An idyllic setting
Our week in this cottage was like a preview of Heaven! It was absolutely idyllic. We heard the Loons every evening while sitting by a cozy fire. Don't change anything!

Perfect place of peace
Our stay was too early for foliage and the local foliage festivals but instead we had beautiful warm air and breezes with cool evenings. It was wonderful to spend quiet time on the deck or dock or if it rained or was too cool, being inside was a pleasure as well. We've never experienced sunsets as beautiful as those from the deck. Our hosts made sure that the cottage was well equipped with anything we might need. The next time (and we are planning on another year) we know that except for personal things, there is little we need to take. We were able to enjoy great hikes and walks in the area. The glacial erratics are amazing allowing us to ponder how our earth evolved. Although there are plenty of places and things to see and do in the Northeast Kingdom, if you are looking for wide flat screen TVs, internet and cell service in the cottage, this is not your place. However, if you are looking for a place to re-create and find yourself and soul again, we recommend it heartily.

Charming place to spend a vacation
Four of us from the Midwest spent a week in this charming lakeside camp during peak foliage color. The camp itself is very clean and super comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed just hanging out on the dock, the deck, or enjoying the view from inside. We really had a good time taking in the fall foliage festivals in the surrounding small towns. Groton State Forest is very close and offers a variety of interesting hiking options and amazing scenic views. Farther away attractions we took in were the Shelburne Museum and Mt. Washington. We never ran out of things to do, but, if we did there was a lot of information about nearby activities and attractions in books and folders at the camp. The owner was very helpful in answering questions about the best time to visit, how to get to the camp, and in making sure we had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend this property to our friends and relatives - in fact, we already have! This is a beautiful part of the state, and a perfect place to stay to enjoy it.

Great Place
- a very well-equipped, appealingly furnished cabin with excellent views of the lake (including sunsets!) both from the large deck and from the front window-wall. The cabin is also tucked in among some amazing large glacial boulders (think ferns/lichen) wch delight anyone with a naturalist or geological bent. Our family still hope to experience some early-fall time (September) there when school is no longer an issue - the cabin is so well insulated/heated (electric + large fireplace) that chilly nights would not be a problem.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade
Our parents built this camp as a summer cottage when Dad retired in the late ‘60s. Over some 50 years five generations have enjoyed many weeks each season swimming, hiking, biking, playing games at the dining room table, eating great food, and watching innumerable sunsets in this beautiful spot. The camp is open from June through September, with family members occupying most of those weeks. We do enjoy enabling others to enjoy the place when no family is there.
This is a vacation home for couples and small families who enjoy peace and quiet, love the outdoors, and don’t need constant access to shopping malls, and fast-food restaurants. We do have internet access, receive only a few TV stations, and have very spotty cell phone service. So if this sounds like your kind of vacation, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we would welcome your considering spending a week on beautiful Peacham Pond!
