Beautiful home in Historic Banker's Hill

Hidden away on a quiet cul-de-sac, this 1917 home in Hillcrest/Bankers Hill neighborhood has over 2,000 sq. ft. of living space and offers all of the modern amenities for your stay in San Diego. Balboa Park is 7 blocks away. The home's large and comfortable living room, dining room and charming backyard are perfect spots to recharge after a day of sightseeing. This is not a child friendly home. As our personal residence, there are many family pieces, original art work, and antques. We’ve been renting the home for over 10 years, and the only problems we’ve had are families with children.

The home is beautifully furnished with comfortable furniture and original early California paintings to fit the period of the home. Again, children should use caution and should be supervised. This home is not your typical vacation rental. The home was originally owned by Thekla Heath, a prominent scenic designer and local artist in the 1920's known for hosting artists and actors performing at the local Balboa Park and Downtown theaters.

The kitchen offers a Viking 6 burner range with a griddle (great for pancakes on a lazy day) and two ovens, a super quiet Meile dishwasher, and a wine refrigerator . Don't want to cook? There are some of the best breakfast spots and restaurants in San Diego a short walk or drive from the house.

We purposely left the TV's in the bedrooms so the living room and dining room can be a place the family can gather without TV noise.
Each of the bedrooms has their own TV, and the Master Bedroom and Den have 42' flat screens and DVD players. The Master bath has double sinks and extra large walk-in shower. The guest bathroom has it’s original Orchid colored bathtub! There is a Half bath off of the kitchen. The home has washer, dryer and wifi. The Outdoor patio has a gas BBQ, outdoor table for six with additional outdoor seating. The closest market is Whole Foods but Trader Joe's, Vons, Lazy Acres, Ralph's, wine shops and cheese shops are all close by.

Many of the homes in Banker's Hill are designated as historically significant - check local listing for Garden and Home tours. It's walking distance to Balboa Park and the many museums there. Only 5 minutes to the famous San Diego Zoo, 10 minutes to Sea World, San Diego Convention Center and the Airport but the home is secluded and quiet.

The great restaurants and night life of Hillcrest, Banker's Hill, Little Italy, the Gas Lamp District, Seaport Village and San Diego Convention Center are just 3 to 10 minutes away; not to mention the great shopping at Fashion Valley. Beaches and the bay are also close by, and we're freeway close for trips to nearby La Jolla, Del Mar, Coronado, Legoland and all that San Diego has to offer.
