Our stay at Goose Island was amazing! The house has everything you need for a fun weekend away and was spotlessly clean! The host was kind and responsive. She even allowed us a late checkout after a wedding weekend which was super helpful. You won’t regret choosing this beautiful location!

Awesome house on one of the many Chesapeake Creeks! Gave beautiful mountain vibes while being on the water. Home is great with plenty to do. I think we spent most of our time fishing off the dock or on kayaks. Host had great communication and was helpful throughout the process. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. Can’t say enough good things! Fantastic beach bar about a mile or two away that was really fun. Overall it was a 11/10 experience. Highly recommend. Our group wants to go back.

One of the best VRBO experiences ever! From our first interaction Lydia was so kind, thoughtful and communicative. She gave us great insights on the area, ideas on how to spend the weekend and thought of all the little touches to make it a great stay for us. We are so grateful and will be back! The layout is perfect for a family, especially anyone who needs a ground floor suite and there's plenty of space while feeling connected. We also really enjoyed the time on the water and the dock (despite some rainy weather) and also the cozy feeling of the house watching the rain outside. Lydia was also extremely generous in her time when a package we had ordered arrived late and helped us coordinate a return plan. Above and beyond and can't wait to come back to this special place :)

We had a SPECTACULAR long weekend!!!! Lydia was wonderful to work with. Communication was nearly instant including welcoming messages on arrival day. We arrived to find a hand written note. The house was very clean. Necessary items were labeled and easy to find. We made breakfast daily. Locating items in a strange kitchen prior to "coffee" can be a challenge, but the labels made everything easy.The layout of the house made for a comfortable stay. We had another couple join us for a little while, then our three children (2 sons & daughter-in-law-law) for the rest. There was great space for us to all be together, and there was also space for privacy if that was needed.We had a bit of a unique "need," that I felt Lydia helped to make possible. We have had the same boat for 25 years. Both of our sons grew up on the boat, literally, as that was the center of our recreation. We had spent a fair number of days anchored at the mouth of Fairlee Creek where the boys would swim, and my wife would float in an inflatable chair and read. Now that the boys are working adults, we wanted to share some of that history with our daughter-in-law. This property was the perfect solution, as we arrived by boat from the west shore making use of the solid dock on the property.We all agree that we will be back. We appreciated the attention to detail and communication of Lydia.Like the mat to the screened in porch states, "...leave as friends."

Excellent

Beautiful place! The property was beautiful and the house was very clean and nice! We caught some fish off the dock and the view from the house out into the water was amazing. Plenty to do on the grounds and if you’re looking for a nice place to get away too and relax this was top notch!

Stunning Property

This was the perfect house for my family! Plenty of space allowed for everyone to do their own thing. Enjoyed playing pool, using the court for pickleball, and of course the water sports. Great for all ages!

Cozy getaway

Beautiful home, scenic views, serene atmosphere. The house was cozy and inviting. We felt like we were at home. Plenty to do. The hosts were gracious, accommodating and very responsive. Can’t wait to go back.

Memorial Day Weekend Getaway

Beautiful property on the water with a well appointed home and really thoughtful extras. Lydia even contacted me to find out what type of breakfast treat we might like and had a box of delicious scones waiting for us. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing trip to the eastern shore of Maryland.

Rejuvenating Weekend

Fantastic family, friendly getaway. Incredible scenery. Phenomenal kayaking, canoeing spot. Spacious comfortable home. A wonderful screened in porch, deck, fire pit, large seating areas inside the home big kitchen, comfortable bedrooms. The master is on the main floor so easy to get to. The master bed is low to the floor, so it’s a bit difficult to get in and out of if mobility is an issue.
Owners dock.

Annual Crabbing and Fishing Trip

We were a group of three pair of brothers, all cousins/nephews to one another. We go annually to the Chesapeake Bay area for a weekend of crabbing and fishing. This year we stayed here for 4 nights over the weekend. The property is as described and pictured. We had an enjoyable and fun stay here. Plenty of space, both indoors and outdoors, for 6 guys!

Great House with Amazing Views

My group had an incredible time staying at Lydia's property. Lydia was so accommodating and communicative. The house is in really good shape - very clean, with a well-stocked kitchen and tons of things to do inside and out. The views from the kitchen, deck, and firepit are picture-perfect. Would love to return again sometime soon!

Awesome stay!

We had a great weekend at Fairlee Creek. The house is beautiful and spacious- so much for parents and kids to do including fishing from the dock, pool table, and an awesome time by the fire pit. The property is super private and host was communicative and helpful. Also worth a trip into Chestertown for shopping and lunch in a very sweet downtown. We’re already talking about when we can go back! Strong recommend!!

Relaxing Wooded Getaway with Stunning Views

We had a wonderful stay at this house for a birthday weekend trip! The house was incredibly cozy with plenty of board games to play and a clean, well-equipped kitchen. We enjoyed bird-watching on the patio, taking walks, and stargazing by night. This was such a great place to enjoy nature and quality time with friends. Plus, the hosts were very communicative and warm. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

fabulous place to relax

We had a fabulous stay. The house was very clean, had everything that we needed and there were lots of places to relax. My favorite place to relax was on the upstairs couch overlooking the water. We spent most of our time on the porch. It was a super hot weekend so we were very grateful for the A/C units. We spent a few hours exploring nearby Rock Hall and Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge. We would love to come back!

Great Experience

This property was just what we were looking for, quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. It was just far enough from Chestertown to feel secluded and just close enough that driving into town for a good meal was no big deal. The host was very easy to communicate with. There were no surprises.

An Oasis Within Reach

Lydia and John's property is just lovely. A great layout and space to feel cozy but also with room to oneself when needed. We used it all: the dock and family room, the patio and dining area... It was just so special that I hated to leave. We're already planning our next retreat, if they'll have us! Totally worth it:)

Stunning Views

We had the best time! The house had everything we needed for a fun and relaxing girls trip. The property was beautiful - very private with stunning views. The outside space was perfect for our group - we loved having coffee out on the deck and screened in porch, and enjoyed a crab feast on the outdoor picnic table. We also got to use the kayaks and canoe, and enjoy the hot tub. Lydia was an amazing host and was very quick to respond to any questions. We hope to come back sometime soon!

Lovely, clean property. Was counting on swimming off the dock which was not advisable, according to directions upon arrival. Taking boat out was dependent upon tides.

Dianne- Thanks for your feedback as it helps me provide the best possible experience for future guests. While we are on the water, we have found that our place is better for boating as the water is a bit shallow and muddy. I wish I would have known that your family was interested in swimming, I would have been happy to point you to some great swimming spots nearby at Tolchester Beach. I will add it to our guidebook so future guests know where to go! Thanks again.

Graduation weekend

We had a lovely stay at Lydias. It was our daughter's graduation weekend from Washington College. The home is just 15 minutes away from Washington College. The location of the house is serene and very relaxing. It was nice to go back and forth between Chestertown and graduation activities to this property to relax. Lydia even left a graduation gift for our daughter in the welcome basket!! Very thoughtful.

Labor Day

We loved Lydia and John’s house on Fairlee Creek and had a great time exploring the Creek and surrounding areas with our boat. Saying goodbye to summer is always hard but enjoying our morning coffee on the deck watching the sun come up, and family evenings by the campfire making s’mores, made that goodbye a bit easier. The house is exactly as described and well-appointed. Thank you for sharing your home with us!
