Incredible Waterfront Property, Pool, Boat, Gardens, and More!

We, the Kaplan family, are looking for a nice, responsible family to rent our home for select dates! We have a roomy, kid friendly home, located in a water community with large backyard including garden, pool, dock, 2 man kayak,all on Novato creek We are located in Novato California, ½ hour from beautiful San Francisco, the coast, Muir woods, and the Napa Valley! The house has four bedrooms (2 ½ bathrooms) which include 2 single beds, 1 double and 2 queen beds…there are three couches in the house and an elevated single inflatable bed that could be used for a larger group. Watch free Netflix movies on the home theater system or sing songs around our 1923 Ludwig baby grand piano. Or simply enjoy just relaxing and reflecting in our lovely home. We are definitely set up for people with kids…tons of toys, books, scooters, and bikes! We have great neighbors and could connect your family with locals to give you a non-touristy experience.

· Lots of outdoor activities in the backyard..., pool, beach, large table with adjustable screened pergola above, dock, SUP paddle board, kayak, and bikes.

From SFO there is the Marin Airporter that leaves every 1/2 hour that can take you within 5 minutes to the house.

Note: We rent our separate in-law penthouse out so the laundry room is shared.

Amazing Stay at Kaplan Novato Oasis

Our group of grandparents, parents, teens and toddler had a fantastic time at the Kaplan home. Check in and door code were easy and owner was kind to allow early entrance. We were wowed right away by the big dining table with Comfy, upholstered chairs, and the view of the beautiful mini grand piano and the custom pool and fields beyond in the backyard. The kids loved the billiard and pingpong rec room and the beautiful white decor bedroom. With four different bedrooms and a massive Master bedroom with a couch, there were private spaces for everyone in our 8 person group. It was 100F during our stay so the big pool with a deep end was a hit, and when it cooled down we also enjoyed the nice clean hot tub. The Novato location was close to shopping and convenient for our Bay Area, friends and family to come visit. Also close to visiting Snoopy Ice Rink in Santa Rosa, a SF Bay cruise, dim sum in Oakland, Berkeley Botanical Gardens, etc. Thanks for an amazing Marin County vacay!!

Great for parents of kids of all ages

The house is so awesome for kids of all ages, so much to do! Though the pool is open and the house is on a water way, so children who can not swim need to be watched at all times. Great for parents who want to have a wonderful home base that you don’t need to go on excursions to entertain you kids constantly. You can just sit back and watch them have fun! That said the owners kids are definitely grown so there might some minor cobweb clean up and trampoline hose down. I actually got permission to do some hedge trimming to make way for thier zip line 😂. I would like to note that the laundry is shared but there is a lockable door to the laundry area. We were there in summer so the pool not being heated was a non issue. The pool was warmer than most heated pools I’ve been in when we were there in mid July. The owners were helpful and personable. There was only 1 parking spot available and you can only park across the street after that but it never was much of a problem finding parking for my family who visited. We had a great time and would totally recommend!!!

Great stay!

We had a wonderful stay in Bel Marin Keys. It was perfect for a family vacation because the house was so kid friendly. I would definitely stay here again.

We all had a great time.

Brian and Stacey’s home was clean, spacious, and well appointed with appliances and amenities. All the furniture was comfortable and could seat our whole family. There was so much for all of to do that we didn’t have to leave the house at all. We enjoyed the pool, ping pong table, streaming and live TV, kayak, and play structure. We cooked all our meals here as well and found everything we needed to do so. The only inaccuracy was that the listing showed two full baths and one half bath. None of us could locate the half bath until the third day. In a party of 9 people, this is kind of a big deal. Finally we found a hidden door in the solarium, concealing a clearly broken, inoperable, dirty toilet. But bonus: there was a baseball bat in there, which we needed for my son’s piñata!

Relaxing landing place

We were in the area to do some sightseeing. It was wonderful to return each afternoon to relax in the private pool! The owners bent over backwards to make us feel welcome in their home and area. We would come back in a heartbeat!

Great Family Vacation

This house is perfect vacationing with small children and the lots to do in the neighborhood. They do live in the house as stated in the online posting, so it can be frustrating to some. We had a great time.

Amazing Getaway

Due to the pandemic we were looking for a place where we could vacation with the kids and have lots of amenities available on-site so that we did not have to go into public spaces too much. This property really delivered on all our expectations, and our family had a great time! Our kids enjoyed playing with the trampoline, swings, fire pit, and zip line. We also enjoyed the board games in the living room and all the children's books in the family room. We even went kayaking almost daily from the on-site dock. Our trip was in December so we did not get to take advantage of the pool, but the jacuzzi upstairs was wonderful. The views of the foothills/mountains from the upstairs balcony were amazing. Stacey and her family really took care of us during our stay. She was in daily communications with us regarding the house, and nearby amenities. Her family had thoroughly cleaned the place prior to our visit and made sure we were comfortable during our stay. Even though we were staying in their house and had never met them in person, Stacey made us feel like family guests the whole time we were there. There is a very informative binder with instructions for the various house amenities and guides for the area. Thank you again Stacey! We highly recommend this place for anyone looking to travel with their kids for its cleanliness and built-in entertainment options.

Wonderland for our family of 4

We wanted to take a vacation fairly close to home this year at a time when it's pretty challenging to travel at all. I didn't tell my kids anything about where we were going. When we arrived at the Kaplans' home and they saw where they were staying they were over the moon. Such a sunny, warm, welcoming space with activities packed into every corner - foosball, ping-pong, a zipline, a mini-beach, and yes, a pool! Felt like our own private villa. I personally enjoyed a 2-hour walk in the adjacent nature preserve as well as proximity to downtown Novato, and access to Marin's beautiful attractions like Pt. Reyes and Muir Woods - both within a half-hour drive. It was a perfect 5 days. We had a wonderful week and can't thank you enough!

Great home away from home.

Lovely country living house with inviting pool. Owners help make you feel like you’re a good friend staying at their home. Internet strength was mediocre at best initially. We hooked up our own eero to modem and were then able to attend meetings and classes throughout property no problem, even from the sand in backyard. Can’t wait to return.

Cleanest house I’ve ever rented.

The house was so clean and neat! We loved our stay. We enjoyed BBQ by the pool which was so relaxing after a long day walking at San Francisco and the near by cities. It felt like a mini resort! Thank you for having us. Would definitely refer and stay here again.

Very nice home with great pool, we had a very enjoyable stay

The house fit our group of eight (4 adults 4 children) well. The children have to get along well, though as two share a bed each. The house is very well equipped, the yard and the pool VERY nice. Contact with the owners was very easy, pleasant and always prompt. The house is situated in a very nice neighborhood, close to stores and the downtown area of Novato and approximately 45 driving minutes from San Francisco. We enjoyed our stay a lot, we can definitely recommend the Kaplan’s home for a family vacation in the Bay Area!

Great Family Getaway

Beautiful home inside and out! Three generations enjoyed the indoor amenities (awesome beds and linens, fully equipped kitchen, piano, foosball, gaming) but adored the garden, pool and outdoor time the most. Very responsive owners - we had a few plumbing issues but they addressed them right away. Being from Tennessee I was at first concerned about no AC but now understand the area weather. The numerous windows let you invite the breeze in anytime and keep the home quite comfortable. We definitely recommend this home!

This house is located in a nice spot. Close to town and highways if you are going out and about. The pool was nice to have seeing as how we went during summer solstice. Except, the suggested 9 pm curfew is actually a strict 9 pm curfew. It wasn’t dark yet and we we’re reprimanded for staying out until 11 pm. I had been in communication with Brian the whole time until Stacy called me the first morning to let me know that we have to go in at 9. My family came from all over to meet there for a wedding in Sanoma, so we were all catching up. No music or loud noises. She ruined my second day there by calling me and reprimanding me. It was later the third day when I was able to talk to Brian, and he was much more understanding. By quirky I mean, the light switches are in off places, the garbage disposal switch is in a drawer, the upstairs shower is very small and I front of 2 large windows, for all to see you in your glory. We were also not notified of the tenants that live upstairs in an apartment above the garage. We felt like we were walking on egg shells ever since the call from Stacy. We ended up leaving a night early because we didn’t feel comfortable, even though we paid a significant amount of money, so that was a shame. Our one vacation a year, and getting together with the whole family and we all just wanted to leave. I would not rent the house again just because of that fact. Lesson learned.

Great house for a larger group.

Brian was great to work with from the very beginning. During our stay we contacted him a couple of times with a couple of issues and he responded very quickly. We were in Novato for my sons wedding and we had the rehearsal dinner at this house and it worked out perfectly.

Beautiful home

This home is beautiful with lots of things to keep the kids busy both inside and out. There is a playground about a quarter mile from the house which is another bonus. The beds were all very comfortable!

Comfortable, relaxing family retreat

Our family of six really enjoyed our week at the Kaplan home. The house is beautiful and comfortable - lovely features with a lived-in feel that that put you right at ease. It was easy to cook in the well-stocked kitchen and everything worked as it should. The outdoor space was what really made our stay fun. The kids swam in the pool every day, we enjoyed the outdoor fire pit and play areas. The view was what made it over-the-top gorgeous - sunsets over the water and the hills were exquisite! We hope to be back in future summers. The location is very convenient and we appreciated easy access to groceries, shopping, outdoor adventures and dining. Next time we hope to make use of the kayak and get out on the water. It may help to know that while this is a kid-friendly space we had to be very vigilant with our three-year-old as many of the family's personal items are in easily accessible cabinets and drawers. The home is welcoming of children, but not really child-proofed, which worked okay for us but definitely kept us on our toes. Thanks for a lovely stay!

Relaxing Quiet Family Stay minutes from SanFran

This is a great family home with many unique options for kids of any age. Uniquely located just 20-25 minutes north of SanFran, you get to enjoy access to Napa, Muir Woods, the bay and more. Local access for tourists is actually faster from this vantage point than any points south or East. A quiet, easy going spacious home and yard. We grilled out most nights, ate by the pool, played ping-pong and basketball, kayaked, jumped on the trampoline, biked, walked on great nearby trails, worked out with weights - and everyone had nice space for their own bedrooms, and the parents enjoyed quiet time while the kids kept active. It is located along a creek that takes in the tide each day, and if you're fit you can kayak to the ocean, or enjoy the nearby lagoons, and most of all the chirping of frogs, great sunsets, amazing birds and more. We did some fishing nearby as well (and caught a few!). Kitchen is adequately stocked, and we cooked often as this saved money. Stores are just a few miles away, Safeway, Costco, and more. Linens and towels are plenty, and felt clean and the beds comfortable. The home is just that - a lived in home, so don't expect perfection (if you do get a hotel), as all homes have some wear and tear, but if anything went wrong the owner was immediately responsive to texts, and generous to share his recreation equipment, and other amenities of the family home. Was a great find - at a price very competitive to anything nearby, with many more options for enjoyment! We had to pull ourselves away some days to get down to tour San Fran! The owner is completely trustworthy and top shelf in his integrity and demeanor! Oh yeah, life here will give you some lemons, so pick a few from the backyard tree and make some freshly squeezed lemonade!

Great home for Big family holiday

Too cold to use the pool but we did get to go Kayaking, used the Fire Pit. The two TV's came handy. Plenty of room for family of 6 adults and two children. Great time had by all.

Family friendly, good location

We had a great time staying at this house. Brian could not have been more helpful and was easy to contact. The pool is great and the view is lovely. The beds are different from the description and there are now no single beds but Brian brought us an airbed to use, thanks Brian!

Great home

This was a fun home for our family with ping pong, pool, fire place, quiet neighborhood, and did I say pool. The owners live here so all of their belongings are in the home which is interesting for a vrbo rental. Overall it was a good stay.

There was no closet space . Kitchen stockrd but the drawers & some areas were not clean

Pool was great . Did not like having to move cars for owner to get their vehicles out of the garage multiple times
