Great place to stay. Well stocked clean and accessible host. Got a red fish and black drum off the back of the houseboat. We’ll definitely stay there again.

Awesome Stay

We enjoyed our stay so much! My son loved fishing and swimming off the porch area. It’s a great location if you don’t like the long ride through a no wake zone too. The only thing that was not listed is not able to flush toilet paper. This may have been common knowledge for a houseboat but we weren’t aware. Location and house was amazing though.

This was a GREAT place for our guys trip. Mr. Dean was very responsive to texts/phone calls...he even stopped by as i asked him to. We'll definitely be back!!!!

Lots of Fun!

Great place to stay. The boat was well stocked and even had fishing poles if you didn't bring your own. Dean was responsive and helpful. Great trip! We will be back!!

Down the Bayou

Situated down at the end of Bayou Petite Calliou In Cocodrie La. Short run to canals and bays, with access to the barrier islands for fishing. Very well kept and stable house boat in a no wake zone with all the amenities. Can catch fish off the house boat decks with night lights. Awesome host and always available for any questions or concerns.

couldn’t flush toilet paper, had to use a waste basket provided by the host, no hot water to start, had to contact the host at 11 PM to figure out what was going on and troubleshoot myself, roof leaked in the living and bathroom, corner of the sofa got soaked, ants throughout the houseboat, hot water didn’t last long enough for a good shower, lights were really dim, had to contact the host to figure out what the problem was and then troubleshoot it myself, worked out to be a battery charger had tripped off due to a rain storm and needed to be reset, nothing like the pictures portrayed it to be, blind in the bathroom had broken slates which offered no privacy, poor water pressure in the shower, if your not mechanically inclined you don’t want to stay here because you become the onsite maintenance person,

Unique and fun escape

Overall, this is a unique and fun place to stay. The houseboat is older but well taken care of; it is essentially as described, but the host is in the process of upgrading and repairing a few things. Some of the top deck chairs were broken and there were pieces of siding laying on the deck. The fishing off the back deck was a blast and we caught a couple big black drum and a good red. We had some electrical issues late on our first night and when the host couldn’t troubleshoot the issue over the phone, he drove out to figure it out; he was super responsive our entire stay. The bathroom plumbing situation was a bit odd, nowhere in the description of the property did it say you would need to put your used toilet paper in a garbage can in the bathroom, because you can’t flush it down the toilet. It would have been nice to have been told that ahead of time for planning purposes and it would have been even nicer had the garbage can been supplied with small garbage bags to help with smell containment. Ideally, if you’re asking a customer to place their used toilet paper anywhere except the toilet, one would think two separate garbage cans with liners, would be provided and at least one of them could be air tight. Thankfully, we had gallon ziploc bags with us and we were able to fashion our own airtight solution. With all that said, we would stay here again as the location is perfect and the host was amazing. Now that we know what to expect, we’ll be prepared for next time.
