Mindful Cottage with peek Ocean Views

Enjoy a relaxing stay in the stylish Mindfull Cottage. Centrally located in Del Mar, within walking distance to the beach and village. Easy access to the freeway. Peek views from the balcony patio or steps down the alley lead you to panoramic views of the ocean.
Beautifully furnished and well outfitted for your getaway!
Suitable for 2 guests (+ an infant).

This 2 story unit is quite unique in it`s tucked away fashion. Sleeping arrangement is on the entry level along with the bathroom, upstairs is living space. This living room, kitchen is flooded with natural light, has a peek ocean view and wonderful patio to enjoy coffee/drinks/sunset viewing. If you are inclined to walk 3 doors down, you can sit on the sea wall and enjoy a full ocean view. The Mindful Cottage is a cozy and relaxing spot to get away from it all.

You will have full and private use of the guest cottage and upstairs patio. Grassy area in front is for your enjoyment as well.
Dedicated parking on the driveway.
Garage (no parking) is shared with the main house for beach gear and trash. Laundry in garage is for your use only.

on the north end of Del Mar, close to Torrey Pines State Beach and 1/2 mile to village of Del Mar. Quaint and quite.

Walking to town and beach is about 1/2 mile. Most of San Diegos attractions require a car.

This is a guest cottage in the rear of a main home. The two properties are not connected. You will enter from the alley (main house enters off of 9th Street). The only interaction you may encounter is when they cross the lawn to empty trash or get beach gear. All their living and outdoor space faces 9th Street.

VRBO bookings are not eligable for the credit card processing fee to be refunded if reservation is cancelled (this includes reservations within the cancellation period)

Mindful Cottage is the most charming property! The care and attention to detail — in every space — is obvious from the minute you open the door. The photos are a perfect reflection of the cottage coziness and warmth. The ocean view terrace is a spectacular spot for morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset. The location is also phenomenal, just a few houses off the ocean in a legendary Del Mar neighborhood. Walkable to absolutely everything — shops, restaurants, two parks and the famous Del Mar beach. Gina made check in and check out easy and seamless. In three words: we’ll be back! (Thanks, Gina!)

The Mindful Cottage was perfect for two seniors visiting for a wedding. Love the short walk to the bluff, watching the sun drop in the evening! The cottage was very well equipped. Only negatives were fairly uncomfortable chairs and sofa (although we were generally on the go anyway!) and the flickering LED lights, which I believe could be easily remedied by replacing the dimmer switches with dimmers designed for use with LED lights. All things considered, we wouldn't hesitate to seek out this rental again!

The place is perfect for going to the beach all day every day. You can drink your coffee on the balcony to the sound of the waves with a gorgeous view. The main strip starts a 2 minute walk away with dozens of cute restaurants which were all good. But the show stopper is that everything you need to set up camp at the beach is in the garage including a wagon to haul it all about 10 minutes to the main beach and park. We had a great vacation.

Lovely neighborhood gem

Exactly as pictured. 15 minute easy walk to one of the best beaches (Powerhouse beach, next to Jakes Del Mar). Easy walk to numerous great restaurants.

Mindful Cottage Relaxation

The cottage was cute and cozy. The location is awesome and well within walking distance of the beach and restaurants in Del Mar. To hear the waves in the distance was a huge plus. We would stay at the Cottage again.

Best in North County

As a former north county San Diego resident, I come back “home” as often as I can. My husband and I have stayed in many different set ups over the years, but this cottage is by far our favorite of them all! You can’t beat the location or the accommodations. It felt like home from the moment we walked through the door. Gina is fantastic and makes herself available to her guests. We’ll be staying here on all our future trips!

Best location ever

We had a terrific month in Del Mar here. We loved the location which allowed us -- in about 30 seconds-- to get to the bluffs/path overlooking the ocean -- a gorgeous walk, morning, noon, or night. Easy, fun walk into town for restaurants. A really quiet neighborhood where most folks walk. Lots of light with windows all around, all could be opened for fresh air and cross breezes as needed. Gina got back right away when we had a question. My only comment is that if you like to cook/eat in a lot during your stay vs. go out to dinner, the kitchen is quite basic with its tools and serving dishes.

Spend MORE time here!

We booked here thinking it would be a nice place to get ready and recover from a show at the nearby concert venue, The Sound (that was a decent+ site), but upon arrival we wished we had booked more time there. Everything in the house is as described, and the manager has thought of every extra you might need. The bed is comfortable (though I would have liked a second TV in the bedroom), and the living room being entirely separate upstairs made it a mindful space, indeed. For resting my mind in any case. The porch has the view described, though why the property owners don't, or didn't in our case, have the gardener cut the the trees between the next house just a bit more so you can actually see the ocean is so confusing as to suggest maybe they cannot cut it or round the edge or something? It was helpful to have laundry machines available, loads of beach equipment -- the beach trail along the cliff side is nice. There's a train frequently in the day time, but it must not run at night, as we couldn't hear it. All of our questions were answered, but we had complete privacy. The kitchen was stocked for cooking, everything smelled fresh, and the cleaning is certainly mindful as well (not a hint of anyone else having been there). So, book this place with confidence that what you see is what you get -- and more -- with great help from Gina (?) the property manager.

Great cottage near everything in Del Mar!

Beautiful, well equipped cottage on the bluffs above the beach and easy walking distance to downtown Del Mar. Very quiet home with private entrance and easy parking. We were able to walk to all our various functions in Del Mar as well as the primary beach without a concern. The train nearby was careful not to sound its horn in the residential neighborhood.

Amazing property/location/communication

Everything was excellent about our stay! The property is beautifully decorated and very comfortable, from the towels, bedding, to the cozy spaces. Gina was easy to work with and very communicative. The location is walkable to the beach and Del Mar restaurants/shops and a quick, easy drive to La Jolla or San Diego. We will definitely return!

Fantastic Memorial Day Getaway

This property was perfect. I have been traveling to San Diego for decades and this was the best location I have had the opportunity to stay. I traveled with my 4-year-old son. He loved playing in the front yard, having meals and snacks on the patio, and the bedroom and bath were comfortable too. The location cannot be beat with a very short walk to watch sunsets, about a 15 minute walk to the beaches and a great park, also great access to grocery stores and shopping, as well as the 5. I would highly recommend staying here. We'll certainly be back.

Great Neighborhood Location

We really enjoyed this location, which is in a really quiet neighborhood that's still a relatively short walk to Powerhouse Park and its beach entrance. The 2nd-story balcony is a great place for a couple to relax and enjoy the sound of the waves and peek views of the ocean. Gina was an incredibly responsive and communicative host. We would definitely stay here again.

Small but Livable

Great location three properties from beach, walk to everything. Floor plan a little unusual as bedroom and bath on ground floor. kitchen, DR, LR and deck upstairs. Plenty of light with slight view of water and nice side yard with chairs. Gina was great, our microwave broke, she delivered a new one the next day.
