Harborfront Villa, Charming Mix of Contemporary and Turn of the Century Elegance

The Villa at Eastie overlooks the harbor and shipping channels, early morning lobstermen can be seen from the sunroom hauling their traps, as well as the ships coming to port. Plane bugs (id book) will love the spectacular view of Logan Int. Airport. At the end of the street is Constitution Beach. There are kayaks for the adventurous or relax in the fountain garden. Smell the sea breeze and reminisce about the politics that must have been discussed in this former Senators home. Entertain in the formal dining room under the crystal chandelier or relax and read a book on one of the balconies overlooking the harbor. The Blue line (T)(public trans) is only two blocks away and offers a ride to the airport station and free shuttle bus to your terminal, a few more stops and you are downtown for world class shopping, restaurants, museums and the Swan boats ride. Ask about antiquing in the area.

Beautiful home with an amazing view! We loved staying in a home with so much history. Only a short walk to the Orient Heights station-took only minutes to get into downtown Boston. Great restaurants within walking distance! Nelson and Madeline were such gracious hosts! We will definitely stay here again when visiting Boston.

We stayed here for the Boston marathon and it was perfect. House is .3 miles from the T, green line, and 2 stops on green line to airport. One change to blue line, a couple stops, and you’re downtown. My son and I made it back from the finish in about 30 minutes, even with Patriot Day congestion. We had no need for a car. Multiple restaurants within .5 miles and we had groceries delivered from Shaws. The house itself is beautiful and very comfortable. We loved the novelty of watching planes take off and land, and would watch for family members’ flights as they came and left. After the usual grey/white generic decor of most VRBO’s, this home was full of color and texture and character. We all loved it.

Beautiful house in a great location. Very close to the T to get into Boston. There are also restaurants around the area. We went to Salem as well and it was an easy trip to and from there. The hosts were very responsive and I would definitely stay again.

Very beautiful large home. Great location and only a 10 minute walk to the T(blue line). We enjoyed the view of the bay and watching the planes arrive and takeoff from airport, unfortunately you can also hear them. I didn't bother us though and we would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful visit

We had a great time here. The house was as described. We had everything we needed and the location was great with a short walk to the T and a view of the water. We loved watching the fog roll in and out with our morning coffees. We would gladly come back for another visit here.

This is a great place to stay. We enjoyed every bit of it. The house is extremely welcoming. The sunroom is just a great place to relax and talk with your family and watch the airplanes leave and land at the airport. The house is so well built that you do not hear the planes at night. The rooms are spacious and there’s plenty of DVDs and games and books

Amazing location & home

Such a unique, thoughtful home. Lots of space and vintage. Very kind, communicative hosts. Home is old, so a little stuffy but open windows fix that. Great location near the Orient Heights T station (metro), & beautiful view on the water of the airport. Overall, perfect place for a friends weekend.

Charming house, good location

As advertised, clean, well stocked and nice historical home. It was convenient to the blue line which made it easy to head downtown for exploring.

Long Weekend in Boston

Our family loved watching planes take off from the airport and the location to the Orient Heights station was great for accessing the city. Nelson and Madeline were great host and very welcoming.

Great stay!

We enjoyed staying at this home for a few days after a family wedding. It was a great location and we walked to restaurants and the beach. We also walked to the train station to go to dinner in Boston. The home was clean and beds were comfortable. Nelson and Madeline were delightful.

Home from home with beautiful views

Our extended family weekend could not have been more enjoyable. The house is lovely and comfortable, and the location is perfect - near the city but quiet and with the beach very close, ideal for all ages (we ranged from 10 to 61). The hosts were very helpful and friendly.

Family stay in East Boston

The young boys absolutely loved the sun room and watching the planes take off and land. They also loved the beach combing. I loved the full access kitchen. And Nelson and Madeline are the dearest hosts.

Very comfortable, conveniently located, and full of history and art.

Boston natives were very hospitable, friendly and fun. We were able to pack a week's worth of activities in the short time we were there. It would have been just as nice to hang out at the house and enjoy the ambiance and views.

Once in awhile there are guests who have had experience in the utmost care of others homes and these guests, young and old where among the rarefied few.

Awesome home for our traveling needs

The house was absolutely beautiful and the rooms fit our needs for 7 people staying there . Location of the home was perfect for access to the "T" so we didn't have to rent a car. Nelson and his wife were very accommodating and could answer any questions we had. I'd highly recommend their home for a stay in Boston.

The sheer size and location on Boston Harbor was one of the most attractive features that lured us to purchase the Villa. It's ease to public transportation connecting all the city has to offer without the need of a car, was a real game changer. The view from the sun porch and in the summer months having a glass of wine on the upper balcony is delightful while watching the planes come and go. It is similar to an orchestrated symphony.
