Location was the best thing about the house!

The location of the house was great, beach at your back door. Cleanliness would seem to be important now during Covid, but nothing has been wiped down. The sheets were clean and the floors. It needs to be remodeled and refurnished. Would not stay again or recommend to friends and family.

Our cleaners ensure that all hard surfaces are wiped down and disinfected, and our home inspector, who is separate of the cleaning team, does a thorough check behind them before guest arrival. Nice and decent house

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: It is well coordinated and the house is in great location we relaxed and enjoyed the stay overall. Needs a pest control treatment as we hoped into a couple of roaches. The bed spreads was unclean a bit but we had the washer and detergent available in the house that helped us wash and use it. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

This home, along with all of the other homes on our vacation rental program, is treated monthly on the interior and exterior with our pest control vendor. We do apologize if you encountered any crawlies during your visit. We are more than happy to send pest control out to treat again if you contact us and let us know that you're seeing live ones. We did not see any signs of bugs during our inspections on the day of your arrival. If you encounter concerns with the bed spreads please let us know and we will promptly exchange them for you. They are watching!

2nd year in a row we stayed in this house. This year we were being watched and didn’t know this until we arrived. The owners watch and if they feel something is in doubt call the property manager to have her call you. We are very respectful of other peoples things and i am sure they are reason the owners to feel they need to watch you, But for this kind of money to have some one watch and i believe changed the temp from remote device. We left one morning for a day trip the temp was set on 73 we came back later that day and it was 80 in the house and the temp was set on 78. It was not programmed to change. We called about that and it never changed again during our stay and no one came and checked the thermostat. We will not be back at this house next year, hate to say because we really like the location. Cameras need to go or be disclosed before renting.

I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: When we arrived at Shatzie Rose the house was as described as far as location and amenities. The cleanliness of the home was not as expected. The dust in this home was awful. The fan blades, window ledges, window blinds and the vents on the wall were full of months worth of dust. The toilet in the hall bathroom did not have a lid on the tank, the tub didn’t have a working stopper for a bath and only one door on the shower closed. The master bath was also very dirty. The bathtub jets were filthy. We bought bathroom cleaner but couldn’t get it clean enough to give the baby a bath. I have photos of the cleanliness of you would like to see them.

Great Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great property, very clean and well maintained inside and out. The kitchen was well stocked for all our needs. The only negative was the automatic thermostat. If it did not detect movement in the house, it would set itself to 78. This includes when we were at the beach, returning to a hot house. It also was a problem while sleeping. The upstairs becomes extremely warm and uncomfortable. I started waking up in the middle of the night to adjust it to cooler. Additionally, the sexually related/nudity art in the house lead to many comments from our teenage boys. This should probably be mentioned in the description of home. (Topless mermaids, etc)We would stay here again, but hopefully the thermostat is different when we return. A great stay overall.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Baytowne was very kind and helpful, however I wouldn’t recommend staying at this property unless you enjoy having your every move watched by the homeowner. We ended up having one extra child over the max capacity that joined our stay after the house was booked (I should have called to inform, but didn’t think it would be a huge deal since there was plenty of bed space to accommodate) and we were called not once but twice inquiring about the number of guests and were also asked to move a chair that was placed on the deck outside of the screened in porch. We have been vacationing in this area for 7 years and have never had issues with rental houses but we definitely felt like we were being watched after that and didn’t feel comfortable for the rest of the stay. The cameras under and on the side of the house should be disclosed at booking if they aren’t only used for security purposes.

NOISY TRUCKS

It would of been nice for someone to let us know they were doing work on the beach. woke at 7am every morning to big trucks until 4:30. Not very restful vacation. And not to mention the view mound of sand and trucks blocking the ocean view.

We greatly apologize about this inconvenience! We were unaware of the construction schedules of the dune renourishment project, and crews should not be working that early per the Gulf County guidelines. This was a project conducted by the State of Florida so information to local citizens was painfully limited. Thankfully this project is now completed.

Perfect spot on the beach!

This house was perfect for us and my sisters family. The adults all had bedrooms and the young cousins slept in the upstairs loft (and loved the spiral staircase). The screened porch was perfect for dinners at sunset (away from the bugs of summertime) but the outer porch was perfect for late night stargazing. We had never been to the area before but found it to be pretty quiet but with options in Port St. Joe and Appalachacola not far away for the days or night we wanted seafood and not to cook. The water was a bit murky (typical of the area) but the kids didn't care- they were out there every day splashing around!

Excellent Beach Front Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location directly on the beach! The house was as advertised and the kitchen was fully equipped. Kind of no frills and slightly outdated. There could be more seating in the living room with the addition of another love seat. Also lacking was comfortable outdoor seating and lounge chairs to relax. There were only 5 seats for the outdoor table and they are rusted and uncomfortable.

Great Vacation Home just as described

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our week at this awesome beach house! It was just what we needed, not too small, not too big. It was very clean, check-in/check-out was a breeze and the property manager was very helpful. A few suggestions - 2 outdoor trash cans would be nice rather than 1 if that's possible, would be nice to be able to control the heat and a/c temp but it was ok, couldn't get the living room fan turned on (finally found the remote for it taped behind the tv, but alas it didn't work either), and you need a curtain or door on the shower cove in the loft upstairs, otherwise you can see in the shower from the living room below. Luckily I had read about the shower in another review before we went, so I took a curtain and tension rod to put up and it worked just fine. I actually ended up forgetting to take the curtain back with me so it may still be there! And the only bad thing was the gas grill ran out of propane right in the middle of cooking supper one night, but we made do and finished the fish in the oven. It happens and can't really be helped. Thank you for sharing your home! :)

Beautiful home with everything you need

Beautiful home with awesome view of the Gulf. Well equipped with everything you needed. Only negative was garbage can for house was full when we checked in, we had to take garbage with us when we left 🥺

Beautiful beach house

Kitchen very well equipped.Only suggestion is that two out of three bedrooms need bigger beds,because they are not queen beds. Thank you so much to let us enjoy your house!!!

Awesome staying

The house was very comfortable and we have all the amenities we need to cook and address all the kids ‘ needs. The position is perfect for the people is looking for a quite staying and enjoying the nature , the beach and all the activities you can do in this kind of environment (fishing, kayaking). We had an issue with A/C that was solved during the same day. Michelle was so kind. Thank you and see you soon

Girls Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the property. It had three bedrooms on the main floor with big beds. It was perfect for the three of us to have our own rooms. The screened in deck was wonderful to eat breakfast and have drinks in the evenings. The home is very close to the water so we did not have far to walk with our beach chairs and it was easy to run to the house real quick if we needed something. I would definitely stay here again.

Beach was closed for half the time, so spent money on kayak and paddle board that couldn't be used. House was dirty. Need new furniture. You also need a curtain on upstairs shower because it is not usable without door for privacy. One bed is more full than Queen. Upstairs beds very uncomfortable.

On the evening of your check in you called us questioning the cleaning procedure of the home stating it didn't look clean. We met you at the property around 7pm to do a walkthrough together and you agreed the house looked clean, however you were not happy with the condition of the couch and dining room chairs. It's disappointing to see that you reviewed the property as dirty after we physically looked at the property in person together that evening and your family agreed all was ok after discussion. Additionally, the beaches never closed down for public use. The only period in which the county shut down our beaches was in April and May for several weeks. However, on the extreme rare case that the beaches were to be shut down then you could always kayak in our calm and pristine bay nearby! The home owner has ordered all new living room furniture and dining room furniture to update the home, and we discussed in person that we're waiting on it to arrive for install. Thank you for your recommendations, Sarah. In our attempts to solve any problems with you together, as well as checking in with you during the week, we did hope for a better review from you. We apologize for any inconveniences.
