Our home is the only 2-bedroom, 2-bath Windsong rental, thoughtfully designed for one or two couples who want privacy, comfort, and a peaceful North Shore retreat ā€” without the size and cost of the larger 3-bedroom units.

With a bedroom and private bath on each floor, couples enjoy their own space while sharing an unforgettable Lake Superior experience.

Lake Superiorā€™s North Shore has no end of beautiful places to be surrounded by nature. Fresh air and sunshine are good for body, mind, and spirit. Come up north ā€” it will do you good.

This is our privately owned vacation home, not a corporate rental. When we're not there, it is our pleasure to share it with fellow North Shore lovers. Every piece of furniture and art was hand selected to provide a beautiful and comfortable home to return to after a day of exploring.

A dramatic two-story wall of windows facing Lake Superior lets you enjoy the sights and sounds of this incredible body of water ā€” mesmerizing in every season.

Our home is perfect for one or two couples, with two bedrooms ā€” one on each floor ā€” each with a connected bath for privacy and quiet.

Our amazing view and ideal location sometimes attract inquiries from travelers with a 5th or 6th person. Rather than turn them away, we provide twin air mattresses so we can accommodate up to six guests, though two couples tend to find the layout most comfortable.

Outdoor Adventure in Every Season

The Gitchi-Gami State Trail begins at the top of Windsong Drive ā€” walk or bike to Split Rock Lighthouse and Gooseberry Falls. Palisade Head and Tettegouche State Park are just a few miles up Highway 61.

Spring, summer and fall bring endless ways to explore the North Shore. Hike miles of breathtaking trails along the Superior Hiking Trail, chase waterfalls at Gooseberry Falls and Tettegouche, bike the scenic Gitchi-Gami State Trail, or search the beaches for Lake Superior agates. Paddle quiet coves by kayak, take a charter fishing trip on the big lake, or simply relax on the shore and watch the waves roll in. Autumn brings a chance to take "Fall color tours" that are truly unforgettable.

Winter brings a quieter kind of beauty to the North Shore. Guests enjoy miles and miles of nearby cross-country ski and snowmobile trails. The Midwestā€™s best downhill skiing is just 40 minutes away at Lutsen Mountains. Gooseberry Falls and Split Rock both offer beautiful groomed trails perfect for cross-country skiing or snowshoeing.

There is nothing like spending time on foot, skis, or snowshoes in the quiet winter woods. Itā€™s good for the body, mind, and soul.

We had a wonderful stay. The house was extremely clean and cozy and the views of the lake are spectacular. Beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well supplied. Communication with the host was excellent and check in/check out was very easy. We had four adults staying for a long weekend and there was plenty of room and things to do. It was great being close to the State parks and agate hunting beaches. Thanks for letting us stay! We will be back!

We had a fantastic stay at Jo's property! Top-notch across the board. The location is great relative to sightseeing on the North Shore. Beautiful views of Lake Superior from both inside and on the deck. Peaceful and private - there was no one at the adjacent properties during our stay. Everything is labeled and clear instructions provided to use the shades, fireplace, whirlpool tub, etc. Clean and very comfortable, and Jo's communication is very responsive. Highly recommended!

The property listing was accurate. The facility is nicely, kept up and clean. The kitchen was well appointed and easy to use. The view was as good as expected. I would recommend the manager make arrangements to contact and someone for help if problems late at night possibly coming up with a marking for the address number to be more easily seen at night as the current one is invisible in the dark, even in auto headlights.

The place was very homey and all the furniture was comfortable. Though the kitchen was small it was extremely well stocked with pots, pans, dishes, etc. All the appliances worked well. Lovely view. Too bad the smoke haze made it not so clear on our visit. Very good location for the North Shore attractions. Host communicated well. It was one of the nicest vacation rentals we have stayed in. Highly recommend.

What a beautiful stay! We loved every single thing about this gorgeous home. The decor was so pretty, cozy, and welcoming. In addition, it was was very clean and incredibly well-stocked; we needed nothing but the food. The location was perfect and the evenings were so very peaceful. We were up early every day to enjoy the gorgeous view of the sun and water on the deck (which was really nice)!The property itself was easy to find and Jo's instructions were clear. We appreciated her suggestions for nearby attractions and to-do's.Jo was very responsive to my questions and we booked with total confidence. Beautiful Place of Blessings

We loved the view and the comfortable living room and deck furniture. Everything was very clean and lovely. The beds were comfortable and the fireplace was cozy. The location was convenient to state parks and Jo was great about communicating and answering questions. We all felt very refreshed and blessed by our time there and didn't want to leave!

This property was clean and inviting! Plenty of windows that allowed you to look at beautiful Lake Superior. The host, Jo, is detail-oriented and has thoughtful instructions posted to help you become acclimated and enjoy their home to the fullest. The double whirlpool tub is a bonus and you can still see the lake while sitting down and allowing the jets melt all your cares away. This townhouse is in a small community, not on a resort, and was quiet and private. We heard only waves and birds while inside. If you're looking for solitude with access to the parks and beauty of the North shore, I highly recommend booking.

Perfect setting

This is just a gem, located centrally so we could explore from Two Harbors up to Grand Marais and everything in between. Beautiful view of Lake Superior and the mornings on the deck with coffee were glorious. Perfect for a North Shore getaway. The hosts were great!

Location, location, location

The townhome is very nice and well appointed; comfy beds and a stellar view! We drove to 3 State parks and hiked till we were on exhausted. Check in and out very easy and communication was excellent. I love that instructions were readily available and easy to follow. Great place, we'll be back.

We are from the Twin Cities so Minnesota is home but there's NO place on earth like the north shore. We've been coming here for over 35 years, we even chose to get married on the top of Moose Mountain in Lutsen. Of course, we love the North Shore any time of year but much to our surprise, Winter is our favorite! We are snowshoers and we find that we are often the only ones on the trails, we LOVE the solitude! We snowshoe the same Superior Hiking Trails that we hike in other seasons and we marvel at how the view changes when the foliage is gone. It's incredibly beautiful and peaceful, we hope you'll try it on one of your visits. You can rent snowshoes next door at Cove Point Lodge, at Split Rock State Park or Beaver Bay Sports if you don't have your own.

Beaver Bay is easy to get to from the Twin Cities and it's a beautiful drive. Of course the view of Lake Superior was a huge draw for us, it's hard to believe it's a lake! Listening to the waves hit the rocks, watching the sun come up over the lake, stargazing over a pitch black lake, it's a soul refreshing place.

Our home is such a wonderful retreat, when we step inside, the weight of the world lifts off of our shoulders. You can see the lake as soon as you open the front door and it draws you to in and invite you to relax, look, listen, slow down. We really enjoy the proximity to so many incredible State Parks. Gooseberry Falls, Split Rock and Tettegouche are all within 10 miles. The Superior Hiking Trail and state park trails take you through forests, along rivers, past waterfalls, to inland lakes and along Lake Superior. If you prefer a stroll or bike ride to a hike, you can walk or bike ride for miles along the shore on the Gitchi-Gami State Trail at the top of Windsong Drive. Golfers, enjoy Lutsen's Superior National Golf course 27 holes of spectacular golf just 40 minutes away. The best downhill sking and snowboarding in the Midwest is also 40 minutes away at Lutsen Mountains. We never get tired of this place and start counting the days until we can return between guests.
