Stunning Oceanfront Condo - Gorgeous West Maui Oceanfront

It's all about the best location and the classic beauty of an elegant remodel. You can't get any closer to the ocean than Hale Ono Loa. My home offers a million dollar ocean view at an affordable price.

Hale Ono Loa is located in Honokowai (west Maui) just minutes from the Kaanapali resort area and the Kapalua golf courses. We are surrounded by the amazing beaches at Napili Bay, D.T. Fleming, Kapalua Bay and Kaanapali black rock. You can also stroll to the beach next door. Duke’s Last Resort at the new Honua Kai resort, and Honokowai Beach Park for families, are both a short five minute walk. My condo is ten minutes from Lahania and five minutes to the West Maui Airport. Shops, a supermarket, and restaurants are just a few blocks away.

My home was recently remodeled, and is regarded as one of the nicest in the area. An upgraded bathroom and kitchen, along with beautiful bamboo floors, lend my home a feeling of elegance and serenity. There is a ceiling fan in every room that catches the famous Maui trade-winds and keeps you cool year-round. Along with the professionally appointed furnishings and decor, you will find my home fully equipped with all of the amenities for your comfort, including a luxury pillowtop mattress for extra comfort. I took great care in selecting high quality furnishings, with the expectation that my guests and I will be comfortable and happy to spend time in my home.

Our association completed a renovation of the entire complex in 2010, with Hale Ono Loa now described as the crown jewel of the oceanfront properties located along the west Maui beachfront. The most amazing aspect of Hale Ono Loa are the jaw-dropping sundecks, which are practically on top of the ocean. There is a set of stairs to the right of the sundecks, which takes you directly down to the reef for snorkeling. We even have our own turtles 'in residence'! During the whale season (November through April) you can watch whales and spinning dolphins from your lanai, or the sundecks.

The private large pool and sun deck area is surrounded with large coconut palms and numerous tropical plants. These tropical gardens are well maintained, conveying the feeling that you are a part of Old Hawaii. This area is located on the ocean and will provide you with many hours of comfort and relaxation.

Maui is the perfect place for your vacation, wedding celebration or honeymoon in paradise! Hale Ono Loa provides all of the comforts and conveniences you will need during your stay at my home.

Super Quiet & Great Location!

We love staying in the Honukawai area and this was our first time in this particular property. The location is excellent for accessing all the West Maui beaches. We love walking to the local Farmers Market - just a 10 min walk. The property was super quiet the whole time we were here. Kristin, the owner, was very helpful and excellent in the quickness of her responses. The condo is older and small but for the 2 of us it was fine and had everything we needed. The pool area is lovely as are the grounds. There is no sandy beach to access from this property but it does have excellent ocean views and you can hear it from your lanai. The only negative for the condo would be that it could use a good deep cleaning as under the bed by the headboard was quite dirty with a dead beetle (I had to reach under the bed to retrieve the plug-in bar as the outlets on the wall dont work). Other than that we enjoyed our stay and the property! Thank you Kristin!

Lovely property with a beautiful view. Roomie with plenty of space. Pretty pool, although we never used it. Gorgeous ocean view, although, unfortunately, no actual beach access on the property. There are beach chairs and such provided, however, they are probably in need of new beach equipment.

Fantastic Stay

Perfect place to call home for a week. Loved the pool and surrounding area. Coffee and breakfast on the lanai every morning had amazing views. Great communication with Kristin. Highly recommend.

Great condo-roomy and updated

The complex itself was quiet and gorgeous. Grills and a wonderful common area patio with couches and tables. The upgrade was done well. Great ocean views and nice condo. Appreciated it a lot. We stayed in 3 different places this time due to my poor planning and this was the best!

Awesome condo! Awesome location!

Aloha. Awesome condo! Great location! Quiet with a beautiful view! Sunsets are amazing! Complete with their resident conch shell blower. Life doesn’t get any better! Kitchen is well appointed. Lots of dishes and pots/pans to choose from. King bed is very comfortable. Shower is great lots of hot water. Two brand new Weber bbqs that we used every night. Laundry is next door, hardly used, very convenient with lots of good books to borrow. There is no air conditioning but not a problem. Ceiling fans in every room and trade winds keep the condo at a nice temperature. The wrought iron bistro set (lania furniture) could be upgraded to something more comfortable and sturdier. Saw lots of whales from the lania. Bring your binoculars. And tons of turtles on the shore line looking off the deck. We stayed for 5 weeks. When I asked about cleaning supplies Kristin purchased a stick vacuum and a mop and pail to help me keep place clean from the red dust. So appreciated that. I like to keep a clean house even on holidays lol. Kristin was awesome to deal with. Very attentive to our needs. Mahalo. Would definitely stay here again!

Needs TLC

We have stayed on this property the past 4 years and decided to rent from a different owner due to the unit we were in is in need of a new mattress. This unit has a new mattress - very comfortable. The unit itself needs some "tender loving care". When talking with the owner, she was aware of some of the problems when she visited in November but chose not to make the necessary repairs. The unit is in need of a very through cleaning - screens and drapery are unbelievable dirty, ceiling fans also.

Beautiful safe property

We stayed a week at this condo and we had a great time. We were a little worried when we first arrived that there was no air conditioning (unusually warm for October) but once we opened up ALL the windows we were able to relax and sleep comfortably. The cross breeze we got from the windows was delicious. We did see some MINOR fix issues that we wanted to make sure that we would not be responsible for and emailed the owner with pictures. She responded right away and even though it was not necessary, she got the issues fixed right away. If we have to complain about something, I would say that the bathroom could use a little more ventilation. It has a fan but after a shower, we had to make sure to leave the door open to try and cool the bathroom. Also, we thought that there was a beach (with sand). The beach steps drop down into a rocky area where you can get into the water. Although we did see the turtle swimming. If you are visiting, you HAVE to be in the room at sunset. There is a gentleman who blows a conch shell in the condo complex, speaks Hawaiian and gives a positive message. In no way is this loud or annoying. This really added to our experience of Hawaii. After a couple of days in the condo complex we felt safe enough to leave the door open (when we were in the condo). I know that this is probably not suggested by the condo owner, but the complex just felt safe and the area felt safe. We will DEFINITELY be requesting to stay at this condo again.

Older but well maitained property with amazing views of The Ocean and Lanai. The pool is quiet and inviting but the pool furniture badly needs replacing and upgrading.

First visit to northwest Maui

Good to Great - not Terrific!

A great place to stay for most people. Kristin’s communication was prompt, her unit clean, comfy, and well-equipped! We would likely not stay again for 3 reasons: the building next door seems to have established a smoke pit directly downwind from the unit (smoke and loud voices at all hours) AND the property itself was quite loud with many groups of visitors bending rules AND pool hours are from 9am-10pm (we often wanted to swim before 9am). Overall, place was good and we snorkelled right off the front wall.

Wonderful, quick trip!

We wish we could have stayed longer in this VRBO. We were concerned about not having air conditioning, but there were so many fans that we never worried about it! The views are amazing, and Kristin was amazingly helpful and easy to work with. When we went, there wasn't a beach available in front of the condo, but the pool was a wonderful place to cool off, and we were able to walk to a nearby beach park that Kristin recommended. This place is about a 10-15 minute drive to the heart of Lahaina, and we loved the close proximity. We would absolutely stay at Kristin's place again if we find ourselves back in Hawaii!

Amazing views!

This place was amazing, my only regret is that we didn't have time to use the beautiful pool! It was helpful that the place had some beach chairs and an umbrella for us to use. It was easy to get to and close to most of the things we wanted to do. Her guide that she wrote up was detailed and useful and much appreciated! I would absolutely stay here again when I come to back to Maui!!

Nice place, great location

Perfect little place for our first trip to Maui. The location was very walkable to food and snorkel rentals, and the parking lot had plenty of available parking. The unit was clean and the kitchen had most of the basics we needed to make a few meals ourselves. The patio overlooking the pool was lovely, and the ability to walk down to the water and see the turtles was daily fun. Also enjoyed being able to snorkel around the reef right there at the property. The "welcome" documents the owner provided were also very helpful in finding some touristy ideas for our first visit to the island. The lack of A/C wasn't a big issue for a June visit (though I'd personally struggle a bit in July/August, I think). Highly enjoyed this unit, and would gladly return.

I'm Kristin, and I first visited Hale Ono Loa in 2009. I've traveled all over, but it's true what they say, that once you've been to Maui you never want to go anywhere else. Maui is blessed with stunning diversity, and West Maui is distinct with its tropical foliage and world famous beaches. When you're here, it's really about a state of mind and serenity that few vacation destinations can offer. You can be as active as you like, or do nothing at all, either way it will be the time of your life.

I wanted to be away from the crowds of the larger resort communities. Staying at Hale Ono Loa, I often have the beach just to myself. At the same time, I am just minutes away from great restaurants and nightlife.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

My favorite aspect is the snorkeling on our reef just yards away. We have two gorgeous sundecks and seawall that are pretty much in the middle of the ocean. There's a set of stairs that takes you right down to the reef for snorkeling and swimming with the turtles. Also, my lanai is beautiful, especially during whale season. From my lanai, you can see whales breeching during the season.
