About this space
Huge deck, fire pit, and breathtaking views of Mt. Rainier at this sweet waterfront home. Located on the beach in a quiet forested area within easy driving distance of downtown Olympia.
The space
Large open-plan living area with a lofted ceiling and original wood floors. Large windows illuminate a full kitchen, dining area, and living space with comfortable furniture and wood-burning fireplace.

1 bedroom with luxurious king bed and views of the water. 1 bathroom with tub/shower. Huge multi-level deck with fire pit. Walk a few steps to access the beach, with stunning mountain views. Washer/dryer in unit. Fast WiFi and cable TV.
Guest access
Access to the full house, deck, garden, and shared beach. Private driveway and outdoor parking.
Other things to note
Kayaks are sometimes available for a nominal fee with advance notice.

Massages are available to book upon request. These need to be booked at least 5 days in advance.

Boat rides on the bay are available to book upon request at $125/hour, weather and schedule dependent. Please message host if you'd like to book a power boat tour.


We love our special retreat and hope you will too! We expect all guests to treat the property, neighbors, and guests at nearby rentals with respect. When we receive your booking request, we'll send out a rental agreement. Here are the basics of what you can expect:
Check in is between 4-11:00pm on arrival day; check out is by 11am on departure day. No late checkouts unless otherwise arranged
Use of wifi, cable tv, utilities, sheets & towels, kitchen equipment, board games is included with your stay

Kayak rentals are subject to a nominal fee for use during the entirety of your stay
No smoking
No pets
No children
No damage to house, furniture, or amenities
No additional guests, unless otherwise arranged

Love this house so much! The sunrise view is amazing and worth being up for! The spacious open floor plan is wonderful, the bed is super comfortable, the water view deck is expansive and inviting, the kitchen has top tier cookware and amble counter space. Being so close to the water is magical, we love it here. Hope to be back again soon!

Wendy and Jim were very gracious offering us a tour on their power boat sharing information about local life. Excellent choice of kayaks. Our stay experience has exceeded our expectations. There is no better place to observe a change between low and high tides. Accomodations were very convenient with thoughtful touches.

This is a lovely property in every respect. We enjoyed the deck overlooking the water, the kitchen is efficient and well equipped, the home is extremely clean, the location is beautiful, and we never wanted to leave. It's perfect for a couple. We appreciated the ease of entry, and the communication with our host was timely and cordial. We highly recommend a stay here and would go back in a heartbeat.

The property is truly amazing. The views from the living room and deck are stunning. The wildlife walking through the yard made it feel like we were in a nature preserve. Mt. Rainer showed itself and it was absolutely incredible. This was a perfect location and set-up. We have family very close so we will definitely be back.

The Perfect Retreat

I was looking for a quiet space near the water to have my anniversary at. Everything about the space was perfect. It's tucked just far enough away to be peaceful while also being close enough to town for convenience. The interior is put together nicely, the bed is comfortable. There are enough pots and pans for cooking. We were able to take advantage of the kayaking. Would highly recommend this space.

This place is amazing! Itā€™s well set up with every detail handled. itā€™s beautiful, inside and out. The view is gorgeous. Seals swam by as we kayaked in the inlet out front. Wendy was so helpful and easy to reach. She even picked up some groceries since we were coming in late. I canā€™t wait to stay here again!

Just Perfect

If you plan to visit the Olympia area, this is where you want to stay. We had a wonderful 4-night stay in Wendy's place. Settled on the shoreline of the Eld Inlet, you can't help but relax on the large deck or indoor window seat, both overlooking the water. Spacious, updated with every convenience, and immaculately clean, the cottage also maintains its classic charm. Check-in and out were easy, thanks to clear communication. We will definitely stay here again.

Outstanding stay in Olympia

This place was well described in the listing, clean, charming and beautiful setting. The attentiveness of the family was outstanding. It is a strong 25 min drive to Olympia so best for those wanting solicitude and can plan ahead for food, etc. We hope to stay here again

Comfort with a view

Gorgeous views from the expansive deck. The kayaks allowed for up close encounters with the seals and sea lions. This small little cottage feels so big with all the windows and open floor plan. And the icing on the cake and critical part of a vacationā€¦a super comfortable bed!

Peaceful and stunning views

The cottage was the perfect getaway for us. The views of the inlet and Mount Rainer were incredible. So quiet and peaceful. We saw a deer, bald eagles and otters. Great communication with the host.

Amazing!

We absolutely loved our stay here. The view is amazing! The house is perfect. Clean. Well stocked. Close enough to town, to go do things. We stayed for about a week to visit with our children. Loved just chilling and enjoying the sights. Canā€™t wait to come.

An incredible house in an incredible place!

The pictures or description do not do this place justice. Here's why my husband and I loved our stay: ā€¢ The view is amazing from everywhere in the house. ā€¢ Kayaking is incredible. ā€¢ It's unbelievably quiet. ā€¢ Seals pop their heads up to say hello. ā€¢ Deer run across the lawn ā€¢ Cooking: The place has everything you need including high quality cookware, a good selection of spices, staples like olive oil, sugar, enough coffee for your first couple mornings, and a collection of other stuff recently renters didnā€™t finish. ā€¢ Staples: We were there for ten days and didnā€™t have to buy anything but paper towels. If you save your shopping bags, you wonā€™t need to buy any extra trash bags. ā€¢ Sleeping: The bed and pillows are wonderful. We donā€™t like duvets, but there are lots of blanket alternatives. ā€¢ Food Shopping: 5 minsā€¦small store with most of what you really need. Ten minutes, more small store stuff. Twenty mins, Trader Joeā€™s or Safeway. ā€¢ Activities: Just being. If you need more, visit the farmers market or hike on a nearby trail. ā€¢ Foodā€¦go to the Olympia fish market and buy fresh fish, or stay in town and spend $60 for dinner before you add adult beverages. ā€¢ Hosts: extremely responsive but in no way visible. Needless to say, we highly recommend this wonderful property!

The place was perfect. We had a wonderful stay over valentines and it was so cozy and relaxing. It has everything you could need and was the perfect size for me and my partner. We would 100% come back and highly recommend. Secluded and quiet. The property is gorgeous. We loved it.
