Our studio is 3.5 blocks to Silver Beach and 2 blocks to downtown! Once you get here you don't need a car! As a matter of fact you can take the Amtrak to St. Joseph and walk 3 blocks to our location. We are walking distance to the beach, downtown (2 blocks), shopping and restaurants. It is is the perfect location to getaway for a romantic or family vacation! This is a corner lot with a yard and off-street parking!

Very outdated

This place is very outdated. Old furniture, lacking in kitchen supplies ex: glasses. No door between living space and sleeping space. Unable to open sofa bed unless table is moved. Is really only appropriate for college kids wanting to crash somewhere. Has potential to be a nice place. It is in a great location. Host was very attentive when old air conditioner was broken and he replaced it the next day.

Matt, thanks for staying with us and leaving a review! We appreciate your acknowledging our responsiveness to your concerns. However you never mentioned that there were glasses or supplies missing in the kitchen otherwise we would have replaced them. As for the sleeper sofa, typically you do have to move furniture to take advantage of them, that is the benefit of saving space. Lastly we have priced the studio to reflect the size and condition being thatit is an 1800s building.

Quaint little getaway

Property is small. I thought I was getting a bedroom and set of bunk beds. However, there is a queen sleeper sofa as you enter (must move table to pull it out) and no door to the bedroom. The owner was great about telling us where to find sheets (had to access another part of the property), as they weren't onsight. I gave this property a chance due to price and location in hopes it had been updated from older reviews. It has NOT and any concerns mentioned are still true, including no extra TP.

Melissa thank you for staying with us and for leaving a review. You mentioned the size of the unit and that there was no bunk beds. Our description of the property is accurate as there are two rooms, one being a bedroom and the outer room being the kitchenette with a sleeper sofa. We never said their was a bunk bed or multiple TVs (assuming that is what you meant by TP).

As always we had a Super Vacation at the Nice Studio....

As a yearly "regular" at the nice studio in Downtown St. Joseph, Michigan...we can only say that each and every time we stay there the times there get better. The owner is fabulous and responds if and when times are necessary (but very seldom needed as the unit is always clean and comfortable. The parking in the lot on the property makes for an easier place to stay without the headaches of street parking in the busy tourist area. The beach is just a short walk or drive away. The fun shops in town are awesome. We have reservations for next year AGAIN. b/d

Great Location and Nice Room

This a perfect rental for a single person or even a couple. Me. Moore is a fantastic host. Loved staying here for 6 months!

the studio unit in St. Joseph

Once again we enjoyed our stay at the studio unit near downtown St. Joseph, Michigan. The rental unit was clean and it worked for us again this year. Our plans are made for a return next year as well. The owner is very cooperative and personable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. bnd

Comfortable!!

It is perfectly located next to silver beach and walkable distance to the resurants, i stayed there for three months, and Torrence was great host, very responsive if i had a question in anything .. i highly recomend the place ..

Good Exerience here again!

We've enjoyed the rental here, and especially enjoyed the greatly improved Wi-Fi service. The owner is always available when needed for answering or attending to any needs or reasonable requests. We also like the policies of no-pets, non-smokers. We are returning again. b/d

Small, useful and in downtown St. Joe

The owner quickly responded to any questions I had. The main reason I'm going with 4 stars instead of 5 stars is due to the off-street parking. Getting in and out of the parking area with my sedan was difficult. It's low to the ground and often scraped when pulling in and out. I had to be very slow and very creative when pulling in and out of the area. If you have a truck or SUV it shouldn't be much of an issue.

Location great! Bed old, covered with plastic and very uncomfortable. Heat controlled by another unit. Had to use stove for heat! Otherwise small but doable!

Thank you for your review of our property. However, the bed is only four years old. I assume the plastic referred to is our mattress pad over the bed. If it is uncomfortable, we would have no problem taking it off during your stay. The thermostat is not in accessible to the tenant but the heat is kept at 71 degrees. Previous visitors have commented on how warm the studio is!

Cozy Getaway

Stayed in this studio in August 2014. Owner was helpful and friendly. Location was ideal. Was able to park the car and walk to the beaches, downtown and area attractions. Hope to stay here again next year.

Wonderful, charming apartment

I stayed here in June 2014 and felt comfortable and at home from the first moment. I found the apartment charming and brought some personal items to make it mine. I loved the kitchen. Everything worked great. The bed was very comfortable. The location is ideal. It's a quick walk downtown and to the beach. I enjoyed sitting outside on the porch and walking through the charming neighborhood. I hope I get to stay here again.

Once again, another nice time at this studio.

Enjoyed our time at the studio. We were there for the entire month of July 2014. We will be there again for the month of July 2015. Handy, clean, and a new flat screen television. Also a great deck to enjoy the outdoors.

Studio stay July 2013

Once again my wife and I stayed at the studio. It was handy for walking to the beach, town, and other places of interest. The owner is a friendly person that is very helpful when and if needed. We have reserved the studio for all of July 2014. Our stay in July 2013 was super!

Great Studio ....Convenient....Tourist Town (St. Joseph, MI) and Beach a few blocks away!

Wife and i rented this handy studio for the whole month of July 2012. It is just a couple of blocks away from the beach, shopping, downtown St. Joe, and much more. The rental has linens, towels, kitchen needs, stove, microwave, dishwasher and refrigerator. We enjoyed the deck that overlooked several trees,green lawn, and occasionally some friendly tourists, walking to the beach. The owner and his wife were friendly and helpful when needed. We reserved our stay for next year for the full month of July 2013. Give the place a try, and you will return again as well.

Great Place right by downtown!

This rental was a perfect for my needs. The location is great, right by downtown and the beach. The neighborhood was very pleasant and safe. The off-street parking was great, as the streets tend to fill up with cars from beach-goers. There was always something going on downtown in walking distance from the rental. The owner was great and easy to work with and answered all my questions and concerns. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others

Highly recommended!!

We stayed at this property during the first two weeks of December 2010. First, I have to comment on the owner of the property. He was so professional and kind, and he quickly responded to questions (even ones I had asked multiple times!). I would happily work with him again. The listing doesn't do the location justice. The location of the property is ideal. We were there during the week the Christmas lights came on in St. Joe, and it was an easy, short walk to the event and downtown. The whole street was lit up, music playing. Add that to a cup of hot cocoa at Tosi's, and it was a great evening! And, having off the street parking was SO nice because we never had to fight for a spot. It snowed almost the whole time we were there, and the temps were pretty cold. But, the unit was nice and warm. And, enough blankets were provided that we were very comfortable. The streets were plowed by the time we woke up each morning, so no issues getting in or out either. The place was very clean. My hubby is a big guy, and he and I fit comfortably sleeping in the main bed. The pullout bed would be most comfortable for 1 adult or two younger kids (we had two kids sleeping on it and they did fine). We used the fridge and the microwave - both of which were in perfect working order, and looked fairly new. We were there visiting family, so I didn't have a need to use the stove or cookware. There were plenty of dishes and silverware, and the dishwasher worked great too. We plan to come back sometime (in the summer this time!), and we'll definitely be making a repeat stay at this location!!

This is the perfect location... it is in walking distance to everything: 2 blocks to all of the shops and restaurants downtown; 3.5 blocks to Silver Beach; across the street from Krasl Art Center and the Library; two blocks to the Curious Kids Museum; and only a 90 minute drive from Chicago. St. Joseph also has great activities throughout the year!
