Mexican Contemporary Beachfront with Infinity Pool

Welcome to Casa De Dos Perros, our paradise in Baja! The owners built this 3400SF home in 2006 to spend time in the winter, so no expense or personal comfort was spared. Our home has never been rented before, but it is a shame not to share this fabulous spot when we can't be there! We call our home a Mexican Contemporary due to its soaring 22' ceilings and the wall of glass doors that open to the fantastically beautiful Sea of Cortez. From the minute you come in the private front gate, prepare yourself for the stunning view once you open the front door. It's an infinite expanse of BLUE: the blue, all tile, infinity edge pool, and beyond, the open Sea of Cortez extending to the horizon... I don't think it gets any better than this!

If you like to cook like we do, this is the place to do it. Our well stocked kitchen has all of the appropriate utensils, knives, pots & pans, and small appliances to prepare anything possible. (If you don't like to cook, just call one of the many caterers for a delicious, reasonably priced Mexican buffet! The abundance of fresh fish from the Sea is amazing..) Just steps from the 8' island (with bar stools)is a propane, stainless steel barbeque. It is plumbed directly into the propane tank (no small bottles to run out during cooking!). Adjacent to this is another, outdoor bar that seats 6, and a large sunken, cushioned beach-wood burning fire pit. Our unique stainless steel, glass topped dining table seats 6-8 people.

Our home is on city supplied well water, purified with an ultraviolet filter system throughout the house. In addition, the kitchen sink is equipped with a reverse osmosis drinking spout.
Now with STARLINK internet!
In the living room, 12' of comfortable couches surround a 42' flatscreen TV with Firestick with vpn for streaming.. One additional TV are in the master bedroom.
All of our 3 bedrooms have king size beds, so our home is perfect for 2 or 3 couples. All bedrooms are upstairs with beautiful views and air conditioning when needed.

Los Barriles is a beautiful little town with the feel of real Mexico. Cows and goats roam freely amongst the residents and visitors! It is NOT Cabo San Lucas, but a serenely gorgeous area of stunning natural beauty, lovely sunrises and sunsets, superb hiking and biking opportunities and friendly relaxed folks. However, there are many day activities to choose from: snorkeling, kayaking from your beachfront, kite boarding and wind surfing, exploring via ATVs and of course, world class sport fishing.

We are located 4 miles north of the Los Barriles village, with 3 grocery stores, many restaurants and shops. We have several farms offering organic fresh vegetables, eggs and fruits!
We are friendly owners who are proud of our little town and will happily advise you of its many charms...just ask. We also are happy to send more photos.

Tenants will receive a rental agreement from my local property manager shortly after booking. You will have 3 days to review it and ask questions.
The contract will show a required damage deposit. Also air conditioning is expensive in Mexico and a deposit will be required in case of extreme use.
Our property manager meets you at here office in Los Barriles and shows you to the house. She is available if any problems arise during your stay.

Our time at Casa De Dos Perros was absolutely amazing. We loved sitting in the pool and staring out at the ocean. We woke up every morning to watch the incredible sunrises. The house is near the end of the housing addition so very quiet and private. We rented a UTV so trips to town were fun and easy. There are so many amazing restaurants in Los Barriles. Julie was super helpful, and Judy checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. We can't wait to come back.

Hidden Gem in Los Barriles

We loved our stay at Casa de Dos Perros. It was just the right spot for us after our pickleball adventures. The pool was fabulous and the outdoor shower refreshing. Watching the moon rise was amazing as well. We definitely plan to come visit again!

Great getaway

We stayed with our kids in early June and loved the house and pool. Beautiful view and relaxing time. We had Norma cook for us one night and it was fantastic.

Beautiful house with fantastic views.

Great property. Modern, clean and quiet with fantastic views. Well equipped kitchen and beautiful pool with fire pit. Perfect for a family vacation or just to get away from it all. I would highly recommend it.

12 days of amazingness!

The house and location were perfect for us; only 10 minutes from restaurants and activities, but very private and tranquil. The oceanfront is primarily what I describe as “river rock” or 4-12” stones, which for us was a plus…essentially zero thru-traffic. Because walking is less leisurely on the stones, there is no foot traffic or ATV traffic. We left our rigged fishing kayaks near the waters edge and had zero issues. The house was exactly as pictured and the owner and agent were superb in every way. We will be back. Superb!

Fantastic stay at Casa Dos Perros!

We have stayed in Los Barriles many times and brought 4 of our friends (Mexico virgins) to experience the Mexico that we know and love. This home was a perfect fit for the 6 of us, cooking all of our own meals, making use of kitchen and BBQ each day. The pool was a perfect escape after our swims, kayak trips and paddle boarding in the Sea of Cortez every morning. The owners were responsive when we had questions. Overall, our stay was everything we expected and we'd surely rent again if we came with a group. Thanks Susan for sharing your beautiful, comfortable beach home!

Better than described

Just left Los Barriles yesterday after 6 nights in this home. When we walked in the front door our jaws dropped as it exceeded our expectations. Throughout the process Julie and Judy were fantastic. The house is so well furnished that we needed nothing. Everything was in working order. There was nothing we did not enjoy while there and when we return to Los Barriles we will stay in this home again.

Gorgeous Getaway

We absolutely loved our stay, and we hope to be back. The property is absolutely beautiful, and if anything, the photos don't do it justice (and they are great photos!). Morning coffee on the patio by the pool as the sun gets higher, watching the pelicans swim by, and dinner and drinks as the moon reflects off the ocean and pool... 👏 We caught El Dorado on a fishing trip while we were there, and ate at home quite a bit. The kitchen is well-stocked with appliances, pots, pans, etc. There are three bedrooms, 2.5 baths, so very comfortable for a family or multiple couples, and so much space if people want to do their own thing. Julie, the property manager, is local and very available, and the owners are invested and very cordial from afar. It was our honeymoon and they took the time and effort to add a small congratulations cake to the fridge for our stay. There is a very complete welcome book that we took multiple suggestions from. We enjoyed Triny's and La Casita in town, and the beach in town is pristine and gorgeous. A couple things that aren't criticisms but just info, bring a streaming device if you are a news or sports person (although unplugging completely would be ideal, of course!). There is good wi-fi, but limited cable. And while we thought it was the perfect distance from town to feel like we had our very own hideaway, it's a few miles from the supermarket, etc, so it makes sense to stock up on basics if you plan to spend your time at the house. Highly recommended!

A wonderful experience

Great communication. Beautiful home. Fantastic location. Go to sleep to the sound of the waves. Hop into town for meals, but retreat back to the house for peace and quiet. Very clean with everything you would need for a comfortable home away from home. Owner and property manager were great. No complaints whatsoever. Thank you!!

Great!

Casa de dos perros was great! We spent a week here-very very quiet and wonderful place to destress. We ate a few times in town at El Viejo, Tío Pablo’s and Smokys. Great road ,Agua de la costa, to take walks along the coast- just watch out for ATVs. Two things to be aware-2 of the bedrooms share a full bathroom. The 1/2 bath is well situated off the living area downstairs. Also, there isn’t a closet or drawers in one of the guest bedrooms. This is a place that we would return to again and again. Thanks to Julie and Judy. Communication was very fast and efficient

Fantastic House - Beautiful location

We spent 2 weeks in the middle of July at this lovely home in Los Barriles. The house is perfectly situated on the Sea of Cortez with incredible views. We spent mornings watching the rays leaping from the water from the outdoor patios and pool area. The garden and grounds are immaculate and full of amazing plants and trees. The 3 bedrooms all have AC, which was very welcome in the middle of July! Beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and living room are spacious and well appointed. It was nice to have a dishwasher, as many other properties we’ve stayed at in Mexico lack that appliance. We cooked many meals and got plenty of fresh fish with the help of Cui, the pool and groundskeeper. Thanks Cui! The property manager Julie met us at the house to welcome us and answer questions. She was very helpful. The owner Judy took the time to check in with us after we arrived which was very thoughtful and most appreciated. Los Barriles is a charming small town with numerous wonderful restaurants, we especially enjoyed Campestre Trini. We would highly recommend this wonderful property for families or just a couple, like us. Thanks to all, for a great stay!

More than we expected

This place was fantastic! So much room, comfortable beds and the pool / deck was our favorite place to hang out. Julie was great at getting us setup with anything we needed. Was worried about only using A/C at night but it totally worked and got the rooms colder than most people like. Make sure you have Maria come cook for you but do it early since there are tons of leftovers. Quadman delivered quads right to the house and then picked them up the next day, highly recommended. Los Barriles will be a new stopping ground to get away and relax. Stop at duty free and grab your booze on the way down, 3 liters per person is allowed. Cheaper than the local grocery store which is pretty nice to get all our stuff to make breakfast. Kitchen was fully stocked with anything you need. Will definelty be back in the future and we'll worth the money

Just go!

Casa de Dos Perros is a beautiful home right on the beach north of Los Barriles. The home is designed beautifully, I wouldn't have changed a thing. It is very well stocked with kitchen utensils, storage containers, cutlery....etc. The bathrooms have tons of towels and beds are comfy. But if you are like us, you'll be living on the back patio!! The direct view across the Sea of Cortez is mesmerizing! The rays and dolphin a constant delight. There are multiple seating area to enjoy sun and shade, or and the birds!!! It's quiet, serene and close to town for whatever you want. I loved it!!

Our own spectacular private resort

After years of staying in resorts in Cabo, we searched for something off the beaten path, and a calm sea in which we could swim, kayak and paddle board, and we landed in paradise!! We were awed by this spectacular house, it’s private quiet location and amazing views from morning to night. Both Julie, the property manager and Judy, the owner, were extremely responsive and helpful in the check in process. We were so impressed that we had access to clean drinking water, good WiFi and 3 king size beds. Two of the bedrooms had spectacular views of the ocean and the other of the desert. The master was a gorgeous generous room with an outdoor shower which we all took our returns using. Bring your eye shades, or be prepared for waking up with the sunrise, which is absolutely worth waking up for. We’ve never seen anything like it. We loved sitting around the pool and sometimes hanging around in it, and the whole time we truly felt like we had our own private elegant resort. We struggled a little getting enough shade but again the owner was very responsive and will be supplying another umbrella. The rocks in front of the house were a bit challenging to get the kayaks in or to swim from, but a small little walk down the beach made for an easy entry into the water. One of our greatest joys from this home was watching the wildlife in the ocean. There was a rare boat that went by, providing a safe and pristine area for a lot of fish, rays, whales, etc. The snorkeling in front of the house was wonderful and you could see the bottom of the ocean from the kayaks because the water was so clean. Someone on a paddleboard we met said it was like paddle boarding over an aquarium. It helped that this home was a bit out of town and near the end of the road where houses were built, adding to the quiet and the privacy. We enjoyed a blend of cooking our own meals and eating in several wonderful restaurants in town. We were amazed that we could buy organic food and maintain our health standards. We spent a lot of time fantasizing how we could move to Los Barriles. Be sure to read the reviews below about this town and this home, because they are very accurate from our perspective. The Pickleball resort nearby was fabulous and a must for anybody who loves or wants to try this game. We will return to this wonderful place!! Thank you Julie and Judy!!!

Paradise, simply paradise

This gem is just the place to go to unwind and enjoy beautiful surroundings. The house is contemporary, clean, bright, just beautiful. The ocean view is mesmerizing! I never needed the TV!! The sleepy little town hosts so many affordable, delicious places to eat, why cook?? Went fishing with the recomend Kyiuu, and LOVED IT!! I almost hate to rave because I know I will return. It is PARADISE!

Beautiful home!

We loved this hidden gem. Such beautiful views of the sea from every room of this wonderful house. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful in Los Barriles. Explored the area on ATV’s that we rented for a day, delivered to the house. Saw a whale right out front while relaxing in the pool. Took one of the 3 kayaks out one day when the wind wasn’t so strong. Walked the beach every morning while enjoying the sunrise. Enjoyed homemade Mexican and seafood brought to us by Norma and her crew. Bought fresh lobster and shrimp from local vendor on street and cooked on grill, so delicious! Can’t wait to plan our next visit. Thanks for sharing your home!

Great Getaway

We highly recommend spending time at casa De dos Perros. The views are spectacular! The house was spacious, airy and beautifuly decorated. The kitchen had everything you could ever want. We were happy to learn the house had a purication water system, so no worries.One of my favorite things was the outdoor shower off the master bedroom overlooking the Sea of Cortez. A lot of time was spent by the inifinity pool. Sunrisres are beautiful. Las Barriles is a friendly town with good restaurants ( inexpensive). Farmer Markets were fun with fresh OJ and fruits sold on the streets Nice to have access to fishing boats and guides. the vacation was a five star experience. We are planning on returning .Thank you Steve and Judy

We live in Minnesota. By chance we rented the proerty and eventualy puchased the property from the original owners. Once we retire, our plan is to spend the entire winter in our new home in Baja. Because of our special home in southern Baja, we now define winter as any temperature below 70 degrees! We are very active and enjoy the exercise opportunities right out our door: biking, hiking, kayaking, kiting, snorkling, and fishing.

We searched most of the warm weather destinations for several yrs before settling into our little town of Los Barriles. While we met many interesting Americans in these communities, Los Barriles had everything we were looking for: calm, warm waters,a peaceful community of both Americans and Mexicans, close to a large airport and hospital, and most importantly warm weather in the winter! We have made SO many good friends in a few short years. The Mexican people are warm and accepting of our adopting their town as our second home. Here is a special spot where you can be as active and social as you would like, or sit quietly and read a book. Watching the ocean from our patio is especially wonderful~~there is always something jumping, a fish, a dolphin, a whale! The Sea of Cortez is abundant with life.

Heading up the beachroad north (right out our front door) via bike, foot or car, one rarely sees a person, perhaps a fisherman catching dinner..the sea and shoreline here is breathtaking, peaceful and exciting all at once. If you are lucky to come during a full moon, it rises over the water straight out from our house..so beautiful!
