Welcome to the charming town of Columbus. A few blocks from the town square is an idyllic cottage, designed by Barry Moore, tucked away in a grove of trees and on the Colorado River. With timeless, traditional styling, this home offers the feel of privacy, peace and tranquility. Stepping through the front entry, you will love the stylish, yet casual open floor plan, generous room sizes and a kitchen perfect for making dinner for 2 or entertaining. Wonderful screened porch, with the river below, offers abundant wildlife viewing... deer, birds and the like! A home like this is sure to be enjoyed.

We are within 3 blocks of downtown, 8.8 miles to The Big Easy, 25 miles to Round Top, 13 miles to The Vine, and 14 miles to New Ulm.

The 1645 sq foot cottage offers a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, bed linens, bath products, wifi, and central air and heat. Views from the wall of windows are sure to be relaxing as you watch the river flow.

Absolutely beautiful! Everything about this property was perfect. We were able to cook all our meals at the house, with no issues, because the kitchen was well stocked with any item we needed. The two bedrooms have great mattresses and we all slept well. The home was also decorated like a magazine, and the view from the house was so serene and peaceful that we didn’t want to leave. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay here again. Thank you for sharing your home!
We loved watching all the deer on the river’s edge.

Great house!

We stayed at the house this weekend and threw a bridal brunch for a close friend before her wedding. The house had ample space and was great for entertaining! The kitchen was well stocked with supplies needed to cook as well. The guests could not stop raving about how beautiful the house was and the incredible view!

This is by far my favorite VRBO! The owner thought of every detail you could need for overnight stay. Our favorite part was sitting on the screened in porch watching the deer and listening to the river.

Best Experience Ever!!!

My daughter-in-law and I stayed in this Amazing home while going to the Round Top Antique Show. The home is even more beautiful than the pictures! Our host was very helpful when the air conditioning wasn’t working. She was there to check on the problem instantly! Then had it repaired and house was cool when we returned! The property is beautiful with the views of the Colorado River right off the back screened in porch. We had a hard time even wanting to go inside. Everything about this home is Perfect! Such a beautiful, cozy house right by the Colorado river

We spent a relaxing couple days with our family at this beautiful, cozy home. Our host was very nice, welcoming and we were able to reach her whenever we needed. The house is immersed in nature. Our kids loved looking at all the wildlife - we saw deer and lots of birds including egrets, a great blue heron, even a bald eagle. We would love to go back soon!

Refreshing

We had a wonderful weekend just relaxing at this beautiful cottage! The view in the back of the Colorado river was mesmerizing and peaceful. The back porch was my favorite place, though it's all very nice. The owner, Sherry, went above and beyond to answer my questions during the reservation process and made us feel welcome after arrival, a great hostess!

Perfect home and location

We were in Columbus TX visiting family for Christmas. This home is a big WOW! The decor is designer-casual with a huge kitchen/dining/living room space. There are two beautiful bedrooms, each with en suite bathrooms. The screened porch overlooking the Colorado River is definitely a favorite space for relaxing, wildlife watching and good conversation. The host lives nearby and is a wonderful communicator. The quaint little town of Columbus is within walking distance. The kitchen is well stocked, linens and furnishings are high end. The lovely dining table seats 8 comfortably, while the living area has a huge TV and comfy furniture for lounging. We had a wonderful stay! A+++

Perfect Getaway

I rented this home for the Thanksgiving holiday week, and I couldn’t have been more pleased with my choice. This beautifully appointed home has a gorgeous view right on the Colorado River and is nestled on a very peaceful, private property. I cooked and hosted a holiday meal, and the house had everything I needed to make it happen. Even my guests remarked on the beauty of the home. The property owner made herself available to us if we needed anything during our stay. We will definitely stay here again! ❤️

The best weekend getaway!

We had a magical weekend at this house. We were a little apprehensive about booking at a new property that did not yet have any reviews, but we took a chance and I'm so happy we did. The house is gorgeous and spotless - even better than the pictures. Its location was perfect - it is secluded and right by the Colorado river, but it is also just a few minutes' drive to the town center or restaurants or grocery store. Sherry was so helpful, accommodating, and easy to reach. We can't wait to return.
