Riverside Retreat - Views Galore. Near DC/Baltimore and Annapolis, MD

Let the Riverside Retreat be your next home away from home! This light and airy home is newly renovated with waterfront views from every room. Right off the Chesapeake Bay on the West River, this home checks all the boxes and is only 45 minutes from DC/Baltimore. This comfortable, luxurious setting welcomes those that want views, water access and indoor / outdoor entertainment. You will have beautiful sunrises and warm sunsets and so much river and wild life to see.

The space -
Welcome to my riverfront home known as Riverfront Retreat! This home is very special and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. I’m Robin and have lived in this home for close to five years; within the last four years this home has been completely renovated and it is my mission to allow others to create their own experiences near the Chesapeake Bay. Note - Pictures feature a boat that is not included with the property rental.

First Floor:
When you walk in the front door, you are immediately greeted with a floor plan that provides an abundance of natural light from all angles. As you enter the home, you will experience a bright all-season sunroom with floor to ceiling windows (windows in this home are screenless so the views are crystal clear). From this room or the outdoor fire pit, you will enjoy beautiful sunsets. You can lounge or take advantage of the dedicated workspace. While enjoying river views, you can read a book, relax or work in luxurious comfort.

As you continue into the house, you will find yourself in the living room that opens into the dining space. The living room has a sprawling sectional, marble topped coffee table, 65” HD TV and fireplace. You will enjoy family/group time in this space for playing games, watching TV or just hanging out! The dining room provides seating for 8-10 with a console table that can be used for serving meals prepared in the gourmet kitchen.

Just off the dining area, you will find a gourmet kitchen with access to a large deck (24x16’) that enables seamless entertainment. This kitchen provides a French Door refrigerator, 36” gas cooktop and two wall ovens. Your cooking experience will be enhanced by the large windows looking out over the pier, deck and back cove. Adjacent to the kitchen, you will also enjoy a sitting/game room complete with a 50” HD TV and a welcoming coffee bar. Such a peaceful place to start your day!

Further down the first-floor hallway, you will find two bedrooms and two bathrooms. As you step into the primary bedroom, you are greeted with 12 feet of grand window views of the West River with adjacent ensuite (again with grand window views). This bedroom is large, light and airy; the bathroom has exposed brick and a large shower. Across the hall is a large custom closet / laundry room for all of the luxury and storage you will need during your stay.

The second bedroom on this floor gets beautiful sunrise views with access to the hallway full bath. The entire first floor is met with views of folks on the river, including osprey, geese and ducks going about their daily life. The hallway bathroom has a custom shower with teak seating for your comfort. Windows and doors provide the best views and privacy; they have custom blinds and shades with the primary bedroom shades remotely operated for your comfort.

Second Floor:
Just off the sitting room, you will find a staircase leading to a grand space that combines a bedroom, working space, sectional, and a 60” HD TV. This space has four dormers that overlook the river and back cove – views from all angles! Each dormer provides something special – a vanity for preparing for your day, a lounge area complete with a hammock and finally a desk for journaling, working or crafting. The final dormer is in the ensuite (with a full tub). A murphy bed also provides space for additional sleepers. This cozy BoHo space is very large but affords you so many options and comfort to escape the rest of the house to sleep, relax or just enjoy the views.

Outside:
In my opinion, the outdoor space of this home is one of its greatest features – views galore. I have just under half an acre, an expansive deck, gas grill (with in-line propane – no clumsy tanks!), gas fire pit, wood fire pit, dining space and an outdoor sitting area. Imagine cooking in the gourmet kitchen and walking right out to the patio dining area. The dining table seats 6-10 and the sitting area includes a loveseat and chair – plenty of space for you and your guests!

Now, about the water… you will have access to the pier that includes a landing area with two lounge chairs. What a great way to catch some sun and relax, just steps from the house – or if you want to catch your next meal, fishing and crabbing from the pier are so much fun. There is also a small beach area to enter the water with a stand up paddle board or kayak (provided). The boat you see in photos is not included; however, if you wanted to bring a boat, there are boat ramps close by and you are welcome to use the pier for docking. This access to the water is very unique and really puts the final touches on a perfect Riverfront Retreat experience.

In addition…
To ensure you have the best experience, I will provide you with the items that you’ll need at the Riverside Retreat: coolers of various sizes, beach chairs, beach towels, kayak, stand up paddle board, boogie board, crab net, and crab pots. For the kiddos I provide a portable pac-n-play, saucer with play toys and a bin of books and toys.

This area provides so much to do. You can charter a boat nearby with a captain to either fish or simply experience the Chesapeake Bay. There are many restaurants that have delicious seafood; many have outdoor tiki bars with live music. If you golf, there is a golf resort 20 minutes away.
