Cozy Cabin

Excellent location. Easy access. Parking for at least 3 vehicles. 10 minutes from shopping and downtown Franklin. 12 miles or 25 minutes to Highlands. Home is very well equipped with everything you need. We would definately stay there again. Beautiful location. Internet is spotty which is typical in the mountians.

A Great View with a water fall...but be AWARE!!!

This house is in a great location. The waterfall out back is amazing. However, this is a very old house with some good upgrades. The old house has potential but the smells are not that pleasant. We had to check out early because the smell of rodents living underneath the house was unbearable. The owner gave me my money back for the one night that I left early. Check in was difficult. When we got there the automatic lock was not working. After contacting the owner, I had to crawl into the house through a window that was left open to unlock the house. We then had to go and buy batteries for the automatic lock...which I was not refunded for. We had to leave the window unlocked each day that we left so that we could get in... The owner was very response and helpful but we will never be back..

Beautiful views and location

Stayed here for a last minute trip to the mountains. Contact with the host/owner was excellent and very helpful. Location of the cabin is great and the views from the front porch are beautiful. Cabin is very well stocked with everything needed and is obviously well-loved by the owner’s family. Overall the cabin was nice but we didn’t find it as clean as we would have liked; a bit on the grubby side, like it needed a really good deep clean (for example, kitchen cabinets were sticky, and the coffee maker and toaster needed to be cleaned before we felt comfortable using them). There was a permeating musty smell which is common in mountain cabins; unfortunately it was overwhelming and came home with us in our clothing. The 2nd bathroom was lovely and had been nicely updated, but the master bath really needed some work. The property is nice enough and in a great location, but I don’t think we would stay again.

Nice Stay in Franklin NC

The “Cozy Cabin” is a wonderful place from which to enjoy the Franklin NC area. The cabin is well furnished and clean. The kitchen has virtually every type of dish, pot, pan and cooking utensil needed. The pantry is bountifully stocked with all necessary condiments as well as additional surprises. The host is easy and pleasant to deal with. We heartily recommend.

Rock and Mineral Ahow

Three of us came to attend the rock show and buy for our store. The house was perfect, less than 10 mins from the show and right off a state highway. Beautiful Mountain view with my coffee every morning sitting in a rocker on the deck. Great place !!

Cozy Cabin

Warm, cozy, comfortable, homey, peaceful and the list goes on. This beautiful place we called home for over a week had everything you could ask for. Definitely a place we want to make our yearly family vacation! Perfect in every way!

Located near several great waterfalls and near Franklin and Highlands. We drove over to Hendersonville for apples. Love this location!!!! Within an hour to so many wonderful mountain areas!!!!

Close to Heaven !

You would be hard pressed to find a cleaner more well appointed cabin. The cabin was spotless , as well as the porches and decks. Every inch of this cabin met every need and expectation. Half way between Franklin and Highlands ,,the location is convenient , but Uber private. Really enjoyed watching the humming birds from the front porch ,, they are constantly present between the many feeders and the wild flowers across the street.

Just Right

Very happy with the property, loved access without having to go in town to a real estate office. Everything we needed,clean and comfortable. Parking a big bonus. Highly recommend it.

Creek side cabin with screened porches and great kitchen

Our stay was very pleasant and relaxing! We enjoyed hearing the creek and all the birds from the forest in back . The kitchen was very nice and well stocked with cookware. The cabin was very conveniently located for visiting Franklin and Highlands and scenic parks.

Lovely mountain getaway

I needed a break from work and from South Florida. Where else to go other than the mountains? As a kid, I spent all my summers and some autumns in Franklin, so it’s a special place to me. Now, I haven’t visited in nearly a decade and it was especially important that I find a cabin similar to the ones I stayed in as a kid (which are no longer available as rentals). I also needed a place that my FWD Camry could reach. I was booking a week-long trip with my mom, and I was happy to come across this cabin and even happier once I arrived. The driveway seems very steep but it’s not as bad as it looks. I would suggest arriving during daylight hours for first time visitors. Once you find the house, it is easy the second time. It is not too far from downtown Franklin, about 15 minutes or so. What a fantastic little cabin! The outside and inside are very inviting, clean, and cozy. As soon as we arrived, despite dusk approaching, I went down the steps to check out the beautiful stream in the backyard. Fortunately, I did not get eaten by a bear, nor did we see any near the house. We were pleased to find that the cabin had basic necessities and more. Although we packed our own paper towels, hangers, etc., it was a pleasant surprise to see the home had those items available. The WiFi is a bit slow, but the cell service is good. I had to do a few things on my work computer and it was faster to connect to my phone’s hotspot. With that being said, the cabin really helps you “disconnect” and get closer to nature. My favorite part was waking up (in a very comfortable bed) and opening the window to hear the rushing stream and the birds chirping, and feeling the cool air. Although it was around 40F every morning, I wanted to drink my coffee on the front porch, back porch, and two screened in patio areas. The worst part of this vacation was counting down the days until it was time to leave. It has been less than a day since we left, and I already miss it there. The next time I am able to plan a trip, I will be looking to stay here again! Thank you for everything!

Wonderful mountain getaway

This cabin has everything you could want in a trip to the mountains of NC. Private, yet convenient to town and trails. It is a well equipped historic family cabin, and was decorated for Christmas! Tricia is so nice to deal with. It’s a wonderful place to stay.

Peaceful Cabin and Waterfalls

Everything you need for a wonderful week of relaxing. Porches all around cabin with breath taking views from the front porch. Very cozy, comfortable cabin and quiet area. Not to far from Smokey Mountains. Our second time here.

Great getaway!

It was a great location not to far off the main road and had the most perfect views of the mountains! It was very homey and comfortable. It had a stream with three little waterfalls behind the house! Four wonderful porches, Two screened and two open. The house was decorated for fall inside and out! I guess I missed the no toiletries and we didn’t have bath soap the first night, but we made it ok. The wedding we came for was in Highlands and the drive up the steep mountain was a little stressful especially at night. So if your destination is Highlands you might want to stay a little closer! Other than that everything was provided and we really enjoyed our stay! We will hopefully go back soon‼️

great stay

We very much liked this property. It's not incredibly fancy, but it hit the right notes - immaculately clean, very comfortable beds, good AC, a well set-up kitchen. The area is quiet - we only heard a few cars ever go by - so sitting on the porches, even the one facing the road, was quite nice. Franklin is about 5 miles away, for easy access to supermarkets, restaurants, etc. (though, to be honest, with the pandemic, we didn't take advantage of the restaurants.) our only quibble was with the wifi - very slow, so the Roku built into each of the TVs (which were both nice TVs) didn't work very well.

Very Comfortable!

We have been to Franklin many times and it is a favorite place for us. This was the first time staying at this very comfortable home. We found all amenities to be exactly as we expected. Sadly, it rained two of the three full days we were there so we did not do too much. However, we did go gem mining on our first day, the only sunny day we were there. We would definitely stay at this home again!

This home has been in our family since 1983 when our parents wanted to get away from the Florida heat and found this lovely 3 acre property nestled up against the National Forest. Many of the walls are 'tongue & groove' pine and the floors are all hardwood - so it stayed cool and was easy to keep clean. We have our traditional excursions - the Craft Fairs, Pickin on the Square, Thrift Store Shopping and our favorite places to eat - the 'pie place'! But the best is just waking up in the morning and knowing the rocking chairs are calling our names. We love to gather here.

The National Forest behind the house with the babbling brook and the waterfalls on the property were key features for us. There is that layed-back feeling which beckons everyone to 'relax and stay awhile' as we come up the road.

We have all the conveniences of shopping, restaurants and entertainment, but our home is 4 miles from Downtown Franklin and it seems like I am so far away from it all. There are no sounds but the waterfalls, birds and mountain breezes. I breathe deeper and I think more clearly. The night sky is brilliant and it feels like you can touch the stars. The home is high enough in the mountain elevation that it really cools off at night.
