Heaven's Point | Great views, pet friendly

Heaven's Point offers breathtaking views from inside and out. This lovely cabin is located in the Gateway Mountain Nature Preserve, which includes 3000 acres of woodland, with hiking trails, a small lake, and waterfalls. Enjoy the serenity of the mountains, without the typical light pollution. Nighttime is perfect for star-gazing and spotting a shooting star from the deck or soaking in the newly added hot tub. Large great room with vaulted ceilings has floor-to-ceiling windows to take in the mountain views.

The main floor offers a spacious bedroom with a king bed, twin trundle bed, and full bath. The living room has a beautiful stone, wood-burning fireplace, and TV. The dining table seats 6 and opens to the living room and kitchen. The upper level has a second large master suite with a king bed and private bath with a large soaker tub (no shower). The lower level has a full bath with a walk-in shower and an unfinished basement with a ping pong table, pool table, and living area complete with a sleeper sofa.

Heaven's Point is located approximately 10 minutes from I-40. Black Mountain is only 20-25 minutes away, and Asheville is 35-40 minutes away. Some other local attractions: Catawba Falls trails are within a 15-minute drive. Chimney Rock and Lake Lure are approximately a 30-minute drive. Linville Gorge is within 45 minutes, and the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway is only 30 minutes away.

Please note: This house is dog-friendly, with a $100.00 non-refundable fee per dog (maximum of two). Sorry, this home is not cat-friendly due to common allergies. As of January 2024, central heating and air have been added to the basement area (which includes the game room, living area, and full bathroom) along with a wall-mounted heater. During the colder winter months, icy and/or snowy road conditions and delayed snow plow operations are possible within the development.

From December through March, please come prepared with AWD or 4WD vehicles. We also recommend travel insurance for those staying in the Gateway Mountain development during the winter months. No parking is allowed on roadways or at gate entrances. No RVs, boat trailers, camping trailers, or trailers of any kind are permitted in the Gateway Mountain Community.

Beautiful Cabin

The cabin was beautiful and exactly as described. The drive up was steep, but we expect that so it was not a surprise. We loved being outside of Asheville in the more relaxed vibe of Old Fort. Loved it so much we are looking for a home to move!

Perfect long weekend getaway

What a wonderful stay in a beautiful location near Asheville, Black Mountain, etc. The house was clean, well-equipped, and the communication was top-notch. We especially loved the hot tub and huge wood-burning fireplace. It was just what we needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy some quiet and spectacular mountain views. The sunset from the hot tub is not to be missed.

Amazing view

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The view is the best we’ve seen. Small kitchen if that matters to you. Comfortable beds . Plenty of room. They had Roku TVs so we were able to login to our Netflix accounts, which made the kids happy. The downstairs bath/ shower never got cold so everyone just bathed upstairs. The internet connection is intermittent but all I personally cared about was that fabulous view! Also, ping pong in the basement. It would be nice to have a book with local things to do. We used the website romanticasheville and that was very helpful. Plus I left tons of maps etc The directions were a little off from the company but we figured it out. Oh and the address is wrong but only by one number:)

The view is spectacular, and the cabin is private (at the end of the road on the top of the mountain). There are two bedrooms with king size beds. It was immaculately clean and so homey. We enjoyed the fireplace, and the well-equipped kitchen, and the outdoor table on the deck. It could not have been better except that we would like to have stayed longer! We highly recommend this property and we'll be back!

The only reason we contacted them was a user problem. The house was clean and well appointed. Old Fort and Black Mountain are great little towns with Black Mountain having wonderful restaurants and vibrant historical downtown. The Catawba Falls hike was a wonderful hike (1.2 miles one way) with wide graded path.

The Greybeard staff were very professional and customer service was exceptional. The view was breathtaking. The only thing that was upsetting was the tree close to the deck was full of tree web catapillars which was unpleasant when sitting on the deck. We would rent here again by ourselves but it would be difficult to invite others since there was no shower in the upstairs bathroom. The cabin was beautiful!

The house was immaculate and had everything we needed and more. The beds were comfortable. The setting was very peaceful and secluded. The drive into Black Mountain takes about 30 minutes. I enjoyed talking with the rep from Graybeard; she was gracious and professional. We brought food and drink with us and used the gas grill, but we also ate out in Asheville, Black Mountain, and Marion. Our favorite restaurant was the Sunny Point Café in Asheville. We would definitely recommend Heaven's Point and would love to stay there again.
