Our trip started off a bit rocky because we were scheduled to arrive the Monday following hurricane Isias. I reached out in the days leading up to our arrival and was consistently given the runaround whether the property would be accessible due to local power outages. Even though we were able to confirm through local neighborhood friends that the power had been brought on in the neighborhood, we were not provided confirmation that the property would even be accessible until 1 hour before check in, when we showed up at the house and confirmed to the host that the lights were on inside and outside of the home. I do not feel it was our responsibility to verify that the power was indeed on, however that’s what it wound up being. This up in the air type communication left us extremely anxious. While the neighborhood is beautiful, we would highly recommend against booking this home. While there, we experienced several issues that severely impacted our stay. The wood floors were buckled in many areas, which was downright dangerous, the clothing wash machine was not usable due to an incredible amount of mold, and we dealt with our share of cockroaches during our stay. All of these issues were reported to the host, including photos, and ultimately they provided a very small discount which at the end of the day was not sufficient for the issues we dealt with. Overall a terrible experience!
