Newly renovated !!! New pictures to follow.The Oceanfront Pali Kai cottages are perched on a bluff over looking beautiful Kalapaki Bay. This cottage features 4 bedrooms/ 4 bathrooms , free wifi, AC/washer/dryer. Located on a private/gated street. Set in the heart of the 800 acre world famous Royal Sonesta Kauai Resort and Kauai Lagoons Golf course. Sonesta beach access and great golf rates give you the advantages of the resort and yet you are living in a private home. We are in walking distance from restaurants, sandy beach, surf, golf, tennis, with gorgeous views overlooking Beach and Water.

The lanais look out over the bay and at any time you can watch surfers, canoe paddlers, sail boats and occasional dolphins and sea turtles. Open the sliding glass doors and relax on lounges with a glass of wine and enjoy beautiful sunsets.

The short walk to the elevator will bring you down to the most beautiful beach and offers wide array of water sports, kayaking, snorkeling, sailing, and outrigger canoe paddling. Arrange lessons or equipment from Kauai Beach Boys concession, located next to Duke's restaurant.
There are various other open air restaurants within walking distance.

Wonderful stay

We had a wonderful stay on Kauai! The place was perfect for our family/friends. It was a little outdated but for being by the ocean and beach, it was expected. Fun time!

Excellent location!

I would stay here again, great location! Walk to beach, beautiful view, saw turtles just below us, nice walk to lighthouse. property manager very responsive.

Roomy and comfortable. We loved sitting on the deck watching the surfers. We even caught a rainbow on morning after a short rain shower. Beautiful!

The Bay House

The house is located with a beautiful view of the bay. The access to the beach is easy and an enjoyable walk. There were 4 couples and a baby on our trip and the house is set up perfectly for our needs.

Overall good, few kinks

Great location, close to beach and walking distance to restaurants. Has laundry and plenty of beach chairs and toys. One side lacks an oven so if you aren't renting both sides this could be a problem. One side had a main room AC not working, though a portable one was brought over late in the stay. The VRBO listing needs to be updated because futons are not available in the master bedroom on the B side. The pull out couches lack comfortable mattresses. However, it was beautiful to wake up to the ocean everyday!

Great Stay

This was the perfect place to stay for our family vacation. With four bedrooms and two pull out couches, it slept the 10 of us easily. Plenty of room for us to be all together and at the same time have our own space. Loved having two kitchens and the four bathrooms were a lifesaver. We found the unit spotlessly clean and we had all the amenities required to cook our own meals. The location is perfect, views to the bay awesome, plenty of parking, trash picked up daily. Communication easy, as was check-in and check-out. If you have a large group as we did, we highly recommend this location.

Stunning views

Overall the property was beautiful- beautiful views and easy access to the beach. The flexibility of choosing multiple units worked for our larger party. The condo was stocked with supplies for both the beach and the unit. The location was great- central to the island, close to the airport. There was some general wear and tear that needed repair. We would return without question in the future.

The location is everything you've dreamed of and more!

I could sit and look at that view all day! The access to the hotel was very convenient, and the pool/gym/beach/facilities are amazing. The property manager was very responsive and helpful. It's more like staying at your friend's house...for example, the kitchen cabinets had coffee and filters, the showers had bottles of shampoo and conditioner, and the laundry has detergent...and we just replaced things as we used them. The property itself is going through a remodel...and there are places where the wallpaper was ripped off the walls...but honestly it was no big deal. We very much enjoyed our stay. From the hotel, folks were like, "You're staying up there!?!!?" They were impressed.

Musty, but Marriott amenities

I read many reviews that said this rental was dated (which it definitely was). Unfortunately, it was also very musty--especially in the lower level unit. The wallpaper in those bathrooms had visible black mold! Even the upper units had a musty smell. I realize this may be common in a tropical location, but this was excessive compared to our other rental. Obviously others have felt this way as each unit had numerous cans of air freshener in multiple rooms. The sheets in one bedroom also smelled, as if they maybe hadn't been washed. On the plus side, it was spacious for all 16 of us. Nice balconies with a great view. The biggest benefit was the use of the Marriott amenities, which were just a short walk away. The 8 kids in our party loved the pool and beach! Towels and water was provided at the pool. Also it was an easy walk to Dukes for a wonderful meal. When booking, I saw other properties on the same road with Marriott access. I do wish I had spent a bit more money and picked one of them, but if nothing else were available I would potentially recommend this one.

Great stay near Kalapaki beach!

Arrived about a half hour after check in time. Suzanne and cleaning crew were still there finishing up. Units smelled very strong of Lysol and cleaning solutions. After the family arrived (8 total), we found that all our feet and socks were blackened by the dirty floors. We all took off shoes when entering! We commenced to clean the floors with Swifters that were in the closets, so that helped. Overall the units were clean but somewhat dated. Needed new paint and some drywall fixing from past leaks. The upper bedrooms were roomy but disappointing since there were no blinds on the large windows, so no blocking of afternoon sun and morning light. The bedroom and bath windows were glass louvers from the 60's that did not close properly. Therefore the bathrooms were always hot, and could hear everything from outside. Airplanes, roosters, LOL. We slept with eye blinds and ear plugs as needed. Kitchen appliances were updated and had newer comfortable furniture downstairs. Had all the cooking utensils needed. Even a rice cooker! Had ample beach toys in closets which were a plus. Also left a few others for the next guests! We stayed a couple days at the Royal Sonesta before checking in, and found that using their amenities during the condo stay was no problem. We enjoyed our stay and the location near restaurants and shopping. Dukes has great food and drinks, and Sonesta pool bar had happy hour every day that was a plus. Overall, would stay here again in beautiful Kauai!

Communication A+. Location is easy from Lihue airport, with that said it’s a busy airway with tourist helicopters all day and flights alike. Location could use a deep clean. Which I understand it’s hard with quick turnaround. Had unit A/B which worked out as one the washers didn’t work as well as it didn’t have full oven. No kettles in either. Great home base. Sunsets amazing.

Kauai Stay

It was a lovely place with great space. Accommodated our family of 11. View was amazing and beach access easy to get to. Beds were comfortable even the sofa beds! Could have used a rice cooker, we are in Hawaii after all 😉 would definitely stay again!!

Air conditioning didn't work in condo A. Nice area with the bay. The pool at the Royal Sonesta was not available with the fee paid.. You could hear airport from this property.

Okay, but not great...

The location of the property wasn't too bad, but the island is pretty small so it doesn't take much to get to different parts of the island. The view was quite nice. The cleanliness of the place needs a little help. The AC didn't work well, it was quite hot in our room. The washer/dryer was not working and we were told it would be fixed, it never was, we stayed for 8 days! There were pots and pans that were left that were dirty and had rust all over them. We had to contact the host to be issued a refund on the pool access. Still waiting on a detailed copy of our stay, in which we have overpaid. It been almost a month!! The few nice things about the place is that it worked well for the two families we had. It was essentially 2 condos with a door that connected between the condos. Like I said, the view was nice and it was pretty close to the water.

Great Location, Renovated Unit!

The unit has been completely renovated and it's hard to think of a better location then Kalapaki Beach. Brought our family here for vacation, and it couldn't have been better. Sunset views, with restaurants, beach, beach rentals, golf and shopping all within easy walking distance. Kalapaki beach is in a protected bay, so it's a great place to learn to surf, paddle board, snorkel or swim. Proximity to Lihue is great for shopping, and also for getting around the island. Fantastic golf course and discount, very happy with the rental - the pictures don't do it justice, and the property manager is very responsive! We will be back!
