House and location were perfect! We enjoyed the backyard and kayaks with our family. Dock and access to the lake were very convenient for our boat. We had an incredible time!

Lake tapps

Great place accommodated my family great. We were in town for a wedding and location was great and easy to get to and from places. Very private and quiet. Great view of the lake.

Tapps vacation

Excellent property in a great location! The property is spacious and very clean with a big back yard. Amazing sunset views as well. The Host was very helpful with specific questions regarding docking a boat at the property as well as general information.

This house was everything we hoped for and more. Situated right on the lake with a large flat yard that is perfect for games. The house also exceed our expectations and had everything we neeeded for a weekend stay. We were pleasantly surprised at the interior and found it plenty roomy for 8 adults to cook and spend time together. We will definitely be back next year!

Great staycation for the family. Swimming out front of the property was fabulous. We did not end up using the boat launch as is was too tight with the size of our boat. There are tons of stumps under the water that at first seemed terrifying, but owners were great at helping us understand where to navigate, and was less stressful than we anticipated. Had everything we needed and kids LOVED kayaking and the little water trampoline just off the shore. Lots to explore!

It was a wonderful vacation for our family reunion. The property was perfect in size, location, set-up, amenities (kayaks and life jackets were great to have on the property), and the kitchen was nicely stocked with plenty of dishes, glasses, etc.Only suggestion: Master bath, stairwell leading downstairs, & outdoor lighting need light bulbs replaced, lower level vertical blinds did not work.We hope to return in the future.

Family Gathering

Due to its prime location and pristine setting, the “HomeAway” Lake Tapps House provided the ideal opportunity for my visiting family to experience the complete Pacific Northwest summertime experience we've grown to love and enjoy. The house was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-maintained. Highly recommend +. 5 stars!

Frequent VRBO customer and have never had to write a negative review. Great location and views. However, the entire location was covered with spider webs and spiders. I have photos of at least 50 large spider webs and that was not all of them. We killed 2 black widow spiders. Hornets nest near the area where kayaks are kept. Another hornets nest on the roof of the garage. Spider webs and spiders in the kayaks. Unfortunately the entire house needed repairs inside and out. Screens had holes which allowed lots of flies and some spiders to enter. No closet or dresser in the primary bedroom. Toilet and sinks in primary bathroom did not function properly. Sink in kitchen was cracked. Water damage in the living room ceiling. Homes in this area need regular repairs inside and maintenance to keep the safe for residents and renter. Lack of regular maintenance and pest control made the home almost inhabitable. Our grandchildren were with us and we were constantly worried about their safety. Home has potential but it would require a lot of money to bring the home up to even the basic standards of maintenance and safety guests pay for, expect and deserve. I hope the owners will take the time and money to make the the wonderful property it could be.

The guest stayed at our property for 8 nights around mid-August. Throughout during the stay, the guest did not inform us or VRBO about any of the issues until the night before the checkout date – 8th night of the stay at 8:20 PM. If anyone check-in to a property, and sees kind of issues called out in this review during the stay – wouldn’t you inform the owner immediately for rectification, and/or inform VRBO? Especially, if you see safety issue, would you continue to stay throughout without informing owner or VRBO. Note that black widow spiders are extremely rare in Western Washington, and the picture attached is definitely not that spider. We had guest stayed at our property immediately before and after this guest, both of them gave great reviews on other STR platform. We have 11 other reviews on VRBO, and 40 reviews on other STR platform. Our maintenance and cleaning staff takes great care of the house - interiors and exteriors. It is possible that some issue may have missed or sometimes things get broken during a guest stay. When that happens, we take prompt actions to rectify those.

Perfect Setting, Great House, Beautiful Sunsets!

We absolutely loved our stay at this property! The house was perfect - clean, spacious, fully stocked. The layout is great for for two families to spread out but also provides perfect gather spaces. The kitchen was fully stocked and had everything we needed to cook for and serve a group of 8. The lakefront setting is the best part about this property. The sunset view is AMAZING! Our family spent hours and hours in the water, kayaking, paddle boarding, and just floating around. We had a boat to explore the lake and discovered the most stunning view of Mt Rainier just around the corner. We cannot wait to go back and enjoy everything this property has to offer!
