Ye Scurvy Sea Dog is located in a quiet area of the Outer Banks, yet is still close to great local restaurants, shopping, and family attractions.

This comfy beachy cottage is the perfect beach getaway and has everything you need for a great family vacation. You and your family will enjoy the large, uncrowded, and family oriented beach.

Our spacious floor plan includes a living room, a bright and sunny kitchen and dining area with plenty of seating for the entire family.

Relax with your morning cup of coffee on the sun deck with your ocean view - enjoying the cool breeze and relaxing ocean sounds. Spend your days sunbathing or splashing around with the kids at the beach. Come back and let your stress drift away under the stars while listening to the ocean sounds. Enjoy cooking your meals out on our charcoal grill or preparing them in the well stocked kitchen...and if you don't feel like cooking you're just a few minutes away from the best restaurants the OBX has to offer!

Ground Level: Enclosed outside shower and gas grill

Bottom Level of Cottage: Second master bedroom with King bed, flat screen TV/Cable, sliding glass door opens to deck and ocean. Third master bedroom with King bed, flat screen TV/Cable, sliding glass door opens to deck and ocean. Bedroom four with two Pyramid bunks. Bedroom five with two Pyramid bunks. Laundry room with washer and dryer.

Top Level: Main King master bedroom with flat screen TV/Cable, in suite bathroom. Living room with flat screen TV/Cable and DVD player. Fully stocked large kitchen and dining area. Sliding glass doors open to top deck to ocean and beach.

Linens: Comforters, pillows, bath mats, and kitchen towels are provided. You provide your own linens (sheets, pillowcases, shower and beach towels) or they can be rented through a local company. Recommendations can be provided.

Turnover day: Saturday

During Summer Season Turnover Day: Saturday (mid May to end of September). Off season turnover can be arranged for any day. 3 Night minimum stay during non peak summer season.

Amazing Ocean Front

Our family enjoyed a beautiful sunny week at Ye Scurvy Dog!! The simplicity of walking right out on the beach was heavenly. We saw dolphins, rainbows, and a spectacular fireworks display right from the deck. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and plan on a return.

This was the perfect house for our family and friends getaway! We spent all our time enjoying meals and fellowship looking out of the big beautiful windows! Perfect setup with 3 master bedrooms! Did not want to leave!!!

We rented Ye Scurvy Dog for an off season weekend. House was nice. Exactly as described. Great views from the wrap around deck and good access to the beach. Would stay here again.

Wonderful house and location

Our family stayed April 10-14 and everything was so wonderful. We had a wonderful time our oldest said it was the best vacation we had been on. I highly recommend renting this house Elizabeth is a wonderful host. We hope to rent again in the future.

Beautiful Beach House, Beautiful Location, Excellent Hosts

We enjoyed our stay immensely. The house is perfectly situated on a gorgeous stretch of beach, and the three large sliding doors make it easy to enjoy the ocean, even when indoors. The hosts were gracious and responsive, and the check-in/check-out details were simple and clear. I highly recommend this property.

Amazing views!

The location is great! The view is absolutely amazing! My husband and I enjoyed the sunrise from the deck every morning. The only thing I would recommend is an outside table to accommodate more people.

Great Vacation

My family needed a well-deserved spring break mini vacation. And we found it at this beachfront home. My daughter told me that even though it was too cold to swim in the ocean, this was the greatest vacation that she has ever had, thanking me. To me, that's all that needs to be said.

This place is magic!

The property is amazing, the owner made the process and experience flawless. The panorama view from the living room is priceless. We spent mother's day weekend with our whole family and plan to return asap. We had everything we needed in the house and the neighbors were friendly. Would recommend to anyone looking for peace and quiet!

The house was located right on the beach. It was very convenient for our family of 8 2 infants for beach access. For our short stay we were satisfied to staying house bound, cooking our meals there and enjoying the ocean views. We were in communication with the host after an accidental break of tempered glass on the dining room table, but she was very understanding and told me not to "worry about it". I would recommend future renters to pay attention to amenities offered but if you forget to bring something there's plenty of stores nearby. I would recommend the host to replace the 2 broken grills with a new one.

Ye Scurvy Dog was a great place for our two families to celebrate New Years. House was as pictured & described. Spacious and wifi was good. Mattress was a little tired and dryer only got luke warm (maybe time to replace), but everything worked. Ocean front decks and bedrooms were wonderful.

Comfortable, light filled, and right on the ocean!

This house is right on the ocean, and the views are spectacular. This is not a crowded stretch of beach, which suited us perfectly. House is well furnished and the kitchen was especially well stocked. Our family of five, including a six month old, had plenty of space. Beds were great, the family room had plenty of comfortable seating and the huge windows gave a panaramic view even from inside. Owners were very responsive both before and after we got there. Loved it!

Almost a 5 star.

The location and views were amazing!! The only way the view could have been improved would be functional seating on the deck. Many of the deck chairs were broken. The house was basic but comfortable for our large family. We would highly suggest better, sand-free transition from the sandy areas into the house to cut down on so much sand being tracked in. Our family of 12 had a fabulous time and would stay again in the future.

Beautiful home on the water, plenty of room and comfortable.

With the house being on the water and all the beautiful views of the water from the house...we loved it. Watched dolphins a few mornings too! House has so much room and the location was perfect if you like to run in to town, but enjoy the less populated, more private beach access. Ideal location. Only concern was the accessibilty to house and that my front wheel suv would get across sand -- little trouble, but we did not get stuck. Elizabeth was upfront about this, so we knew to expect it. Thanks!

The views are amazing..

The views of the ocean are amazing .The house was not covid cleaned .There was clothing in the dressers and closets of the master. The bathroom was not cleaned properly as well being as bad as covid is I expected more .Price was alittle high for the inside being very dated .If you have a large truck or dually good luck parking is extremely tight..

Beautiful property with awesome views!

We had our annual girls weekend here and the property was beautiful! Pros: location, size, ocean front and easy rental. Cons: Driveway was grown up and needs some attention because you can hear it running down the side of your vehicle which I wasn't thrilled about since I have a new SUV. The property is older and pretty well maintained however there was dog hair all stuck to the couch and there were some ants in the kitchen. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed our stay but there is room for improvement.

Family beach week

This home is in the perfect location, had gorgeous windows that provided dolphin views all week long! This was the only home we've rented that fit our family at the SAME dinging room table!! The drive to food shopping, restaurants, and other shops was far enough to keep the location private yet close enough to be there and back with a full load of groceries in less than an hour. We would definitely rent this home again, the owners were very quick to answer any questions we had and to provide suggestions for great local seafood. We're ready for our next week at the beach, the only disappointment is waiting 51 weeks to return! Thank you for a fantastic vacation! Kristen

My husband and I both grew up vacationing every year in the Outer Banks.

My family was the beach bum type. My mom has always been a lover of the beach so we spent every vacation on the beach as much as possible. From building sand castles, swimming, floating, boogie boarding, and having a nap on the beach...we knew how to relax! To this day my favorite thing to do is pack a picnic and eat lunch by the ocean. Seafood was always on the menu while at the beach so my dad would catch fish for us or go get us steamed crabs and shrimp!

My husbands family was more about the experience. They enjoyed visiting the aquarium, finding the best local restaurants, and playing putt putt. They knew how to find an adventure!

The two of us together are a pretty good mix of the two. We enjoy going and finding adventures but also love a good nap by the ocean.
