This lovely lake home is located in the Mountain View Shores Community near the dam.

The generous bedrooms are beautifully decorated, with the primary bedroom and a guest room located on the main level. The fully equipped kitchen adjoins a sitting area with a sofa bed and opens into the dining/great room area. With its exposed ceiling beams, the great room offers comfortable furnishings for gathering together. The upper deck is accessed from the great room and is partially covered. Enter the screened porch from the kitchen, which has a dining table and chairs, plus a gas grill.

Hours of fun await in the game room/living area on the lower level, with a pool table and a TV. There are two additional bedrooms and an extra sleeping area with bunk beds on the lower level. Top off perfect vacation days in the hot tub, located outside on the lower level deck.

The house was just as roomy as it was advertised. The views from the kitchen, Living room and deck were spectacular. The house was really clean and the kitchen was well stocked

Great lakefront location in a quiet nook of the lake. Not a ton of boat traffic so hanging out by the water and swimming was great! Still easy access out to main part of the lake by boat with a spacious dock to secure a rental boat. There is a decent hill down to the water, not bad, but along the lines of you don't want to forget something from the house and have to run back up. The house itself was great, lots of room. One thing to note is that noise from upstairs travels easily downstairs. Overall we had a great stay and would definitely stay here again!

Peaceful and Beautiful

Beautiful view from the deck, great dock and swimming platform for lots of fun in the water. House was spacious and fun, but I have one suggestion and that is about the spiral staircase. My dog went down the steps and almost slipped through the railings, which wouldā€™ve been a horrible fall for her. If you bring pets or small children just be super careful. Otherwise we had a fabulous time and will be back!

We really enjoyed our stay and spaciousness of the house! The location was great to have some peace and quiet, but also get on on the water! It accommodated everyone in their party and we made a lot of memories.

House was great, very quiet and peaceful.No Complaints, just some maintenance advice to make future guest more comfortable. Main Level Porch, Railing See thru Lexan and all waterfront windows need cleaning and pressure washed. Beautiful View very obstructed by dirty glass.Pool Table needs new felt (ripped), cue balls(chunks)and sticks(broken tips).Also gutter on right side front coming loose from facia. Donā€™t get me wrong, property was awesome thoroughly enjoyed. Just trying to leave constructive feedback. Thanks,The Sanders

Nice, overall

Nice stay overall. Pool table is definitely well-worn and used-looking, but still fun. Dusty windows and ceiling fans and other areas, but deceivingly large property. Waterfront is a very nice bonus.

Home was very accommodating. Great dock great location on lake. Although a far steep walk for anyone who has issues. Although it had issues as far as the state of the furniture being well worn and the sofa falling apart when sitting on it because the last repair gave out. Owner should invest in updated safe furniture for what you pay for weekly rate. Vacasa was prompt in coming to repair any problems like the sofa, including all the insects that get in because house is not sealed or insulated properly. Again vacasa came and sprayed while we were there thankfully. But you can hear everything from one floor to the next. We also bought and left some utensils because only set of 5 was there but plenty of other kitchen gadgets available. Spacious and plenty of linens for your stay with washer and dryer. Great place for a family vacation.

The Main House - Huddleston, Va.

We thoroughly enjoyed this property. The home is spacious and beautifully situated with great views of the cove that it is situated upon. As a rental it was what one would probably expect but with a Few Closer attentions to detail by the maintenance/cleaning team members this site could be 5 star. We understand that some renters may be highly disrespectful or uncaring and treat their host dwelling as such. This is unfortunate. The home is a wonderful site for a relaxing and beautiful get away. The swim platform and boat dock were great and provided a great launching place for our kayaks. We do plan to return and will bring our boat on our next trip. Neighbor Ron was so nice and we enjoyed a very nice afternoon conversation with him learning about the area. Overall thanks for a great site and trip destination. We would suggest adding a few more knives and forks for dining. The kitchen otherwise was stocked more than appropriately with all necessary cooking utensils. Coffee make with the keurig feature seemed to have a mind of its own and gave us some fits but we eventually got it under control and stopped it from leaking for a cup of coffee. Shallow Frying pan could use a replacement . Soā€¦ in closing, we really liked the place and our suggestions are made in the interest of general improvements and not to be whiny and complaining. Thank you for sharing your home with us and we look forward to returning. What a great week

Really enjoyed the whole house, amazing views, the dock was very nice , I was able to fit my 2 jetskis very comfortably, plus a kayak, and floats! The hot tub also was great, it was clean, I really enjoyed the large shower in the bathroom. Looking forward to coming back in the future!

READ BEFORE STAYING

Let me start by saying that the view from this place is gorgeous. The house itself was designed very beautifully.However, not very practically. Every sound can be heard through the floorboards for those staying downstairs and through the walls, as no ceiling was placed between the two levels. The beds, linens, furniture, deck and everything else appears to be very cheap. Bring your own trash bags, pillows, paper towels and toilet paper as the ones provided are clearly from the Dollar Tree and useless. The deck had some very clear structural issues, the ā€œprofessionally leveledā€ pool table downstairs is full of tears and rips and being held up on one side by what appears to be cardboard. The house was mostly clean, aside from the plastic paneling and trash we found on the deck. The washing machine had mold in it as did the downstairs shower. When we arrived the trash bins outside were overflowing, and we had to pick up this trash every morning as animals were easily able to access it. We reached out to support about this over multiple days, with no response. I wish I could post true pictures of everything. The app said trash is Thursday, however the sign in the house says Wednesday and Saturday. There were multiple other instances of miscommunication between the Vrbo app, Vacasa and the signage in the house. We learned our lesson to never book with Vacasa as weā€™ve had much better experiences for half the cost elsewhere on the lake. Not worth the money they are charging!

Our Smith Mt Lake stay mid-May 2024

We had a great time! The house is very spacious and clean. The view of Smith Mt Lake is beautiful. The dock was great for 1 pontoon boat, which we enjoyed. It is early in the season (mid-May 2024), but the outdoor decks and furniture and screen porch, all needs a very good power washing, which would allow for an even more enjoyable time. We would gladly return to stay again.

Honestly a great house.

The view from the back porch was amazing, and the house is HUGE! The bathroom floor off the main bedroom is heated which was wonderful! We would have liked to have been able to use the fire places, and the basement temperature was significantly colder than the upstairs. Ultimately minor inconveniences to an otherwise amazing stay!

Beautiful Stay!

We had a wonderful long weekend here with 2 adults and 3 teens. The home itself is beautiful with wood beams throughout and ample space. The pool table and hot tub were great additions. We enjoyed the dock for fishing and enjoyed the fire pit. Location was great. Ample kitchen supplies. Wonderful weekend! We would love to return.

Excellent Experience

We had a most excellent stay at the Main House. The property was clean and very spacious. Listing was priced well for NYE weekend, and had most of what we needed to cook - coffee maker, microwave, fridge space, basic spices (garlic, salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, onion powder, paprika). The enormous pile of firewood was nice to keep fires going all weekend long. Would recommend the owner/property manager have extra towels (bath and kitchen) on hand. Also, would have been nice to have trash bags and dish soap at the house. There is a convenience store ~10 minutes away with basic food items, etc. We would love to stay here again!

Great getaway

House and location is lovely. We did not have any problems and were able to use all listed appliances, the hot tub, and the fireplace. The view is stunning and can be enjoyed from inside or either outdoor deck, but the hill down to the lake may be a little steep for people with mobility concerns or small children. We would definitely return to this home!

Beautiful views and a huge house!

House is very spacious and has gorgeous views!!! Pictures of the house are exactly as advertised. Yes, furniture and decor is outdated, but didnā€™t bother us. We thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful lake front property and private dock and launch. We paddleboarded every day, swam around the lake, and sat and enjoyed the view! We built fires and hung in the hammock daily and it was one of the best vacations we have had! The balcony in the back of the house is wonderful! Just doesnā€™t have lights on it which was weird! The hot tub was a highlight to enjoy for sure! Although, after 2 days the water got cloudy and looked like there was something wrong with the filter. After reaching out to vacasa, no help was really provided to fix it. We werenā€™t there for very long so it didnā€™t bother us much, but it was frustrating that there was not an actual person who responded to help fix the problem. The tv/video system in the basement was frustrating to work with. None of the remotes had batteries in them and there were none in the house, so the system could only be used with the Apple TV or Nintendo switch we brought with us. That was bothersome. Vacasa said they would send someone out to fix it, but no one came. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and the fully stocked kitchen was a nice convenience!! We made all our meals there and never had to go out - which is good because there is nothing super close by!! Just the way we like it! I give it 4/5 stars for those few problems.
