After reading some reviews about this community i was apprehensive about the stay. But overall, this house was clean, quaint, and the community was fine. The house could use some cosmetic repairs, and it would have been nice to know that to get to the hot tub, you need to walk outside through the deck. (Mid-feb is freezing.). Joel was great to work with, and after all was said and done, everyone had a wonderful time. I would def stay here again
Perfect Poconos home!!
We booked this home for a quick NYC get-away for a group of 12. The entire process was seamless. Joel was quick to respond to questions/concerns within an hour's notice. The directions were clear & direct. The gated Community was clean. The home was very clean and in great condition! There were instructions for anything you could think of-Joel is very detailed :-). The home was literally minutes away from Camelback Ski Mountain and the Outlets. I Highly recommend this rental property. Our group was soo pleased we'd like to return very soon for a repeat.
This house was definitely disappointing. We came Friday night and the whole house smelled very musty/moldy...tried to open windows but mOst of them were not able to be opened. That night we realized that one bedroom in the first floor was completely wet on the carpet. Emailed the owner the next morning and he and his "cleaning lady" showed up to check it out . At first they tried to say that the carpet wasn't wet the day before!!! It turns out that the water heater broke and was leaking on the floor.. Looks like it had been like that for awhile. And we had no hot water to shower or do dishes. The owner was in and out the whole day Saturday..installing a new water heater and sucking water up out of the carpet. We didn't have hot water until Saturday evening! Not to mention that we had young children with us. One of my friends baby's eyes were swollen the next morning. I , myself , have asthma and woke up in the middle of the night having an asthma attack due to the poor condition of the house..furthermore the owner told me he would compensate for the "inconvenience" and then later told me he would reimburse me only $100 !!! That is insane since we wanted a 4 bedroom and only could use 3 bedrooms the whole weekend.. Friends who had driven HOURS to get there, decided to not stay the night.. It was embarrassing to me since I was the one to plan everything. I relyed on HomeAway because I have used them before and never had an issue...I will think twice when planning my next vacation
I received an email from this renter 10:55am stating the carpet was wet. I was there within an hour and discovered my water heater was broken. The water heater was heating the water but was leaking at a point that was not repairable. I purchased a new water heater and returned and everyone was out having a great time horseback riding while it was being installed. Everything was completed before the renter returned. I told the renter I will return in an hour to make sure everything is ok and there are no leaks. I returned to the beginning of a birthday party and bar b que and everyone having a good time at my home. I told the renter I will compensate her something for the inconvenience and she said ok. This renter then returns home and sends me an email stating that one of her guest didn’t pay her and she needs the money to pay bills this week and if I don’t compensate her because she is relying on this money she will write a bad review. I told her I don’t respond very well to threats and she has the right to write a review if she feels but as per our agreement you will receive your security deposit 2 weeks after your stay. Apparently she has bills to pay this week and my two week policy didn’t work for her and she needed more than I agreed to give her so she wrote an exaggerated review. There is a brand new 50 gallon water heater at my home now and will not have this issue again.
2 day get away - highly recommended.
The home was spotless and exactly as described in the website. The massive fireplace made the entire home cozy and the hot tub in the second floor deck made the secluded home paradise in the poconos. The home is centrally located 10 minutes from all the attractions of Mt. Poconos. Although there were only two of us, this rental home could easy accommodate 10 people comfortably. The owner was easy to reach I would recommend this home to anyone interested in a vacation get a way.
