Hummingbird Cottage-MCA #50070 -This recently remodeled classic beach cottage is full of natural light. Park your car for your entire stay. Everything is within walking distance of the house. The beach is a short 2-block walk, the town is 1/2 block, Manzanita City Park with tennis court, volleyball court, basketball court, kids play structure is only 6 blocks. From the house, you can follow the bike trail all the way down to the State Park.

Things to love about this home:

*1/2 block into town to restaurants/bars, shopping, grocery stores, and coffee shops
*2 dogs allowed so you can bring your 4 legged family- additional fees apply
*All new stainless steel appliances

*Newly remodeled

This bright and beautiful little gem has a Queen bedroom with full bath attached on the main level where you will also find the kitchen with all new stainless steel appliances. The living area has a new insert installed in the river rock fireplace to enjoy on those cold nights (wood is not provided).

Upstairs you will find 2 Bedrooms with Queen Beds and attached bath with a shower as well as a loft room with 2 twin beds for the kids. This vacation rental is close to the local pub that plays live music most Saturday nights in the summer. So you will either enjoy a free show and let the kids stay up late or have an easy walk back from a night out. Music plays until 10pm-12am. IF you are not wanting to enjoy the free concert we suggest packing ear plugs for those nights.

This cabin can be rented together with Osprey Nest as Sanctuary in the Shire for larger groups up to 20.

We loved our stay at Hummingbird Cottage! VERY clean, well appointed, and fantastic location! It is so close to the beach and all the restaurants and shops in town. We walked to the beach every morning for sunrise, and again at sunset. There is even a real hummingbird in the bushes outside. We would 100% stay here again.

Great Location!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved the location of this home. Very clean and exactly as described! Quick walk to beach and town, and no stress if you forget something because of where it's located. The only thing we think could be improved was that the bed mattress downstairs as it was very uncomfortable.

Thank you so much for your review. The mattress is a new mattress as of 2022 but we know that mattress comfort can be very different for each guest based on preference. We are sorry this new mattress did not meet your preference but are so glad you enjoyed the other aspects of the Hummingbird Cottage.

Great location but a little janky

This was a great location- very close to downtown and the beach. It was a good spot to bring a big dog with outdoor space (a small dog might escape below the fence.) both bathrooms are accessible through a bedroom and the downstairs bathroom smelled so badly of septic fumes it was basically unusable. The doorknob of the upstairs bathroom fell off. In addition a broken garbage can and threshold gave it a scrappy feel. The ceilings are also low so tall people might struggle here.

Crystal, We appreciate you letting us know of the issues you found because if they are not reported we can not fix them. The septic issues is fixed, The door knobs in this home are antique and can be tricky. The handle has been fixed. The garbage can has been replaced. We did offer to move you and to come repair any of these items immediately when you reported them but you chose for us to wait until your departure. Our goal is to provide a 5 star stay so we would have been happy to come to resolve all issues that were possible to resolve or move you if we could not resolve them.

Hummingbird House

The house was clean, updated (upstairs being the best) The proximity to the beach was great, shops, general small grocery store next street over (not full scale for general shopping great for last minute), hummingbirds do come! Only issue for us was the yard is not fully fenced- the gate itself is not close to the ground which will allow your dog to escape, parts of the fence are not attached to adjoining fence allowing other areas for escape with parts of the fence having a pretty good amount of gap underneath - if you are looking to put your dog out to potty by themselves- don’t trust they are enclosed. Outside of this inconvenience we enjoyed our stay!

We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. The homeowner is working on replacing the deck and getting it fully fenced in. We will make sure and do a temporary fix for future guests until the new fence is built. Thank you for the feedback.

Convenient sweet spot

We might suggest providing a boot tray and a coat rack at the entry as the rainy weather requires a sheltered spot and there is not an overhang outside.

The rental was in a great location-close to the beach and town. The home was clean and in good shape. The home was pet friendly and had a fenced yard, but it was not escape proof. At times, we had difficulty getting connections for our IPads in the bedrooms.
