About this space
Sunset views & lake access a rare find. This is the perfect place to escape & enjoy the natural beauty of lake Whitney. Spacious deck overlooking the lake, fire pit, grill & lots of outdoor seating for all 10 guest. Relax after a day on the lake in the open-concept living room w/huge windows & comfortable seating. Fully equipped kitchen features large island perfect for preparing meals while enjoying the views. Five bedrooms w/comfortable furnishings & linens. Master bedroom w/king bed & large picture window overlooking the lake. Bring your boat, canoe, water toys and sunscreen. You'll feel like you have the lake to yourself in our Semiprivate cove. Enjoy water, hiking, cliff diving or take a trip down the Brazos river.
The space
Please note the house is actually two in one. Meaning main house is a 3bed/2bath with kitchen, dinning and living space. Then we have the guest space connected by the breezeway. It is 2bed/1 bath with garage that we have converted to a recreational room. The bedrooms are climate controlled but recreational space isn’t (yet).
Guest access
We allow guests full access to our house. However there are locked spaces with owner’s personal belongings as we do spend some time in the house ourselves. Please respect our privacy and don’t attempt to unlock anything that is off limits.
Other things to note
Lake front with lake access. However you’ll want to be careful heading to the shore. It’s steep and the grass is sometimes tall. We have a permit to cut a path and do our best to keep it cleared. Go down the stairs and then go left and around.

Loved the house, its fabulous lake view ( from inside and outside of the house), and its open floor plan. I will return to the house in the near future to rent it again! The back deck was so relaxing that my friends and I just sat outside enjoying the lake and listening to the water for hours. Host was nice and welcoming. House had a full set of kitchenware and multiple coffee options ( K-cup and drip). A Brookshires grocery store was down the highway. The beds were comfortable. Loved the covered parking. Thank you Farlene!

When we booked we were not aware there was separate living quarters. View is lovely. Tv in bunkhouse can’t be watched because screen is too dark. With that exception, would stay again.

The view and deck is just as described, beautiful. There was plenty of room for 7 adults and 1 toddler. The house was nicely decorated and the kitchen great for cooking our meals.

Great quick stay over the weekend with family friends. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed. The game room was great for the kids (not air conditioned so the adults stayed in the main house). The views are awesome and tons of outdoor seating/communal area. Access to the lake is tough but that’s common for lake Whitney’s steep rocky coast. We had a great time!

we love this house! We had an amazing time. The only thing disappointing was the overgrown grass that led down to the water. We were unable to access the water because the grass beyond the steps was too high. We had our boat pull up to the cove to pick up the family but was unable to retrieve them as it was too high and thick.

Beautiful home

Property is wonderful. Plenty of sleeping quarters and bathrooms. The kitchen is stocked with all the essentials. The neighborhood is nice and quite. Plenty of parking. A from us.

Beautiful place

This was our second time to stay at Reel ‘Em In. We have a large family reunion at a nearby venue and mostly just need extra bedrooms. But this home is beautiful and the deck out back is so peaceful for morning coffee. Check in is easy and Farlene and Andy are easy to contact. We are already planning for next year!

Golfing tournament

The general area in the house was great for 6 ladies. The bbq grill needs a good cleaning underneath as there is leftover grease and it was hard to keep the flames under control. Had a slight communication misunderstanding, but was resolved quickly with a phone call.

Great Get-Away and Fabulous View

Great lake get-away for my wife and my parents and specifically for my mom's birthday. House is as advertised and was decorated like you think a lake property should be. Bedrooms were comfortable and the bathrooms were updated and nice and clean. Plenty of towels, linens, pillows, blankets, etc. Great space connecting the kitchen and living room. Kitchen was well stocked with cookware and utensils...everything we needed. Spacious deck with plenty of seating for everyone, a nice grill and a tabletop fire pit as well as additional fire pit with seating next to the deck. Great sunsets every night from the deck as it faces west. Although we didn't make use of it, it has an additional and separate guest quarters with a game room, bar and two smaller bedrooms-one with a full bathroom. plenty of space for larger families. We loved this place and will go back again. Farlene and Andy were quick to respond and attentive. You should feel good and confident about renting this property.

Amazing house with great views!

We had an amazing stay. There was plenty of space to spread out and it was nice having two separate areas so we could have an area to be loud after young kids went to sleep. Communication with the property owner couldn’t have been easier, check in/was a breeze. And you couldn’t beat the lake views!

Great Lakehouse

We had a wonderful time. The house was spacious, clean, and the location couldn’t have been better—close to everything I wanted to explore. The kitchen had everything I needed to cook meals, which was such a huge plus. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out and feel comfortable, and the outdoor space was a great bonus.However, I did want to mention that the owner seems to check the outdoor cameras frequently, and we were unaware that she had called the cops on the neighbor’s dogs until we walked outside one morning to find a sheriff in the driveway. While the dogs were not a problem at all, it was a bit surprising to find out this had happened without any prior heads-up from the owner. I just wanted to be transparent about it in case others value knowing this kind of information in advance.We also had a couple of issues with the heating and cooling. The heater in the bunkhouse wasn’t working the first night, so we couldn’t sleep out there. The owner was very responsive and sent someone out to fix it the next day. However, on the third night, it became quite hot in the bunkhouse, and while we were able to sleep there, it wasn’t as comfortable as it could have been. It seems like the A/C wasn’t working properly, and despite the owner’s efforts to address the issue, it wasn’t fully resolved.Overall, despite a few minor issues, I had a great experience and would recommend this place to others looking for a relaxing convenient spot!

Clean but had some minor issues.

Smoke alarm Kept going off in the game Room. No battery for the igniter on the grill. Besides that everything else was amazing. The lake was 5 ft over its banks so it made it almost impossible to get into the water. ac in the bunk beds room isn’t Sufficient. Loved the house though.

Great Lake Property

House had everything we needed for our stay. Bunk house with Gameroom was an awesome place for a group of friends to hang out and catch up, which is exactly what we were looking for. Highly recommend!

Born and raised in Texas I have spent most of my life right here in my home state. I spend a lot of time enjoying the great outdoors. My favorite days are spent on the beach or lake and I find life is just better by the water. My husband loves to fish and hunt. However, I am happy hiking or just sitting by the water. We really enjoy being host and started out converting our long term rental into a STR. It went well but we really wanted something that was more of a vacation spot we could enjoy ourselves when not in use. So we sold that home (our first home) and bought this place.

Por que o anfitrião escolheu essa propriedade

I grew up spending time with my family on lake Whitney. I really love the clean water and stunning views of the cliffs. It is more of a fishing and cliff diving lake and not a party lake which we like a lot. It never seems to be over crowded and hunting for fossils is a lot of fun. We see a lot of wild life around the area as well. Some of our favorites are eagles, deer and gray wolfs. If you enjoy bird watching we have a lot of opportunity and in the spring the butterfly watching is pretty awesome as well.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

Our house is carefully decorated with lots of fishing and nature. I think you'll find a few unique touches that you just won't find anywhere else. Like the half boat in living room and the fishing lure mirror in the hall. I like to say we are bougie rustic and that is because we like to comfort and class with our rugged fishing touches.
