Retreat from the cares of the world in this tastefully furnished, one-bedroom, one-bath, oceanfront home.

Punana Aloha, which means 'Love Nest' in Hawaiian, is a one-bedroom, one-bath hideaway on incomparable Anini Beach. Constructed of natural cedar throughout, this cottage is the perfect choice for a vacation to simply 'get away from it all.' Restricted to a maximum of two guests, the cottage is ideal for honeymoons or anniversaries.

Located on Kauai's verdant North Shore, Anini Beach is a haven for the traveler who wants to experience the unspoiled natural beauty of Hawaii. Protected by a large outer reef, the quiet waters of Anini are perfect for swimming, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, windsurfing, and sunning.

Follow Anini Road almost to the spot where it dead ends at Anini Stream (the last quarter mile is unpaved and may be a little bumpy) and you will find Punana Aloha on a beautifully landscaped half acre of land fronting the ocean. The ocean view is unobstructed, and your toes will touch the sand of the beach less than 75 yards from the front door.

Features include 896 square feet of living area with two covered lanais, two reclining chairs in living room, built-in desk/office area, daybed, comfortable king-sized bed in bedroom, full bathroom with tub/shower, ceiling fans, washer and dryer, telephones, large charcoal barbeque/smoker, chaise lounges, and beach chairs.

The fully-equipped kitchen contains solid oak cabinets with a large pantry, a four-burner gas range with oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave, six-foot bar/serving counter/cooking island, coffee maker, rice cooker/steamer, toaster, blender, mixer, etc.

The living room has a home entertainment center which includes a 27-inch color cable Smart TV .

We provide FREE HIGH SPEED INTERNET ACCESS (DSL), FREE UNLIMITED LONG DISTANCE CALLING (within the USA), CALLER ID, 3 WAY CALLING, AND *69 (enabling you to dial the last number who called you). There is a cordless phone in the kitchen area, and one more in the bedroom. The kitchen phone also has an answering machine.

Punana Aloha is fully permitted as a transient vacation rental by the County of Kauai. Our Non Conforming Use Certificate number is 5082.
Please note that this property is in a Tsunami Zone as most beachfront property on the island. Detailed information regarding the corresponding evacuation is provided at the accommodation.

This home is secluded on the end of a quiet road with the beach in the front yard. The sounds of the surf, the crowing roosters and the household kitty all enhanced the charm of our stay.

The property is stunning! Secluded but also good beach access A lot of good information from the host. The only problem we encountered was the non working oven. With everything else so carefully explained, it would have been nice to have a heads up about that. Thanks to Suzi for answering me quickly once I questioned it!

Fantastic cozy home

This house was a perfect place to chill, or spend time on the beach across the road, and a fabulous base of operations for our island adventures! Previous guests have left a lovely assortment of spices and condiments, and we contributed so check the fridge before you buy salad dressing or mayo. The local farmers markets are a great way to stock up on fresh produce. Make sure you snorkel down at the park, there are tons of turtles there!

Great place on Anini beach

The place was great. Quiet and had everything I needed for some alone time. Just a short walk from the beach. Centrally located for my needs with groceries and restaurants close by. I would easily stay here again.

Our Stay at Anini Beach

We had a great time. We were able to seethe ocean thru the living room window and it was about a 3 minute walk to the beach. Snorkeling in the cove we saw a variety of fish and a sea turtle. Bit of a bumpy unpaved road the last 1/4 mile to the driveway entrance

An absolute dream!

This location could not be more perfect! Suzi was so helpful and responsive throughout our stay. Although, we didn’t really need to communicate much because everything was so terrific. The islands experienced a pretty big storm that caused power outages, but the house was equipped with flashlights and Suzi checked up on us to make sure we were OK. The house was equipped with everything we needed and more. The beach is glorious. This was a perfect couples getaway with very few people, which made it easy to disconnect and fully enjoy our vacation! We will most certainly be staying again!

Perfect place in paradise

This house and its location are amazing. It is perfect for a couple’s retreat with everything we needed for a stay in paradise. Communication with the hosts was fast and flawless, and instructions and access were simple. The house comes with towels, beach chairs, beach mats, coolers, and a kitchen with new appliances. We appreciated the hose for rinsing our stuff, too.we could not have had a better spot to call home for 10 days. The house is not fancy - it has an old Hawaii feel - so if you’re looking for a super modern condo experience with AC and a hot tub (did not appeal to us in this climate lol) this might not be the place for you. Also be aware that as of now the last stretch of road before the driveway is extremely rutted - we really put our poor little rental car to the test. If you arrive in the dark or during/after rain, drive REALLY CAREFULLY & SLOWLY - no joke. But we figured it out!We are so grateful for our time in Kauai and that we got to spend it staying in this special place.

Nakea Kauai Vacation rentals offers three properties for rent, a one bedroom ocean bluff condo at Sealodge in Princeville (Kai Nani), a three bedroom beachfront home (Hale Kai) and a one bedroom beachfront cottage (Punana Aloha). The latter two are both located at the secluded end of incredible Anini Beach. All three properties are owned and lovingly cared for by Bob Nakea and his daughter Suzi. Bob and Suzi are native Hawaiians whose family's roots on Kauai go back to the 1800's. No attention to detail on the properties is overlooked, and each home is furnished with the comfort of its guests foremost in mind.

In the North Shore's idyllic setting you can: swim, surf; sunbathe, scuba dive or snorkel, wind surf (with rental boards and lessons available at Anini Beach Park), go shore fishing, book a deep water charter; beach comb, go horseback riding at nearby stables, hike the island's awesome trails, enjoy gourmet dining, whale watch, take a Na Pali Coast boat tour or a sunset sailing cruise in Hanalei Bay, book a helicopter tour of fabulous Waimea Canyon, play tennis, enjoy worldclass golfing, drive around the island and take in the sights, or just simply lie back and bask in the simple glory of being in one of earth's most naturally beautiful and peaceful places.

Punana Aloha's location almost at the dead end of Anini Road (1/5 mile from where the paved road ends and the sand and gravel road begins), where there is only a single row of homes along the beach, means that our guests enjoy quiet and privacy not found along most of the rest of Anini . The protecting reef (one of the largest in Hawaii) assures that the waves break far out and not on the shore, and the calm shoreline and shallow waters make the area in front of the house ideal for swimming and snorkeling most of the year (except during periods of high winter surf).
