*NOTE* As of December 2019 there was some coastal erosion to the front of the beachfront condos at Kiahuna. You will still be able to enjoy a breathtaking ocean front experience! Railing has been installed on the Lanai for our guests' safety. See the video for details.

The PHOTOGRAPHS of Beachhouse #5 are up-to-date as of December 2023. Mother Nature was tough on our beachfront in 2019 and 2020 but things have been much the same since then. The sand on the beach ebbs and flows on our beautiful sandy beach but the grassy beach berm is largely unchanged for the past few years.

Kiahuna Plantation Beachhouse #5 offers all of the amenities that you could desire for convenience and comfort. Golfing, shopping, swimming, snorkeling, surfing, and being pampered are the most strenuous activities on most Kiahuna Plantation visitors’ itineraries. Beachhouse #5 offers a completely different kind of “Beach Front” experience with fantastic views from your lanai of the ocean and stunning grounds; this is complete perfection!


There is a California King-size bed in the Bedroom and a Queen-size Sleeper-Sofa in the Living Room. All linens in the Bedroom and towels and toiletries in the newly remodeled Bathroom are provided. This Beachhouse also has a fully equipped and remodeled kitchen, if you choose to dine-in. With new cabinets, imported 'Blue-eye' granite countertops, and premium stainless steel appliances this Kitchen is sure to please. All Cookware and Dinnerware are provided as well. If you want to grill some fresh island fish for dinner the state-of-the-art gas barbeque is located just a few steps from our Beachhouse.

Beachhouse #5 is equipped with every amenity including Cable Flat-Screen TVs, DVD player, Bose Stereo CD, DVDs; even two (2) alarm clocks so you don’t miss your plane home.

Guests have 'strongly recommended' Beachhouse #5 for a truly unforgettable experience describing it as 'one of the best beachhouses at Kiahuna.' Beachhouse #5 is the center downstairs unit in Building #2 (pictured.) Kiahuna Building #2 is often featured as Kiahuna Plantation advertisers show Building #2 in their photos but BEACHHOUSE #5 IS THE ONLY 1-BEDROOM UNIT AVAILABLE FOR DIRECT-RENTAL FROM-THE-OWNER IN BUILDING #2.

Breathtaking view, sound of ocean, and ease of beach access made this stay amazing! Best location in the entire resort. Central location for activities based in Lihue and Captain Andy’s which leaves from port on the west side. I highly recommend and was so sad to leave.

Fantastic!!!!! The checking in process was very easy. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions. The condo was clean and neat. The kitchen had all of the utensils etc that we needed. And the best part of the experience was that the beach was right outside of deck with a completely unobstructed view of the ocean!

A bit noisy

We found it noisy due to possible low insulation and surf lesson instructions outside our lanai at 8 am. Noise from upstairs tenants was bothersome. Lanai railing was at eye level unfortunately and faced west which was hot.

Kiahuna Plantation

We love PoiPu and always stay at the Kiahuna Plantation. It's a beautiful property with barbeques and a pool. Also close to shopping and good restaurants.

Amazing long weekend in Poi’pu

The Kiahuna Plantation did not disappoint. We have been here three times now, and it has been amazing each and every time. The location is just so amazing. Definitely will be coming back. Mahalo.

Best Beach Location!!!

We loved staying in Kiahuna plantation!!! Right on the beach- and the grand lawn was stellar! Nice having the Sheraton next door. Conveniently located to everything! Should note that there is no AC- the breeze though greatly mitigated that- the place had such a safe, family vibe- that we left the doors open most of the time. Only recommendation is to do a cull of the kitchen ware, lots of redundant, utensils. Will be back!

Beachfront Bliss with Surfing Show

Amazing location

We have never been able to stay this close to the ocean, it was amazing having it maybe 10 feet away. The unit is set up with louvered windows front and rear that allow the breeze and sound of the ocean to flow through 24/7 if you desire. The development is not new, but is well cared for, with manicured mature landscaping. The condo has a few small defects that are more than outweighed by the thoughtful touches. We were sad to leave , and will return again when we visit Kauai.

Blatant Misrepresentation & Rodent Problem

We selected this unit based on its VRBO photos and description, specifically for the lanai, (20 feet to the beach, as still stated in the description as of 12/30/23), palm trees and beautiful grass area bordered by manicured hedges leading directly to the beach; as well as a stunning, unobstructed view of the ocean from the lanai/grass. That is what was shown in the photos- At one time it was absolutely gorgeous. We arrived to find that NOTHING in the exterior photos remained. Following conveying our disbelief of the actual property condition to the hosts, a comment was added about the fence/railing and photos were updated to reflect what we actually arrived to find: NO GRASS AREA or hedges- those have been washed into the ocean and "20 feet to the beach" does not exist anymore. NO PALM TREES, as both have been cut down and only their stumps remain. NO UNOBSTRUCTED LANAI VIEW NO ACCESS TO THE BEACH from the lanai A fence is now in place, obstructing the ocean view when seated on the lanai, and blocks beach access. A look at other negative reviews revealed that the host knew the photos were inaccurate-see host Jeff's reply to Scott F. "We are having new photos taken as we don’t ever want anyone to ever accuse us of false advertising..." Additionally we shared the unit with rodents since an alternate beach unit was not available. Picking up droppings each morning was another disheartening part of our stay as we were against the glue traps we were offered.

Amazing Beachfront Location

The lanai is ten feet from the ocean at high tide. We enjoyed dining on the lanai, watching surf school right off the balcony and of course the amazing sunsets. We appreciated the little touches that the owners added to the condo like providing a cooler and laundry basket for us to use. BTW although there is no washer or dryer in the unit, the complex does have a guest laundry facility. It's $3 for basic washing and $3 for 45 minutes of drying. The machines accept credit cards but not quarters. There is no air-conditioning in the unit but falling asleep to the sound of the ocean is the best. I would definitely stay here again.

Spectacular location and ocean view

Loved hearing and watching the waves, the are literally right out the door. This makes the stay!! Plan to travel light, there is very little space to store your things—a small bureau with a bottom drawer that falls out, and a bit of hanging space. Store your luggage in the living room because bottom of closet already houses lots of stuff. But who cares?! The view and sounds are unbeatable. Would most definitely stay here again and again.

False advertising

See previously posted review. His post says it all. The pictures are totally false. You cannot access beach from unit. There is no grass. A total disappointment. Totally overpriced for a unit that you cannot have a full view of the ocean without looking through railing. We made the most of it and it didnt ruin the whole vacation...but do yourself a favor and do not book this unit. See my review on Yelp.

Fabulous Condo Location........MISLEADING PHOTOS

We got to the beautiful location and opened the blinds at 330pm to find, no private yard as ALL the property photos show there to be a nice 20' private yard off the lanai that now has a railing to a eroded beach with no access and zero privacy.......oh and everyday surf school starts at 8am and goes until 5pm.....and they stage the boards and all the families on the eroded beach in front where the yard I rented was supposed to be.....We had screaming kids all day everyday in the chunks of remaining sod and I often had to ask the kids to get off the railing so we could have some space, but we had to leave everyday from 8am to 4pm just to have quiet. NOT A RELAXING CONDO LOCATION AND THE PICS ARE A LIE TO THE CURRENT BEACH EROSION that is not brough to your true attention until after booked, but the extent was not know and the pictures to all publications and web/VRBO sites is 100% FALSE ADVERTISING. I could have rented a house on the beach for the money I spend on the night rate of this condo. VERY DISAPPOINTING CONDO We also had no fans, no beach chairs so we bought two beach chairs, and fans to make the unit usable. In my 10 trips to the islands I have always had a condo that had everything........ BEAUTIFUL CONDO AND PROPERTY OVERALL BUT PISS POOR REPRESENTATION OF THE ACTUAL PROPERTY.

Perfect spot!

Loved the beachfront unit. Hearing the ocean at night was so peaceful. We claimed the beach cove right in front of the unit almost daily which was very convenient. Loved our stay, great memories made!

On the Ocean

The condo is exactly on the ocean, about 5 feet. Waves are soothing and at times strong. The first day here there was a storm with 20-30 mph wind that howled all night long, but the next day, buy late morning, sunny as usual. The resort is in a great location, surf lessons in front, 3 + major resorts within a mile either way, sights easily accessible. Great restaurants were plentiful, although reservations are required to get a seat after 5 pm. I would recommend this condo to anyone who likes the ocean/beach and nature activities.

Accuracy of online listing

This is a very comfortable condo. I chose it because it showed the bathroom had a bathtub and I love a hot bath at the end of the day. The bathroom has been remodeled to include a walk-in shower only and I was a bit disappointed. But the shower was awesome (for a shower). It can get a bit noisy with people and the sound of the surf since the condo is right next to the beach but that could be a plus, too. We enjoyed watching the instructors and students of the surfing school while sitting on the deck. Hilarious at times! I would recommend this condo.

Great location

If you want to hear and see the ocean all day, this is the place. The lanai is 30 feet to the ocean. I would recommend the property be decluttered. The closet and all the drawers are packed with stuff and had to unpack the closet in order to hang clothing. Property could use some updating. The location is great. Property personnel are very kind and helpful.

On the beach

Good unit and location. Just open the sliding doors and you’re on the beach. Owner did disclose there’s a significant erosion problem which took about 10+ feet away from the lawn/dune area shown in some older pictures off the lanai.

Paradise

Great location if you like to be serenaded by the waves crashing right outside your door. Unit was well appointed and perfect for our needs. Only potential drawback is that it’s proximity to the beach does make it susceptible to the noise of kids playing and from the surfing lessons out front. We were out adventuring all day anyway so were not really affected.
