You will love this beautifully decorated studio near downtown Austin. Whether you're a working professional, a student or a vacationer, this place is perfect for you. It is centrally located to all the best that Austin has to offer. You're minutes from UT, Downtown Austin, Austin Bergstrom Airport, and the world-famous Zilker Park.
The space
The Joplin House is an incredibly spacious studio apartment located on the second floor. Meant to stir those feelings of genuine old school rock and roll, our unit has everything you need to have an enjoyable stay in Austin whether you are just sleeping there or staying in on a rainy day.

Our unit has a unique vintage metal framed queen size bed covered in a sexy crushed velvet comforter and pillows. Or you can use the queen size futon that doubles as a comfy bright red leather couch. Decor is focused on 1970's rock'n roll. Wake up in the morning and enjoy a cup of joe in our Bonnie and Clyde brass knuckle coffee mugs and don't forget to enjoy a mini waffle with our mini maker. Spend the first part of your day working on your "work" on our work desk with hutch adorned with all of our neat pieces of music history.

Rainy day outside? No worries - we have some unique vintage records and player available to enjoy the afternoon while reading one of our many unique musical literary pieces. We have worked hard to recreate a space that Janis Joplin herself would have left her guitar and immersed herself in.

Needing internet? NO worries - we have the fastest fiber internet in the south and you can stream, download the encyclopedia, and play 12 video games at once. Just please remember that while you are enjoying the Joplin house, we are located in a very residential area of South Lamar and our neighbors do indeed appreciate quiet hours on weekdays.

Unit is stocked with body wash, extra sheets, towels, pillows and comforter. If you find you are running low on something or have a question - please reach out to our local Joplin specialist - Cheyne.

Guest access
Joplin house is located on the second floor of the complex. You will have access to this unit via a lock box with a key inside. Please be advised that you are responsible for keeping up with the key as well as the community parking pass. Loss of key/pass may result in fees to replace.

While staying with us, you will have access to our small summer pool located in the center of the complex as well as the laundry facilities in building two.

Located at the front of the complex you will find rentable bikes and scooters. They can get you around town super quick but please be aware of driving laws as you can get a ticket while scootering (and in Texas you can also get arrested for driving your horse intoxicated).
You are within walking distance of Zilker Park, South Lamar, and a skip to downtown.
Other things to note
Guest check out is 11AM and check in is at 4pm.

If you need to store your luggage as your flight arrived super early or super late - please contact Bounce Storage as they will store your heavy stuff for $5/day.
