Suite #315... This suite offers the ultimate in loft-living! Three levels, with 18 ft. ceilings. 790 sq.ft. The first floor offers an efficiency-style kitchen, half bath, and cozy sitting area, and all bamboo flooring. There is a direct entrance to a large third floor public porch, which has great views of the 480 acres of preserved parkland and hiking trails at the village. Up the spiral staircase, the 10x9 ft mezzanine/office divides the living room and bedroom. Here there is a trundle bed (2 twin beds) and desk. The large loft style bedroom has full bath, queen bed and two skylights. This unit has two original dormers that face west- which provide a great deal of sun throughout! Ideal Space for two - four occupants (but can fit more to sleep on the couch or blow-up mattress if needed).‘ The Village’ at Grand Traverse Commons. Located right on the edge of town in TC's 'The Commons' - the largest historic preservation project in the country at the site of a 150 year old State Hospital.. Pedestrian walkways and expansive lawns, surrounded by historic arboretums. Gorgeous hiking and biking trails along Kid's Creek and through 480 acres of preserved parkland...The ever changing, art-adorned walls of the Mercato an expansive indoor marketplace in the Garden Level of Building 50, that is currently host to an Italian eatery; Trattoria Stella, Pepe Nero, Building 50 gallery, Local Farmers market, Premier flower shop, a deli, fashion boutique, Left Foot Charley Local winery and tasting room. Also on site are a fair trade organic coffee roastery & brew bar, Pleasantry brick oven bakery, Spanglish, Cuppa Joe and a yoga studio. Great stay!

Being in this apartment was very convenient! We loved the restaurants in the building! We brought bikes and rode around the area to different restaurants too. Great family vacation!!

Great place to stay!

We rented this loft style condo for a weekend and it was great! Very clean, cozy, and welcoming! Plenty of room in the loft, with a very comfy bed and clean living and bathroom areas. A quick drive to the downtown areas (about 2-3 minutes) and the coffee shop and other shops on site were pretty neat. Will definitely try to book this again next year!

Great place to stay!

My husband and his colleagues were attending a conference at this facility and this unit met their needs perfectly! It was convenient and comfortable. Would definitely return. The owner was great communicating and a pleasure in all our dealings.

I wont stay anywhere else in TC

We had the best time at Chelsea's property. I love the little community that surrounds the Village. The unit is 3 stories high and is already on the top floor. The adjacent patio is the best place to spend the day. The beds were comfy and we had everything we needed including great communication from the owner.

Great time in Traverse City

We came from Georgia for a surprise visit to family in the area. Both my parents worked at the hospital in the late 60's early 70's so we got the best tour imaginable. What a neat location for a rental, beautiful buildings, beautiful water, and downtown shopping all so close!! We loved it! Thank you so much for allowing us to share your home.

Really enjoyed it, would stay again

We loved everything about our stay. The grounds at the Village were beautiful! Our host was great, she checked in on us on the first day just to ensure all was well. We had no issues with our property. We enjoyed learning about the history and highly recommend the flashlight asylum tour. We were close to everything, great food, beaches and a short drive from the dunes. We will definitely be back! Oh and don’t forget brunch at Redspire! You’ll love it.

Cool loft in awesome location

My husband and I had a very nice time staying in this condo at the Village at Grand Traverse Commons. As some of the other reviewers have said, it is a smaller unit than some of the others in the building; however, it is a very well-thought-out space. The loft which houses the bedroom and master bath takes full advantage of its position at the top of this beautiful building with very large skylights that make that loft a wonderful place to be. The living area is very nice with good seating, and the kitchen is well equipped, too. As with all the condos in this building, the workmanship that restored the space is excellent, as are all the materials used in finishing the space. The decor is interesting, too. Perhaps our favorite feature of this condo was its direct access to the spacious public porch which provides a lovely west facing view of the buildings and grounds. It was a great place to eat breakfast and enjoy our coffee. The Village is a fantastic place to stay with restaurants, shops, an art gallery, tasting rooms, bakeries, and much more.

Weekend getway

Nice location on the grounds of the Traverse City Village Commons. Plenty of shops and a few nice restaurants on the property. Hiking trails are also nearby.

Wonderfully unique location in Traverse City

If you are looking for a different place to stay next time you visit Traverse City I recommend the Commons. The location is full of history, shopping, and close to downtown. If I have any suggestions it would be the cleanliness could have been a bit more thorough.

Great Location

Great location! A short drive to downtown TC, wineries, and restaurants. Chelsea was responsive to all inquiries. The kitchen had minimal cookware (saucepans, skillets, etc.), but it was manageable. The area was quiet and parking was close to the unit.

4th of July extended weekend

I don't usually complain about a property that I have rented but I was very disappointed in this unit. The unit was dirty, lots of dust on the furniture lots of cob webs throughout. The kitchen sink didn't look like it had been cleaned in a long time it looked and felt very greasy. The furnishings were extremely sparse from the furniture to the kitchen furnishings. The dish soap was so diluted that it didn't even make suds for washing dishes. There were no dish rags or dish towels and no hair blower (which was included as an item furnished). The kitchen furnishings are all mismatched, looks like they came from a thrift store or garage sale. The unit needs some major TLC or a complete remodel. The building and the grounds are beautiful but not this unit. The furnishings are old and mismatched. The TV is smaller than a computer monitor. The roof top deck is amazing but there was only 2 old folding chairs and a rusty table to use. (I'm so glad we brought our own bag chairs but a nice table and chairs with an umbrella would be a great addition). If you are looking for a nice, updated fully furnished unit - please look elsewhere.

Perfect getaway

The loft is simple and unique. Bed was super comfortable and the outdoor deck was used every day! We had everything we needed! The shops and restaurants downstairs were charming and we left money well spent there! We could not have picked a better place to stay!

First anniversary

Everything was perfect for our trip. The location was absolutely stunning and the rental was beautiful and the whole establishment was an experience in itself. We are definitely looking forward to coming back to the city and will almost certainly book the same property again

Quick review of Loft Condo at Traverse Village

Communication very good. Condo in great location with many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Thought the circular stairs up to the Loft could be a challenge but was actually easy to negotiate. Check in very easy.

So sweet

I loved staying at Chelsea’s place in the old state hospital. There is so much to do and explore just in that little area that you could just stay put there for a little vacation. The apartment was well lit, in a great location and communication with the host was easy. Would definitely like to book another trip next time I’m in Northen Michigan!

TC with the grandkids!

We love staying at the commons when we are in Traverse City!! Such a neat property! This was a nice rental with everything we needed. The balcony was great for some fresh air and people watching. The space could use a little updating but was other very clean and comfortable.
