Spacious family compound know as 'The Moorings' located in the heart of Wellfleet. Tons of indoor & outdoor space to spread out!! This property consists of a large Victorian main house with classic wrap-around front porch, a 3-bedroom cottage, a 2-bedroom cottage and two studio 'housekeeping' cottages. It is a short walk to Mayo Beach, the Harbor/Pier and downtown's Main Street in Wellfleet Center. Walk to Mac's Shack, The Juice, The Pearl, Wicked Oyster, Mac's Seafood, The Bookstore Restaurant, Winslow's Tavern, and other great restaurants! The property, set on a very large parcel, fronts on a saltwater harbor inlet (perfect for kayaking) and is ideally suited for family reunions, weddings, extended family gatherings, and/or cozy private vacations. The main house, the 2-bedroom cottage, and the 3-bedroom cottage boast a total of nine bedrooms and four baths, comfortably accommodating a large party in space in amenities. The two 'housekeeping' studio cottages have double beds and share a full bath. Please contact us for specific details. We had a wonderful week at the Moorings with our whole family (18 of us ages 12 to 87)!! Perfect spot for intergenerational bonding. Beautiful spot to just sit and watch the tides. Also walkable to beach, skatepark, tennis courts, and restaurants (and easily driveable too). Lots of great spaces to spread out and also to be together.

The Moorings is fabulous!! We had a large group coming from all over and the smaller cottages made it so accommodating for all of our guests! April, our host, is very communicative making all aspects of the process very manageable. The location and the views are fabulous. We loved being able to walk everywhere in Wellfleet from the house. We were celebrating a birthday and they even decorated for that making it so special. Lots of personal touches. We easily accommodated 18 adult guests. I highly recommend this property!!

We absolutely loved our time at The Moorings. We loved the location, the view was beautiful and it had everything we needed for our stay. It would be nice to have the beds made and fresh towels available but I feel like it’s such a Cape thing to do your own. April recommended a place to rent them, and that worked for our group perfectly, and she was super responsive about everything! We celebrated birthdays and even had a surprise engagement while we were there!!! It was the perfect setting for our 2 families with adult children and significant others and you can’t beat being able to walk to the harbor and into the center of town too! We love Wellfleet and The Moorings!

This property is amazing!! It is close to the center of town but also very quiet. We had 20 people stay for a birthday party and there was plenty of room for everyone.

great place for large group

Great location for bars, shops and restaurants. Property was perfect for large group. Main home is 150 years old, which gives it character, but also means updates are needed.

The Moorings is FANTASTIC

It is wonderful every time we go! Kayaking from the backyard, walking to town and the pier, swimming in the pond and at the bay. A perfect location and all was lovely.

Fantastic location and setup for a gathering of friends!

We stayed here for a gathering of friends from around the world. It was perfect -- plenty of space, an outstanding location (easy walk to many restaurants as well as the harbor), and all the facilities we needed. We had a great time and would highly recommend it to others wanting to get a large group together.

Great location

We really enjoyed our stay, it was our second time renting the house. We loved the beautiful backyard, the fire pit, the spacious wrap-around porch, and the view of the water. The location is amazing, with great restaurants in walking distance. The host was responsive and very helpful. Thank you!

Wellfleet Summer Fun

This is our second year staying here -- we had such a great time last year we all decided to come back! The main house, cottages, and large yard (with beautiful water view) make this the perfect place for a multigenerational vacation. The proximity to beach, shopping, restaurants, and sporting activities cannot be beat. We are already talking about staying again next summer!

Beautiful Wellfleet

Awesome location for multigenerational vacation! Quiet backyard with beautiful views and room for lawn games. Cottages are adorable and big house has room for large family dinners. Walkable to shops, food, and boating. How could you not have fun and love this spot!

Magical Week By The Sea

Beautiful seaside victorian home provided the perfect location for friends to gather, reconnect, and enjoy everything that Wellfleet has to offer. The Moorings is large, comfortable, well stocked, and in the heart of the village for dinning, music, shopping, kayaking and just relaxing by the water. Can’t wait to return next year!

Wonderful property!

Ideal location, lots of space for sleeping, swimming, paddle boarding, campfires, and just rocking on the front porch. Owner was very accessible and made sure, in advance. we knew what we needed to bring. You won’t be disappointed, it was great!

Beautiful Wellfleet Waterfront Compound

Our second stay at this beautiful property did not disappoint. Our large group enjoyed dinners and social time around the fire, on the porches, and picnic tables. Location provides a perfect hub for beach, boating and golf outings, paddling from the property, and short walks to galleries, restaurants, and hikes. We’ll be back!

We enjoyed our stay at The Moorings and visit every couple of years. I can’t say enough about the house, cabins and the location of the property. It fits our needs perfectly. April is a great host and very responsive to any needs requested. Our entire family look forward to staying there and enjoying the Outer Cape. The location is in an area that has fantastic restaurants: The Bookstore and the Pearl, The Wicked Oyster, Winslows Tavern. There is a great playground down by the wharf, tennis courts and basketball too. All enjoyed by myself and family and all within walking distance. Wellfleet and the Moorings are the real Cape.

Wonderful stay!

Gorgeous views of the tidal river! Kids enjoyed looking for crabs when the tide was out. We had multiple families and the "compound" worked very well giving each family space. April was great! She immediately answered our questions and if an issue came up she had it addressed shortly after. Would highly recommend this property!

Beautiful Wellfleet Compound

Perfect location for a multigenerational group looking to stay on the Cape. The main house and cottages are so charming. The views of the water from the small cottages cannot be beat, very peaceful! The big yard and cozy porch offer places for game playing, quiet conversations, and relaxing with nature. The ability to walk to restaurants, shops, and harbor beach was fantastic. Who says you can't please everyone!

Perfect wedding venue

We had the loveliest wedding at The Moorings! The historical house and little cottages accommodated a large family and allowed cousins and extended family to reconnect in a beautiful setting. The view is stunning. Mayo Beach, art galleries, Wellfleet Center and a number of excellent restaurants are all within easy walking distance. It was a special experience and there is no more magical spot in Wellfleet than The Moorings!

Family Reunion

Super convenient downtown location. Great for multiple families to spread out and have their own space. The yard is perfect for outdoor activities and accessible to the water (tidal). The main house is a step back in time and the cottages are updated and comfortable. Property owner/manager was very responsive and helpful.

I have spent summers in Wellfleet since I was a young child. I always admired The Moorings and when I had the chance to purchase it as an adult, I jumped on the opportunity! Main house and cottages set up allows multiple families and friends to share a vacation property but have their own space at the same time.
