Dancing Bear Den!
In recent years three siblings and their families have enjoyed and shared with you, our Tahoe tourists, a cute, knotty pine cabin named after our 'Papa Bear' who created our family legacy with a Tahoe cabin for summer and winter adventures.

Instead of Papa Bearā€™s Tahoe Cabin, however, we are so excited now to introduce our new cabin, Dancing Bear Den! The Dancing Bear Den is just a few houses away from our former Papa Bearā€™s cabin, still has a view of Lake Tahoe, and has more room ā€“ and a hot tub!!!

We are sharing the cabin with you to create your own memories - whether family vacation, couple's getaway, honeymoons or ski vacation. The access is fabulous, right on the highway so you won't get stuck in the snow, with a wide, level driveway that can fit four cars and a boat.

Lake View! There's a partial view of Lake Tahoe from the front deck, kitchen, dining and living room.

Features! The cabin can sleep up to 8people. There are two bedrooms downstairs, each with a queen bed, along with a full bath, washer/dryer, kitchen, and living room. There is a large loft bedroom upstairs, with two bunkbeds (full bed on bottom, twin on top) and a full bath. Paneled in knotty pine throughout, Dancing Bear Den is filled with the Tahoe bear dƩcor.

Dog Friendly! There is a completely fenced nice backyard to let your dog out.

No Smoking! Please don't rent this cabin if you are a smoker.

Close to resorts! The cabin is located in the middle of the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, close to Northstar, Homewood, Alpine Meadows and Squaw Valley, as well as Tahoe Cross Country Ski Center. Many more ski areas are within an hour's drive. There are beaches across the North Shore, public bus access right out the front door, restaurants and shopping within minutes.

This cabin opens the door to a wonderful world of Tahoe adventures.

We were absolutely in love with this property!! It was well kept and clean, everything worked and it felt super welcoming. They went above and beyond and had toys for kids and board games for adults. Perfect location and plenty of room. Beautiful view of the lake and lots of open windows to see it. Canā€™t wait to stay here again!!

Our stay at Dancing Bear Den was wonderful. Our family enjoyed our stay in the quaint house that met the needs of the whole family. There was plenty of space inside and out for 6 adults and 2 teens. We particularly enjoyed the fenced yard where we could hang out and enjoy the hot tub. The little peek through the trees at the lake is nice. We would absolutely stay again.

Amazing stay!

This was a wonderful place to stay, the cabin is very cozy, comfortable and has all the amenities we needed. We loved how dog friendly the place was, they had dog bowls to use, a fenced in yard area and didnā€™t ask any annoying follow-up questions about dog breeds. The location is beautiful and itā€™s a short drive to Tahoe City and Carnelian Bay. The next time Iā€™m planning a vacation in Tahoe Iā€™ll definitely be looking to stay here again.

Lovely cabin with great view of the lake!

My friends and I had an amazing time at this cabin! It was so cozy yet spacious and was perfect for our winter weekend trip to Tahoe. The hot tub was such a nice plus on top of it all. Would recommend!

Cozy cabin

Our family of 4 had a great ski week in the cabin. Great location to get to Alpine and Palisades. We enjoyed the fireplace and hot tub. Bunk bed room worked well for our family, but worth noting the room is a loft above living room. Would definitely consider staying here again.

Great place that also allows pets

This was a great house for our family of 4 plus dog. Ted communicated quickly and consistently. He went above and beyond to help make our stay relaxing. The rooms were comfortable and we enjoyed a snowy day playing in the yard and warming up in the family room. We would definitely stay there again.

3 Days of Relaxation

Loved the location (partway between King's Beach and Tahoe City) with a nice view of the lake. Lots of board games and DVDs for entertainment. Kitchen had everything we needed. Such a comfortable home! We really look forward to being able to book your property again and bringing our dogs, who would enjoy the large back yard!

Winter birthday getaway

The cabin is beautiful, such a nice view of the lake across the road! Cabin is stalked up with literally everything you need from kitchen items, to cleaning items, to even toys for the little ones! Visited during the snowy season, but definitely would love to visit again during summer. The host had great communication, thank you Ted!

Dancing Bear Den Getaway

Very rustic place. Very homey. We/extended family weā€™re able to spend some needed quality time together. The fenced in back yard was huge for our dogs. The spa was very inviting. It was right on the main road which made it a little more difficult to come and go. Overall, it was a great vacation place and a great break from the normal routine.

Well Stocked

This home is well stocked with dishes, toys, and games for the whole family. You may not want plan on sleeping on the top bunks as there isn't a railing and it's against a pitched ceiling, making me wary of people rolling off in the night. Check-in and out was quite convenient.

Perfect place to spend a weekend getting 30ā€ of snow!

We had a wonderful experience in this home! We spent lots of quality time by the fireplace watching the snow obstruct the wonderful lake view, and soaking in the hot tub while snowballs fell from the beautiful giant trees in the yard! Our 7 and 5 year old boys spent hours playing checkers with the grandparents and built a giant snowman. The fenced in yard was awesome for the dogs and kids!

Thanksgiving getaway

Home is specious and fits 6 comfortably.Owners need to purchase new cookware and a bbq.Both worn out.Dishwasher needs fixed or replaced.Outside property needs more lighting.Good home for your fur baby.Location is excellent.

Classic Tahoe cabin experience.

Wife, myself, my parents and our toddler stayed here through a nice winter storm. Cabin is in a great location, really well stocked with things youā€™d need and had great communication with hosts. The upstairs is perfect for kids of all ages! Loved being able to see the lake and walk right across the street to a shore. The cabin is a bit creaky but should be expected in a ā€œcabinā€. Only recommendation would be to fix up the blinds which donā€™t work well so that the awesome lake view can be enjoyed. Thanks for the stay.

Amaizing vacations

We stayed in Carnelian Bay from December 30 to January 4, and it was the perfect time for a getaway. First of all, Ted had beautifully decorated the house for Christmas, complete with a Christmas tree and festive decorations throughout, which made the space feel warm and cozy right away.The house was well-equipped with everything listed in the description. However, one suggestion for improvement would be to add a few more kitchen essentials, such as salad bowls, glasses, pots, and paper towels. While it was just the four of us staying as a family, the house is advertised to accommodate eight people, and these items might not be sufficient if you plan to cook at home for a larger group.On January 3, during a blizzard, my boys went outside to shovel the parking area and clean off the cars. To our surprise, a man arrived shortly afterward, told us not to worry about it, and used a snow removal machine to clear everything for us.Overall, we had a wonderful stay, and I would love to come back and stay at this house again.

The family which jointly owns Dancing Bear Den shares a love of Lake Tahoe and frequently visits this special place. Of the three children, the Caninos have lived in Cedar Flat, just a few blocks away, for more than 30 years and help manage the property; the Bransons are in the Reno/Sparks area and the Inman family comes for frequent visits from Denver.

Papa Bear chose to purchase a cabin so he could spend his summers golfing at Old Brockway Golf Course and enjoying his friends along the lake. After he went to heaven, his kids continue the legacy of a love of Tahoe. Now that his grandchildren are adults themselves, the Dancing Bear Den offers more room.
