RELAXING, Away-from-it-All home on the water with small Natural Pool

Hale Pali (Cliff House) is a spectacular (non-smoking) OCEANFRONT home overlooking the blue Pacific. We heartily agree with our guests who have enthusiastically stated: 'there is nothing that compares to actually being on the water' - what better way to enjoy the sound of the waves, and the smell of the sea air.

The home is beautifully and tastefully decorated and features teak furniture.

You will love cooking in the fully equipped, Rick Hartman designed, gourmet kitchen.

You can keep cool by taking a dip in our 3,000 gallon 'natural' (unheated) pool or just 'chill' while lounging and sunning yourself on our small private white sand beach, you may also choose to kick back on the lanai in the comfort of our shaded hammock.

If you need to stay connected you can do so via FREE WIFI.

A perfect day begins while sitting on the sea wall, sipping Kona Coffee, and looking out to sea. You will be amazed by the spectacular ā€œblow-holeā€ that adds to the OCEANFRONT splendor of our seaside home.

If you are looking for 'off-the-beaten-path relaxation. We think that the serenity you will find here makes the 45 minute drive south from Kona Village very worthwhile.

To help ensure a comfortable visit we thoroughly clean and sanitize the house between guests.

About the Owners: Carl and Deborah have lived here on the Big Island for more than 40 years and reside on an 8 1/2 acre farm just 15 minutes up the mountainside from the Beach House. They are both retired School Counselors following 30+ year careers, and are San Francisco State Alum who moved to Hawaii from the Bay Area.

Hale Pali has operated continuously since 2006 and Carl & Deb say that their favorite part of owning Hale Pali is meeting guests from all corners of the globe.

This is the perfect place for those who don't want to be around a lot of noisy people. It is a very large home right now the water. The sunsets are spectacular! It was the perfect location to be able to travel to all the renowned beaches (Black Sand, Green Sand, and Pebbles Beach), along with getting to the Volcano National Park within a decent amount of time. The owners are great and very friendly. We are so pleased we got to meet them in person.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The hosts Carl and Deb were easy to communicate with and responsive to questions. We loved how secluded we were and the private water pond is way bigger than the pictures show. This was a really nice feature every morning and every evening. The house is equipped with all you need. Coolers, beach stuff, fully stocked kitchen. Beds and linens super comfy and comes with a whole drawer of sun tan lotion! We will be return guests for sure!

It was a unique stay in a very special house right by the sea. Deborah and Carl are wonderful hosts, and you can tell at all times that they don't just rent out this house, but really take care of it and prepare a special place for their guests.We were here for almost a week and enjoyed our stay to the fullest, from the first view of the sea in the morning to the last sip of wine on the veranda in the evening.We can wholeheartedly recommend the house and were very happy to meet Carl and his wife.

Quiet Sanctuary

Iā€™m always looking for a quiet place to get away from all of todayā€™s modern stress. The house layout is perfect as you can rest inside and still see all the views or relax on the generous lanai. Walk down to view the ocean and schools of fish by the cliff. And best of all enjoy the plunge pool which is bigger than the pictures indicate. Loved our time here. Thank you to Deb and Carl for their hospitality.

Nice home in a very remote location

The House was nice, the views were amazing. The issue we had was the remote location. The nearest market OceanView takes 45 minutes round trip. All attractions are very distant. The property owners are very responsive and kept us informed. In the future I will likely choose Waikoloa side of the island. Overall it was a nice stay. Thank you.

Our family had an amazing stay here, everything about this house is beautiful. If you get the opportunity to meet Carl and Deb, I highly recommend it as they are the warmest, friendliest couple and our evening visiting with them was one of the highlights of our trip.

We loved every minute in this beautiful home. It was clean and comfortable. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need. We did not spend a whole lot of time hanging out inside the house because the lanai was to die for. Beautiful views and amazing sunsets! Nice breezes to keep you comfortable. Our group loved this home and would return in a heartbeat. Mahalo!!!

Beautiful views, amazing Sunsets.

We had a great stay and enjoyed this location and home very much. Super well equipped kitchen. Clean and no bugs in the house. (Bugs are usually a given in Hawaii, but no at Hale Pali!). Lots of spices which was a nice surprise. The ocean breeze was cool and delightful. Comfortable beds and furniture made it easy to relax and enjoy every day, even if we just stayed ā€œhome.ā€. Highly recommended and we will return again someday soon.

Loved it!

We have rented properties around the world and this is a new favorite. Itā€™s out of town, but not so far that you canā€™t easily get to local attractions. Very clean well appointed kitchen and home. The private beach area and pool were fantastic. Very responsive hosts and we highly recommend this home.

Carl and Deb are retired after many years of rewarding work counseling in the Hawaii Island public school system (who ever thought up the idea of RETIREMENT sure knew what they were doing!)
Their residence is an 8 1/2 acre farm just up the mountainside from the beach house. Although the crops are not extensive, Deborah does grow some Kona Coffee.

Meeting fascinating guests from all around the planet is the best part of owning and operating Hale Pali, they say. Please come and join them along the beautiful and peaceful south kona coast.
