We loved the size of the condo & the covered balcony. The views of the beach & ocean were amazing. We also appreciated the fact that each bedroom had its own bathrm. Although the door had a combination-type lock that we punched in numbers to open, we had to go by the owners place of business to pick up keys to the deadbolt & then return them before leaving. We locked the deadbolt from inside at night so there was really no need for the key. Also, we couldn’t get any of the televisions to work. We texted the owner who said we needed to “call the company” who would “walk us through it.” I had to contact him again to ask “What company? What is your account info? What other information will they need?” I suggested it would be better if he called them (since it was his set up, his account, his TV’s,etc) & ask them to call me to walk me through it. I had planned to write it down so future visitors would know how to operate his system without having to call anyone.. My experience has been that owners usually provide written instructions for WiFi, passwords, how to operate the TV, play movies, etc. etc. but he responded with his account info. We didn’t call. There were 2 pgs of check-out instructions that contradicted each other.While there were plenty of knives & forks, plates & glasses in the kitchen, there wasn’t a lot to use in food prep/cooking.Thankfully, we brought a blender & supplies for peach daiquiris & were able to overlook these things & enjoy our week!

We had a very nice view from the balcony of the sunrise and the ocean. The location was perfect, right on the beach. Loved the parking garage too.

Great Place for a Family Stay

The property was clean and there are 3 bedrooms with 3 baths. The balcony is larger than most which accommodates a larger group of people whereas most balconies will hold maybe 3 people. Ken was a great host! We needed an extra parking pass and he was kind enough to bring us one, which was very much appreciated. We were there over the 4th of July and it is something everyone should experience once...AMAZING.

We LOVED this condo! It was my husband and I and our teen and toddler, we had more than enough room. The condo is very spacious and everyone got their own bedroom/bathroom/shower which was fantastic. If you’re new to visiting this area, please look at the beach rules. We typically go to OBX where there really aren’t beach rules/enforced but they definitely have rules in Garden City Beach and were on us like hawks in the first day (my husband took a walk on the beach at 7:58 and they left a slip from the police about leaving equipment unattended before 8am). You can only have an umbrella and it has to be in line or behind the paid for “premium” umbrellas so don’t waste your trunk space with your Shibumi or tent and if your family is my size, bring two umbrellas. The beach is not overly crowded at all which is nice - and the paid for umbrella/chairs stayed empty all week (which added to the frustration of the rule). The pool and hot tub in the building this condo is staying fairly empty too. As for the condo, my only suggestion would be a complete overhaul of the dishes. There were dead bugs under some dishes and we basically just washed everything prior to using because we didn’t trust if anything had been washed recently. All in all, we were very happy with the condo and if we could have picked it up and put it 200 yards away into Surfside beach with less regulations, we’d have called the week perfection.

A little 90s vibe

Excellent location with a spectacular view. Wow, everything in the condo was fine, the furniture and kitchen could use some updating. Toaster didn’t work and disposal didn’t work even though we tried resetting per host instructions. Not big problems. We luckily missed bike week. Lots of complaints about noise and congestion the week before ours. OverallWe had a wonderful week at the beach.

Should have been better for the price

We stayed in this unit the last 2 weeks in March. We were very happy with the location and the view is great however we were very disappointed in the condition of the unit when we arrived. I contacted the property manager and he explained that it was last cleaned in November prior to a couple arriving that ended up not coming so it hadn't been cleaned since. Some of the things we found were not a result of it just not being cleaned for 4 months. The unit just wasn't cleaned properly at all. It should have been checked and freshened up prior to our arrival. I gave the manager a chance to respond to the following items before I posted this but he did not respond so here's the list:We found a cockroach in the cupboard amongst the drinking glasses.The mess of wires and cables under tv is very unsightly and the stand is ready to collapseFilthy chairs on balconyShower had black mold around bottomShower door in the master feels like it's going to fall offBatteries in the thermostat were deadNo mop available for touch-upTable was dirty with greasy handprintsThe hallway ceiling light doesn't work. Can't see the washer and dryer very well when using them.Night light bulbs were blown.Dusty, dirty floorsShower in master dirty, black mildew around bottomWe borrowed a mop from my sister-in-law so we could mop up something that looked like spilled milk.There's more but you get the picture. For the price all of this should have been checked and addressed prior to our arrival.

Wonderful views

The views were awesome! The beds were very comfortable. Internet handled all our streaming needs. The kitchen had plenty of most items but was lacking tall glasses. The measuring spoon and cup sets were not complete so we left the sets we bought. The patio door in the bedroom is not airtight making that room susceptible to noises like the trash truck. Overall we loved our visit.

DELIGHTFUL VACATION

Two of our group had never been to the beach. This condo was perfect for beach lovers - especially new beach lovers. The balcony was the perfect height for enjoying the ocean during beach breaks. This building had very simple, quick access to the beach. This condo was quite luxurious. The kitchen was easy and efficient to use. A bathroom for each bedroom was wonderful. We used the washer/dryer every day. A beautifully decorated, clean condo is important to me and this condo was both. I highly recommend this VRBO.

Excellent vacation week

We were impressed as soon as we walked into the condo by how clean it was. The carpets had been freshly shampooed and everything was spotless. Having a one year old with us that is crawling, we were not hesitant at all to put her down to crawl. The property owner was quick to respond to any questions that I had. Looking forward to staying again.

A great stay!

We had such a wonderful time at this property. Ken was very communicative and responded very quickly to all my silly questions on our road trip down to SC. The condo was very clean and the view was amazing. I would have liked to see some staple items like salt and pepper and an extra garbage bag, but we have been using VRBO for years and I know each property is a little different with what they offer. Overall this condo was perfect for my family, well located and exactly what we expected from the discription. We highly recommend it!

Nice but

Light switches, Omgoodness there seemed to be a million of them. Would have been nice if they were labeled. Washer and dryer, I didn’t know they made stackables with such tiny. Master shower stall leaked and the bedroom with the twin beds needs a new shower head and the carpet looked bad. It was nice all in all.

Great beach vacation!

We wanted to visit the Myrtle Beach area, but didn’t want Myrtle Beach itself. Surfside Beach was a great choice. The condo was great. Very clean and comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Great balcony views. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub out front. Ken was a great host. I would definitely visit this condo again.

Surfmaster Vacation

Overall impression of our stay at Surfmaster, Rm. 414, was great. 4th floor was perfect height. Communication with Property Manager was good. If anything - living room and balcony furniture could use some updating, but it's not horrible. Also, hard to regulate water temperature in master shower. It's either hot or cold, hard to get the temperature in the middle. I really have no major complaints, though. The stay was great. We would stay there again.

AMAZING VIEWS

The view at Surf Master was better than any we've experienced in the Surfside/Garden City area. The location was perfect for our interests (shopping and fishing). It was a short drive to entertainment and great restaurants.

Labor day getaway

Lovely property with fabulous view. Only negative was balcony seating. One of lounge chairs was broken. Could use updating to match updates in condo. Will probably return next year. Overall a great vacation place.
