Quiet Cabin on the Thunder Bay River

Quiet setting for this 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom cabin on the Thunder Bay River. Only 5 minutes from the community of Hubbard Lake, and 3 minutes from the North End Public Access to Hubbard Lake, one of the best walleye inland lakes in Northeast Michigan. Hubbard Lake also boasts of great swimming, boating, picnic areas, and restaurants. The cabin has 3 bedrooms, and can easily sleep 6 guests. The open floor plan allows lots of space for a family gathering - card playing, board games, and quiet reading areas. Out door fire pit on the banks of the river, and lots of wildlife in the area.
Guests will enjoy watching the water fowl and the deer at the rivers edge from the deck. Just listening to the sound of the river passing by is relaxing and inviting. The Thunder Bay River is a great kayaking river, and guests can put in at the cabin, and kayak 2, 4 or 6 hours to destinations along the river.

Pleasant stay

The host took great care of us. The place was ready and included welcome items. Plenty of room for everyone. Loved the sound of the river.

Perfect Stay

We had the best time at this little cabin on the river. Perfect place for a family fet away. The kids loved playing in the river and the baby fawns that were close by as well! Short drive to Alpena and Lale Huron! Highly recommend and would definitely rent it again!

Relaxing getaway

We stayed for a week and enjoyed every day of it! We had everything we needed and plenty of space for a family getaway. Kelli is an awesome host and had everything ready for our arrival including some snacks and plenty of fire wood for nice fires making smores. There are many things to do within driving distance including some great beaches on Lake Huron. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cabin to anyone looking to stay in the Hubbard Lake area.

A piece of heaven

Beautiful setting in the woods along the river. Perfect for floating or just sitting in the water with a drink in hand! Perfect escape from the rush of daily life.

Great place

Overall great stay. The pictures were alittle different and bedrooms were different as well. Updated pictues should be added. Location was amazing and exactly what we were looking for! Nice and quiet. Plenty of towels and blankets which are a must for us! Kelli is a great host and responded quickly every time. Definitely recommend!

We were thrilled to be on the Thunder Bay river. My family likes to fish off the dock. It is shallow at this point and peacful. We were able to use one kayak. The second kayak was too filled with rain.water and too heavy for us to turn over and drain it. The deck is a lovely place to sit or eat and watch the river, except that the seat cushions were soaked with rain water also. I suggest a deck storage box to store the seat cushions when not in use. this will keep them dry and ready for use. The property is beautiful and wooded. The home is comfortable and well equipped, esp. the kitchen. We were able to cook our breakfast each morning, watch movies comfortably in the evening, and sleep very well with 3 bedrooms and comfortable beds. Our host was very responsive and generous, gifting us with yummy Michigan products,goodies. Thank you for a memorable family time in Michigan.

Lovely Quiet Getaway

Kelli is such a wonderful hostess! She had the sweetest welcome gift waiting for us (delicious local treats even!) and the best detailed welcome card and list. She did not steer us wrong on any of her suggestions for food or things to do. The firewood was stocked and ready for us to enjoy our evenings outside. The river is such a calming presence, so having a place to sit on the dock is very relaxing. My family enjoyed playing card games and making s'mores in the evening. There were plenty of pillows and blankets. The location was really nice in the sense that we were close enough to downtown Alpena when we wanted to get something, but far enough away to enjoy quiet. It turned out to be super helpful that a Dollar General was nearby. Kelli was very communicative as well... that was very helpful! We would definitely recommend Kelli's Quiet Cabin on Thunder Bay River.
