Welcome to Dilly Dally, a beautifully curated vacation home in the heart of the gated Village Walk community in Port Aransas, Texas. This spacious getaway features 4 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, and comfortably sleeps up to 12 guests—perfect for large families or groups looking for a relaxing coastal escape.

Upstairs, you’ll find three additional bedrooms, a cozy bunk room that sleeps 4, and a second living area with a kitchenette and exterior stair access—great for added privacy or group flexibility.

Location great, unit needs improvement

We enjoyed the location of the condo and the golf cart was a plus and made getting around town very easy. But the unit itself needs some improvements. There was a storm over night and the roof started leaking in the main living room. The beds were extremely uncomfortable and one couple slept on the couch the entire time. The place needed a DEEP clean. There were dead roaches under the bed and the main shower was covered in sand upon our arrival. The whole unit was covered in grime and the rugs in the master bed/bathroom smelled like urine. We would not stay in this unit again.

Overall I thought it was nice. It fit our family for our weekend getaway. A few recommendations would be to provide some cleaner. There was no cleaner in the house to wipe anything down. We had to go buy some. We were also provided a free golf cart with our rental. I can't complain too much so cute it was free but it was awful. No blinkers, horn didn't work and gas gage didn't work. Whether it is free or not, it should at least be street legal. When we were packing up to leave we found way we believe was a baby cockroach on our babies blanket. We didn't see any throughout our stay though, so it could have been a fluke. I think it was a great location and the community was so cute. If there were just a few small upgrades it would have been perfect.

Beds were filthy with sand pet hair crumbs no kitchen towels or pot holders bbq pits were not cleaned front screened in porch had dog hair and dog mess not cleaned up. Liked the gated area the 2 pools would like to try the neighborhood again but in a different house. First time using sands vacation rental and first time ever had to take my beach time to get house cleaned. But the biggest issue is I had to call and micro manage to get it cleaned … no call back .. no double check … new person everytime who did not know I had already called needing assistance

We liked the home, however as far as handicap accessibility, it was not wheelchair accessible at all. The entry onto the home was a very narrow half sidewalk and then it continued as rocks. Getting a family member that is in a wheelchair into the home was extremely difficult. The master bathroom door was too narrow for the wheelchair as well. So I would not classify this home as accessible like it has been. It was nice to have access to the garage, but it was disgusting. Needs to be cleaned up, junk thrown away. The upstairs trundle bed did not work properly, it slants.

THE ROACHES RUNNING ON THE COUNTER AND IN THE KITCHEN DRAWERS ALL OVER THE THE FORKS AND SPOONS WAS DISGUSTING. I CALLED THE OFFICE AND TOLD THEM ABOUT THE ROACHES AND I WAS TOLD WE WILL SEND SOMEONE TO SRRAY. I HAD ALLREADY WENT TO THE STORE AND BOUGHT SPRAY. ME AND MY WIFE SPRAYED ROACHES ALL WEEKEND LONG. IT WAS DISGUSTING. WE DID NOT COOK OR MAKE COFFEE OR ANYTHING IN THE KITCHEN. IT RUINED OUR EASTER WEEKEND. SILVER SANDS COULD NOT HAVE CARED LESS. NOTHING BUT A WASTE OF MONEY. A FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLAR ROACH HOUSE.

Big Family Jackpot

This house was amazing to us. Spring vacation for the kiddos before they go back to school, family of 11 and everyone had their own space. Large house and super convenient to all the great spots. Heated Pool was 2 house down (which made it easy for the kids to enjoy they warm water). Supplied with everything we needed. Clean, security on watch, loved that we had a garage to store the vehicles that had the tops off, and super adorable home. Cozy and welcoming. Will definitely consider this house again on our next trip.

There are bugs inside the house. There was only one extra trash bag and one dishwasher pod. We were there from Friday to Monday, definitely not enough supplies. My bedroom the bed sheets were dirty, found hair in them.

Great time

We had a great time. The house was warmly decorated and was totally prepared for our stay. It was in a great location. Close enough to the pool but not noisy. The homes in this gated community were cute and well situated. The golf cart was a real bonus. FYI there is no grass anywhere if your pup is finicky about potty location. The walk to the front door uses stepping stones that made it difficult to get rolling luggage and cooler in the house. The contactless check in and out worked smoothly. We definitely want to come back.

Great place with comfortable accomodations

We really enjoyed our stay here. There are a few minor inconveniences at the place, like the door is really loud and you can hear everything happening upstairs (foot steps, door opening/closing) in the first floor bedroom, but the beds were all comfortable and you can't beat the location. The screened in porch was also a plus, and the couch and gathering area in the kitchen/living room were great for our large group. We will definitely be back.

Could have been better...

Negatives: Upon arrival, there were numerous broken items...enough to warrant the need to document and report. The window next to the front door was broken, held together with packing tape. Numerous blinds throughout the home had broken slats. The DVD player was broken so our planned movie nights were out of the question. Thunderstorms one night led to heavy leaks coming down the kitchen ceiling...we franticly placed pots and pans to catch the water. Also discovered a puddle of rain water leaking into the floor of the downstairs master bedroom (far right corner). Discovered a few live roaches. Reported to management but got no response, except maintenance did show with a container to catch the rain water. Positives: The home was spacious and beautifully decorated with comfortable bedding, linens and towels. Easy check-in and check-out process. The golf cart was fun and in good condition. Great AC and ceiling fans throughout the home. Cable TV worked great (except during thunderstorms). Kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. Gated community was clean and safe. Great location.

The Case

Great location, decoration, very roomy, well done place. The description of the golf cart is not accurate, could be more accurate about the style/type of coffee maker so people know what kind of filters to buy. Could use some bee pots and pans, they are pretty rough. A couple of the shades had broken pieces and a window was broken and taped up.

Port A is a nice place.

Neighborhood was nice, especially nice for dog walking. House had nice layout. I missed that fenced yard had no grass just landscape rock but the dog adjusted. Most of furniture, fixtures and finishes in this house are very tired, inside of house could use a make-over. But we did enjoy Port Aransas and the area.

Reviewer Comments: Having stayed here in summer 2019 for my son’s 3rd birthday, we decided to spend a month after thanksgiving working and living at dog-friendly Basket Case in Village Walk. I adore this beach house. As an avid baker, the kitchen here is glorious, all we had to bring was our kettle and mixer. (Shipt delivers HEB groceries to the address which was an added COVID bonus.) The beds are comfortable. The screened- in porch is so zen. And there is a heated pool year round in the community which feels amazing whether it’s 50 or 70 outside :) We had friends quarantine and visit each weekend and it was nice to reconnect. December in Port A is perfect for beach walks and sand castle building too. ‘Til next time, Basket Case!

Check in delayed for “extra cleaning” didn’t seem to help. I **** roach greeted me as I opened the door. I quickly killed it and swept it under the rug in an attempt to not ruin the first impression for the rest of my family. House smelled like smoke, outdoor area ground covered with cigarette ashes. The final straw was that the downstairs bedsheets where dirty . Hair and stains in multiple areas. Property manager was responsive and apologetic. we checked out early. We have vacationed in port Aransas yearly for over a decade. Easily the worst experience.

Mom/Son Weekend

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our group was 5 moms and 5 sons (16 yr old). We came to Port A with other moms and sons who rented 2 other houses. We absolutely loved Basket Case. It was perfect because we could put the boys in the guest apartment part of the house. We liked that they could access the apartment from the outside. Loved the little screened in porch that we would sit at in the morning and at night. Plenty of room. Silver Sands was great (slight issue with unlocking the garage door, but they helped us immediately). Only down side was that I thought the house came with a golf cart - when I booked, it said there was one, in my confirmation there wasn't, so we ended up renting one. Getting to the beach was about a 3-5 minute cart ride. Also, due to Covid we were told that our check in was pushed out 1 hour because of extra cleaning, I think the cleaning crew could have done a better job with cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms (especially since they were asking for extra time to do so) - it wasn't that bad and didn't change how much we liked the house/experience. I noted this with Silver Sands. I would definitely rent this house again.

Suggestions would be to update the kitchen small appliances, pots and pans, and cooking utensils. They are really in bad shape and over used. Also, they is a shortage of silverware. I just think some things have walked off and need replacing. Also, the housekeeping service is not doing a very good job. We started with 6 towels and there were bugs on the floor and sand everywhere when we got there including in the beds. Overall, the place was nice, just needs a little TLC.

Kitchen was unorganized and hard to find essential items, never did find a baking pan, like a 9x13 or similar. My major complaint was the bedroom set up. Two of the four bedrooms are walk throughs. This was quite awkward for our party. When it lists a bedroom, I assume there is a private entrance for each room, but this was not the case in this house. They should list it as such. Great location, close to beach (not truly walkable) but a short drive and easy to get to town or beach.
