dining room area big enough for your family, and a family room with a view. Washer and dryer for your convenience and some lake toys as well. Come see why this is our happy place.

Six bedrooms worked for our family, plus 41/2 baths walkway to the lake is fabulous. Loved the 2 kitchens. All kids and grands loved it. Dock was great. Highly recommend.

We had a great time. The house is big and comfortable. The views of the lake are stunning. We rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed the lake. I saw a hummingbird for the first time in my life. The owner is super nice and responsive. I highly recommend this property!

Beautiful Setting and Comfortable Home

This is a wonderful house for a large group. Beds are comfortable, kitchens are well-stocked, plenty of good seating. The sunset over the lake is spectacular, and we had fun around the firepit. Host was generous and communicative. Highly recommend!

Family gathering on Lake Hartwell

Increíble home with excellent accommodations. The owner was very communicative, which put me at ease as this was my first time using VRBO. We had a great time and I highly recommend this property.

Wonderful lake vacation!

We just completed a wonderful stay the last week of July 2025. It was a wonderful home in a wonderful location with such great lake and water access! The listing photos and descriptions were accurate, and the home had more than enough space for 3 families and a total of 10 children. Having two kitchens with two refrigerators allowed us not have to grocery shop every other day. Ample outdoor seating on a beautiful decking system…same for the fire pit area too. The access to kayaks was a nice bonus. Would highly recommend this home, and we are already planning a return visit!

Even though the weather wasn’t perfect Labor Day weekend the house was! Very clean and had everything you needed. Definitely recommend it!

Amazing home for large family gathering

We absolutely loved this home for our family vacation. We had grandparents, aunts/uncles, and cousins. There are plenty of rooms and space to spread out. The walk down to the lake is easy to access. The home has everything you could need and is very clean. We hope to come back to this house again.

Nice property with lots of room

Stayed of Memorial Day weekend and enjoyed a peaceful setting with extended family celebrating graduations of 3 of our family! weather was the only issue but got a great day Monday! The property was great for a big group with lots of different spaces for family to spread out and great places to all come together.

Christmas/New Year's Gathering

The property was better than the pictures showed. Plenty of space for our large group. Great indoor space for kids and very nice space outdoors for games. House and property very clean and well maintained. There were 15 of us and everyone had a bed.

Perfect place to gather with friends

We stayed for a week in July with three families (friends from graduate school at Clemson). The house was very clean and spacious (two full kitchens!) with a beautiful view of the lake. We used the kayaks, fire pit to make smores, and chairs on the deck. The owner was very responsive when I had a question at check-in. 10/10 recommend!

Wedding weekend

My son was getting married, and it was so important to me to find a home that could accommodate all of our out-of-town family members so we could share this special time together. This house turned out to be absolutely perfect for us. The owner was incredibly kind and attentive, answering all of my questions, both before and during our stay, with such thoughtfulness and speed. I truly could not have asked for a better experience during this meaningful occasion. Thank you for everything, and I would wholeheartedly choose to stay here again.

Nice place

A beautiful new home with a gorgeous view of the best sunset I have ever seen. My only suggestion would be to have more kitchen utensils and pot holders for cooking.

This will be our new annual Vacation Spot

This is an absolutely gorgeous property! The home is new, and so are all of the furnishings inside. Wooded views of Lake Hartwell. So spacious, with the deck of the back of home to watch the sunrise with morning coffee and a fire pit to round out the night watching the sunset. We had a great time hanging out in the water off the dock and were able to play family games (nice touch) that were on site. We had so much fun here, so peaceful, the perfect getaway. We have already booked our next visit - this will definitely be our new vacation destination every summer!

Perfect Friends Weekend

This property is pristine, very roomy and boasts a killer view off the back deck. We rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed hanging out on the doc. Absolutely loved the firepit and party lights, we made a fire every evening. Very convenient having two kitchens. There were six of us 50 somethings, but you could have a lot more people and still be comfortable. Bruce was especially nice, very easy to work with, this place is a winner.

Quiet Retreat with Gorgeous Sunset

We absolutely loved the layout of this home. And 4 full baths. There was plenty of privacy as well as plenty of area to spread out and relax. 2 Full kitchens. The extra fridge/freezer came in very handy. Beautiful deck out back to enjoy morning coffee and then watch the gorgeous sunset every evening. Plenty of wildlife to enjoy. This home sits near the lower end of the lake so most days there was not alot of boat traffic. So it was relatively quite. We did enjoy some live music that could be heard from the marina around the corner. This home is perfect for large group. You will not be disappointed.

Better than 5 stars!

We had four families gather from Sedona, Florida and Michigan to see our mom in South Carolina to celebrate Thanksgiving. It was a spectacular stay. The Hartwell Hideaway has a ton of space with two complete gathering areas, two complete kitchens and lots of beds for the 12 of us. The views of the sunset off the deck were amazing and the nice cement walk way down to the lake allowed even our 95 year old mom to make her way to the beach. :). We did family photos with the scenery in the backyard and played several games of corn hole. We enjoyed games, movies and tons of food! The inside was newly remodeled and exceptionally clean. The amenities were amazing. The only two improvements we would suggest would have been a bed side lamp or two for night time reading and allowing us to use life jackets as we would not allow the teens in the kayaks without life jackets. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

You can’t beat this location. Peaceful, beautiful, and full of amenities. The Marina is close enough to provide all the awesome amenities like boat rental, restaurant, and even live music while situated so that it is not a distraction from the beauty and peacefulness. Great island behind us has an awesome sand bar. Sunsets every night are majestic.
