Enter this home and expect to be amazed by the immense power and beauty of the ocean. This home is the closest you can get to the sandy beach (of all rental homes offered in Bodega Harbour development.) I suggest the first thing you do upon entering this home is recline in one of the down filled lounge chairs that are perched in the front bay window over looking the entire coastline, from Point Reyes to Bodega Head. Close your eyes, take a deep breath, then open your eyes and look out towards the horizon. You will feel as though you are floating on water as you sink deeper into the down filled cushion that is keeping you comfy, while the warmth of the sun shines down upon you. If you are wearing shorts you may just catch a tan (summer or winter). Or possibly you will see the spouts from a migrating whale. This is where the magic of Bodega begins. In fact, you will enjoy ocean views from every room in this comfortable contemporary home. (This home sits on the front side of exclusive Gull Drive loop, you won't be looking over rooftops to an ocean view from this house, all views are unobstructed, just you and the ocean here.) Staying here you will feel like you have spent your entire vacation on the ocean, regardless of whether you actually venture out the front door and put you toes in the sand. The setting is so relaxing that each day will feel as though you have spent three days here.

Consider a personal chef for dinner or create your own meals in the chef kitchen. Cooking or dining, you and your guests can enjoy your meal from the dining room (complete with wood burning fireplace and sitting area) while watching the sun set upon Bodega Head. Watch your family or friends walk on the beach after dinner. Or take them out tide pooling before dessert is served.

The back of the house faces the 9th hole and has a large deck complete with fire pit and lounge chairs. Golfers can play the first 9 holes, step into the house for lunch, refreshments and a visit, and continue on the back 9. The 18 hole Scottish links course has breathtaking views and cannot be missed!

Kids and adults both will enjoy the dining facility and pro shop just steps away from the house at the nearby club house. BEAUTIFUL hiking trails abound! If you are an equestrian, Chancelor Ranch is a short drive once there you and your guests can take a trail ride into the mountains or down to the beach. Kayaking opportunities are endless and guided tours are available nearby. Limo service from Airports and for wine country excursions available upon request. There is much to do if you are interested, or nothing to be done at all, if this is what you prefer. However you choose to relax, Chateau Relax-o lives up to it's name.....just relax.....

Great Location, Well-Kept Home, Lots of Light and Gorgeous Views, Plenty of Space!

This home and Bodega Bay are a great destination for a getaway retreat. There is plenty of space in the house and everything is well maintained. The stereo equipment was not really working but we were fine without. Home owner was always available if we had a question. Our entire group was very happy with this home.

Easy, calm, relaxing, fun

We were fortunate enough to stay at Chateau Relax-o as a family for my dad's 75th birthday. He loved lounging on comfy chairs in the sun, reading a book by the large, ocean-view front windows. I loved preparing dinner for the family on the 6 (8?) burner stove-top, with every kind of pot, pan and utensil I needed. My kids enjoyed "how big and how much stuff they already had there" -- they're talking about the boardgames, movies, books and ping-pong table (naturally!). We all enjoyed watching dolphins play in the ocean and a sunset over the ocean on our first, night and the 5 minute walk to the beach for our morning and evening strolls -- beaches are different during different parts of the day, and we feel like we got to see so much. LIz, our host, was very responsive as our stay approached, and her genuine care for making sure we had a good time was reflected by the home she's created.

Beautiful Home and View - Great Girls weekend

We had 8 women in our 40s meet up at Chateau Relax-O for a girls weekend. The house has amazing views and the rooms are all nice. The best part is the front living room overlooking the ocean. There is a lot of seating so we could all hang out together. A few steps above that is the TV room, also with big comfy sofas. The only thing I would caution is if you plan to sleep on one of the "sleeping mats." I hate sharing a bed so I slept on one the first night but is was really uncomfortable (hard and thin so like sleeping on the floor). As a result, I did share a bed the following night because I wanted to remain in the master bedroom (nicest room). The bed was very comfortable. We hired a private chef to cook for us on Sat. night and that went well. The kitchen had everything we needed but I suggest getting dinner size plates that aren't plastic - it kind of cheapened the private chef experience. Also, note that the BBQ is somewhat small for 8 people (I think 2 burners) so we had to cook our Fri dinner in batches. Overall, we had a great stay and wonderful, relaxing time catching up with one another. That was our main goal and this is a wonderful house for staying in. We visited Sebastapol to check out the local area and soon realized we would have been better off if we hadn't left the house for the day.

Constant view of the ocean!

Beautiful home with gorgeous views of the ocean and sunset from most rooms! Well equipped kitchen. Love the front bay window with 2 chaise! Could sit there in the warm sun all day! Close to trail to the beach! Perfect location!

12th spring vacation on Gull Drive

When our vacation house was cancelled (not once , but twice), I was desperate to find a home for my granddaughters and daughter for spring break. Bruce and Liz came to the rescue with Chateau Relax-O. It was CLEAN, spacious, and comfortable. The girls could walk to the beach or return if the chill got to them. I had a perfect kitchen to prepare meals and we dined gazing at the Pacific. It was a fabulous week! I even got to walk the sand and enjoy watching my boogie boarders catch the waves. The girls used the game room Ping-Pong table and stayed in touch with friends through the wifi. Thank you, Liz, for your hospitality!

Perfect get together house

We all had a fabulous time! what a beautiful, spacious and tranquil house it is. There are multiple decks and sitting areas enough for all eight of us. It has incredible, unobstructed view of the ocean. We loved to sit by the big bay window enjoying the warmth of the sun and watching the birds glide by. The house is super clean with a well-equipped kitchen. Liz gave us great recommendations for hiking trails ( Bodega Head trail and Pinnacle Gulch) and restaurants ( Terrapin Creek and Spud Point Company). Thank you for sharing your house!

Breath taking

Let me start by saying, this home is amazing. It was very clean and was also as beautiful as it looks in the pictures. The views are endless. 2 minute walk to the sand, was the best part. The kitchen was awesome and has everything you need to cook any meal. At low tide there are many things to be found just a few minutes away. The homeowner was always available and made the process very easy. We have stayed in many rental homes on the coast, in many towns. This was one of the best. You will not be let down and we will be back next year.

Beautiful, spacious house with gorgeous views and light

This house is wonderful for families and friends. It's immaculate and spacious, with lots of indoor and outdoor living areas that flow into each other and provide many different places to socialize and relax. There's gorgeous light and uninterrupted views of the beach and sunset. Liz provides wonderfully detailed documents about getting there, checking in, and the furnishings/equipment in the house, so you know exactly what to bring. It's one of the best rentals we've ever experienced.

Perfect location! An amazing property!

The home is comfortable, light and bright! An amazing view of the ocean in pretty much every room in the house. Clean and well stocked. Beds are very comfortable and plenty of room for 2 or more with everyone having plenty of space and privacy when needed. Walking the beach is just beautiful and right out the front door. We also liked to walk the 2+ mile loop around the neighborhood for a more challenging, but just as beautiful walk. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a special but comfortable stay!

Simply Amazing!

We went for a quiet ladies weekend and the amenities did not disappoint. The home is gorgeous, the access to the beach is incredible, the kitchen was perfect for a leisurely dinner while we enjoyed in breathtaking sunset. Just left this home screaming and kicking! Our stay there was WONDERFUL.! Took a group of ladies for a church Woman's Retreat. It was so relaxing and the view is AWSOME. Everything we needed was provided in this house it was well maintained and supper CLEAN. We spent a lot of time just looking out the large windows. The owner Liz was super nice. Our plan is to Retreat there AGAIN NEXT YEAR.

We love the ocean and met on the ocean 20 years ago. Later we purchased this house as a private vacation home for our growing family We've owned the home for 15 years and the house has never been offered for rent before. We use it less now and welcome you to enjoy it as much as we do.The house sits in an idea location, ocean front and a 5 minute walk to the clubhouse where there is fine dining and golf amenities. The golf course is spectacular, with phenomenal views and a challenging course. The back side of the house views the 9th hole so you can stop in the house for lunch before completing the back nine. The front of the house has a 180 degree view of the ocean. You can settle in and read a good book while looking up occasionally to catch a glimpse of a whales spout up off the waters surface or if you are more adventurous kayak out of Tomales Bay and maybe see one up close and personal. Lots of hiking, biking,long walks,diverse trails,bird watching etc... If you ever want to leave the beach it is only a 30 minute car ride to many winery properties and tasting rooms. When you are done with your day you can escape once again to the peace and serenity of this location. The beach is private at our end of Bodega Harbour, so the crowds are non existent. My favorite time of year (other than anytime of year) is in the winter where I relax in the living room bay window area and watch the waves pound the surf during a raging winter storm. Being in Bodega Bay, with all of its micro climates one can easily experience a warm summer like day and a stormy winter day all within a 24 hour time frame in the winter. There's always a good time of year to be here.

This home is located on the oceanfront side of exclusive Gull Drive loop and has 180 degree unobstructed white water views from Point Reyes to Bodega Head. You won't be looking over rooftops to your ocean view from this house. Just staying in the house is a relaxing vacation in itself. But, if you are the adventurous type there is soooo much to do.Hiking,exploring,fishing,kayaking,whale watching,biking,sand dune surfing,etc. Anyone can enjoy staying here age 0 to100!
Serve yourself and guests coffee in the morning and some can sit in the living room (or almost any room) and view the ocean while watching the rest of your party walk out oceanfront and enjoy their beverage with their toes in the sand or white water of the crashing waves! In the evening enjoy the gourmet kitchen and sweeping ocean views from the dining room table while the fire roars (one of 5 fore places in the house) and you and your guest enjoy a glass of wine. Sit peacefully in the library /office and write that great novel that has been calling you. All the while enjoying the sweeping ocean views from your desk.
In the evening enjoy relaxing by one of the many fire places in this house; possibly, after enjoying a relaxing dip in the enormous roman tile tub in the master bedroom. If it is a romantic weekend you are looking for....look no further.....this is your place!
There are private decks off every room in the house and a recreation room on the garage level complete with TV, ping pong table and a miniature kids pool table. And many boogie boards,balls and kites to play with.
