This house was great & had everything we needed for a vacation! We loved the hot tub & the covered front porch. The chairs on the back deck were really nice too. The weather was cool so we didn’t use the pool but we looked at it & it was good. There are beach chairs under the house which was perfect for us since we didn’t have extra room to pack ours. There’s a water hose on each end of the house as well to was your feet & in our case spray off the windows of our vehicles bc they got terribly dirty from all the sand blowing. It’s a straight shot to the beach & I loved the view of it from the back deck. The owner was responsive anytime I messaged which I appreciated. I’m sure anyone who stays here will be well satisfied! Thank you for allowing us to use your home!

Loved this classic OBX house. Plenty of room for everyone. Kitchen well stocked. Location was awesome right on the beach and next to the pier. Owner was very responsive and honest. We left some items in the home at checkout and he notified us right away and agreed to mail them to us! Would stay here again!

There was not one thing that I could say that is negative about our stay. Everything was so so great. Our host was incredible. The house was perfect. We will book this place again. We had the best vavation ever !!! Thank you so much.

Absolutely relaxing

The location and comfort of this home is everything OBX. The spaces are comfortable, the amentities sufficient, the response form the owner was quick. The pool is in a great location for keeping sand out of it! The hot tub overlooks the dune for early morning sun rise soaks. We had a wonderful time and experience in this property.

Awesome beach location

Our family loved the house- the location on the beach was perfect for the kids, and the adults spend hours on the porch watching the sunrise, dolphins and waves.

Nags Head Getaway

Spring break with my wife and daughter and our grandson. Great quiet location on the beach. All shopping and restaurants within a 5 - 10 minute drive. Early morning sunrise with coffee was amazing.

Beautiful home and location

The house was beautiful and spacious with plenty of room for 9 adults. The location was perfect with the view of the ocean from the house and the bar and grill just down the beach. The hot tub was simple to operate and worked well. It was perfect for an early season stay. We spotted dolphins swimming in the ocean from the porch. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils. Convenient location with short drive to plenty of restaurants and shops.

We had a great time. The rental is in a great location and has lots of room. It wasn't as clean as we thought it should be, but we had our own cleaning stuff with, so we cleaned the dirty areas up ourselves.

Great Location!

The location of the property is perfect for a family vacation. Beautiful view and close to restaurants and other attractions. Communication with the host was great! We had an issue getting into the house when we first arrived. I messaged Mike and he got back to me right away! We enjoyed our stay and have been talking about a trip back!

Quiet and close to beach and pier

this was a nice house. we enjoyed the beach views from the porch and hot tub. walking distance to pier and pier restaurant. beds are really showing their age but we were not picky sleepers. Had to make our own beds but I think we read this in the listing. I would stay here again but would hope the beds are refreshed by then.

Disappointed in the condition of the house and lack of amenities

The location of the property is 5 star. The house was worn and needs to be updated. All beds are extremely uncomfortable and had a piece of foam between the mattress and mattress cover. One piece of foam was torn into two pieces. Most of the furniture was a hodge pod; some looking like it was purchased from a used furniture store. The family room furniture was new and comfortable. We picked up bedding from a container outside the house and had to make the beds. We were surprised by a last minute email from the owner that we had to buy all supplies, trash bags, soap, dishwasher pods, etc. Total nightly cost of the stay was about the same I pay for a 5 star condo in Maui but it felt more like a Days Inn level property. When we contacted the owner about need for more towels, he responded quickly and accommodated the request. While we had a good time in the Outer Banks, the accommodations were disappointing.

An Amazing Time on the OBX

Our family of eleven -- with five grandchildren (ages 8-12) -- stayed at the OBX Classic Oceanfront from Monday afternoon through Saturday morning, September 23-28, and were well accommodated by this lovely Vrbo with its private access to the beach. We enjoyed this homebase immensely as our primary vacation experience with the sand, the waves, and the rising of the sun always available -- and with the hot tub and outdoor pool as pluses. Then we took our trips out to lovely experiences -- two lighthouses, The Wright Brothers National Monument, NC Aquarium, the sand dunes, laser tag, and of course wonderful restaurants. We enjoyed making meals together, morning coffees on the deck, and family movies in the evenings. As noted above, everything about our stay was exceptional!

lousy weather

We were bummed with the weather. We also thought it was weird you didn't supply just a few basics so when you get in late at night you don't have to find a store and buy toliet paper and hand soap. We left some for the next guests. PS We forgot to start the dishwasher. Sorry!

OBX 2024 Family Vacation

We all had the best family vacation ever. Location was perfect and the house was amazing. We were missing a tv remote in the master bedroom and our host had a new one delivered within a few hours. The ice maker was a game changer! If we don't have any additional people next year, we will be back for sure! The only reason that I gave it four stars for cleanliness was because my son in law, who is an HVAC technician noticed some mold on some of the AC registers. I would have never noticed!

Incredible beach house with a wonderful host!

We had a family reunion at the Outer Banks and Mike’s house was perfect to accommodate multiple family with the ages ranging from 1 to 68. We were traveling from California and Mike was always very quick to respond to all the questions we had leading up to the incredible trip. The house was beautiful and the location was amazing. We will be back for sure!

Nice place close to beach

Dryer damaged some clothes. Lint trap pocket in dryer needs to be removed and cleaned up so that trap can be placed all the way in.

Family vacay

Wonderful location and having the private pool was amazing. I called the owner about the BBQ grill not being very good and a new one with accessories was delivered within 2 hours. We were very appreciative because we cooked in every meal. Fabulous time with family!

Burial at Sea

Our entire family was at Nags Head for the Burial at Sea of our brother's cremation remains. This house was the perfect fit for us. The layout of the house is perfect and so comfortable and well-appointed with everything we needed to take care of meals. The ice maker was a big hit!! We so enjoyed the hot tub after a hectic few days before we arrived at Nags Head. I have used VRBO several times at different locations and always take along my cleaning supplies, mop and bucket, but this time the house was in perfect condition we did not have to lift a finger to clean anything, first time ever! A huge Thank You to Mike and his crew for making our stay so enjoyable and also arranging an early check in time. Next time in Nags Head we hope this house will be available to rent as it was not only perfect for our family but now such fond memories and the connection to our brother.

Great get away

Had a great time house has a awesome veiw seen plenty of dolphins from the back deck of house and the hot tub was a nice bonus.My only regret was not booking a longer trip.

Mike and Renee fell in love — both with each other and with the Outer Banks — during their college summers here. Renee worked in local shops and the iconic Captain Frank’s, while Mike was a lifeguard with the Kill Devil Hills and Nags Head beach teams.

Now living in Chesterfield, VA with their kids, Meganne and Max, and dogs Bo and Boomer, they still spend as much time as possible at the beach they love.

Their vacation homes, OBX Life I, OBX Life II, and OBX Life IV all reflect that same passion for the coast.

Our guest are in love with the house because we try and keep the house a traditional beach cottage feel. Sitting on the back porch watching the sunrise or the porpoises play in the surf. Oceanfront offers it all. South Nags Head is away from all the heavy traffic and the beach is less crowded.

SO MUCH TO DO! Sitting in the hot tub overlooking the ocean is incredible. Or grabbing your fish rod and walking down the beach to the pier. Or taking a break from the beach and relaxing in the hammock at the pool. This house has it all.
