Charm Galore near downtown Waynesville

This a charming property oozing with character is in a great location near downtown. The owners literally thought of everything and we were impressed with the thorouhgness and organization. We had a great stay in this lovely property.

Wonderful Waynesville stay

The first impression is that the place is rambling...but after gaining a little familiarity, we found it rambled in a good way. A way that made it special. The property evokes a Frank Lloyd Wright vibe with sight lines to the outdoors throughout. The views are of beautiful trees and mountains...yet the walk to town is easy. Perfect location. The owners have blessed the guests with many small courtesies including handmade pottery and other hand crafted pieces. It is beautifully and comfortably furnished and it's obvious that the home has been loved and well cared for many years. Our stay was for four nights and we enjoyed each and every day.

Book club getaway

This is a delightful house, it has all you could ask for, rural but close to town, equipped with all you would need, it is furnished tastefully with very interesting antiques, the 8 of us enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it .

It was everything we expected and more. All the conveniences of a hotel and more. Epitome of cleanliness, convenience and amenities. Highly recommend if you plan to stay in Waynesville. The sleeping accommodations are comfortable and easy access to the town. Thank you Matthew.

Betty’s Place has been in the family for 75 years. My parents bought the original three-room house in 1948 and added the living room and bedroom wing in 1955. My mom lived in the home for 74 years until she passed away in early 2022 at the age of 98. In late 2022, my wife and I purchased the house that I grew up in from my two brothers. We have spent the last nine months working on the house to share this unique property with folks like yourselves. There are a few portraits of my two brothers and myself in our younger years throughout the house. We hope you will enjoy this property, treating it as your own during your stay, as we try to preserve this gem for generations to come.

This house is conveniently located 0.5 miles from lovely downtown Waynesville, North Carolina on a secluded wooded 2.2-acre lot. There is plenty of parking which also includes a covered carport and additional back driveway into the property. The outdoor patios are a wonderful place to relax, grill and eat meals while enjoying the beautiful views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. There is also a firepit for the cool evening! This home is perfect for entertaining with family and friends.

We have tried to update the house with modern conveniences while preserving the unique style of the original home. It is very tastefully decorated with some new and vintage pieces. The rock work on the fireplace, the polished brick flooring in the downstairs bedrooms and the hardwood flooring and ceiling throughout the house are absolutely spectacular. I can honestly say there is not another home like this one.
