Welcome to the Kataluma Inn, a cozy cabin retreat in Idaho’s scenic Selle Valley.

Enjoy seclusion, mountain air, and abundant wildlife with easy access to hiking, skiing, and Lake Pend Oreille. Just 7 miles from downtown Sandpoint and the Schweitzer shuttle.

Features include a loft bedroom, parlor stove, heated bathroom floors, full kitchen, and covered porch.

Pet-friendly and perfect for a peaceful getaway year-round.

Down the private driveway, you will find the welcoming covered porch, perfect for sipping a favorite drink and relaxing.

Stepping inside, the craftsmanship and character of the space will make you feel as though you've stepped into the pages of a familiar storybook.

You will find everything you need including a full kitchen, smart Roku TV, dining area, full bathroom with in-floor heating, gas fireplace, BBQ, loft bedroom, fast Wi-Fi, Etc.

Outside, cozy up to the wood burning firepit to take in the starlit sky.

We had an amazing time at this cabin in the woods. It’s exactly what we needed to get away and make some memories together. We relaxed, enjoyed some outings to town and even went and saw the Kokanee. The kitchen was stocked with everything we could need for our weekend. Love the lights outside and peaceful location. We will be back! Thank you for the yummy cookies upon arrival as well. Such a sweet touch.

Real nice cabin in the woods. We enjoyed our stay. Our dog loved running in the woods. A nice doodle dog named Sunny came and visited each day. Not that far from town, and the cabin has everything advertised. Would definitely stay again.

It was the perfect cozy cabin in the woods. Fully stocked with all the necessities to make for a great visit. We loved the outdoor lighting for the fire pit area and walkways. There was fire wood ready with a fire starter - add a bottle of wine and let the memories begin! Oh, and let’s not forget the attention to details for our fur baby. This definitely is a dog friendly cabin. There is a trail around the property for your fur baby to fun free. I’m not sure who had more fun, us or a pup. We’re definitely planning to make this one of our annual stops.

A Beautiful and Relaxing Escape

The cabin was an idyllic getaway location! We stayed for our Anniversary, and were greeted with kind hospitality. The cabin itself was beautiful, comfortable, and filled with sweet and thoughtful little touches. We were so happy to stay, and so thankful we were able to visit. What a fantastic stay in the woods! The property was close to Sandpoint and we went back and forth to town several times a day. Lots of attention to detail, a sense of welcome, hospitality, and warmth enveloped us from the moment we set foot in the door. The perfect cozy cabin getaway for two.

Amazing!! From the time we pulled up, we knew we made the right choice. This adorable little cabin was perfect for a quick get-away for the two of us. Super clean, quiet and private...with lots of little touches to make our stay special. Kendra and Tyson have thought of everything and are fantastic hosts. Great location too...nestled in the forest, yet just a quick drive to Sandpoint. We hope to be back again!!

Tyson and Kendra moved to Sandpoint, ID in 2019 but have called the greater Northwest home our entire lives and have spent years visiting this beautiful location. Our favorite things about Sandpoint are the access to the outdoors it provides. We love to Ski, hike, bike, and be in or around the lake as much as possible in the summer.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

The design of this cabin began long ago in our imaginations but officially began to take form around 2019. We broke ground in the Spring of 2020 and put the final touches on it in the Fall of 2022.

Most of the building was done by Tyson with a construction background provided by YouTube “University” and a bit of trial and error. It certainly couldn’t have been done without the relentless support of Kendra allowing Ty to spend countless weekends and late nights “down at the cabin.” This project also would not have been possible without the dedicated support and help provided by our dads toiling away for only room & board (and time with the grandkiddos).

This space was created with the intention of providing guests a unique and cozy space; reminiscent of something you’d find in the pages of a favorite book. We hope you find this space relaxing and nourishing to your soul.
