Our cheerful 3-BR, 2-Bath Beach Cottage is available to rent year-round, whatever your pleasure! With a beach access path to one of the best beaches in the Southeast, an awesome screened front porch with ceiling fan, a handmade hammock, you will get back to the quality life! The Isle of Palms park is a mere 1 block away (with free tennis and fields!), the Marina about a mile away, and don't forget that you are just minutes from top restaurants and nightlife on IOP and Sullivan's Island!
How's only 20 minutes to the 'Country's Top Vacation Destination' downtown Charleston, SC and all its history, culture, and amazing food sound to you?? Great spot! It rained the entire time we were there but we had a lot of fun playing board games and watching movies whenever we were at the house. Great location!

First time on Isle of Palms, great vacation!

We were in the area for a baseball tournament at the shipyard park. This was a good location as many of our teammates were staying nearby. Great access to the beach. Clean house. Great communication. Betty was always extremely responsive when I asked a question.

Dream Vacation

“Out of Pocket” was absolutely perfect for our small group, including three grandchildren ages four through twelve. It was cute and quirky in the most unique and creative ways; definitely not your average cookie-cutter beach house, and my daughter-in-law and I loved that about it. The fact that the owners are so friendly and accessible (the second story is their living area, after all) is one big plus. There is everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, you could possibly need for cooking, grilling (gas AND charcoal grills), eating, going to the beach, playing out in the yard, playing games inside or on the screened-in front porch, building a fire in the fire pit, relaxing in the hammock, riding the bikes which come with the rental…. I could go on and on! The Allison’s have thought of it all! The walk to the beach is so short and once you cross the street, the access is straight ahead and well-marked with a “30” sign (for 30th Street). It’s a lovely walk along a tree-covered shady path almost the entire way. Once back, the outdoor shower was great to rinse off in, and even though it doesn’t have hot water running to it, it felt plenty warm. There’s also a water hose near the shower, and the grandsons preferred it to the shower. Did I mention that there’s a super nice park only one block away? The grandkids had such a great time playing on all the equipment. I can’t say enough good about the house, its owners, and the location. We loved it and will be back!

The BEST Place to stay!

We spent 4 nights at Out of Pocket and absolutely had the best experience! There were 5 Adults and 2 kids (Age 3 and 1). Plenty of room for everyone. There isn't anything I can think of that we needed that wasn't provided. Quality Tommy Bahama beach chairs for all, a wagon to take to the beach, umbrella, easy up....and toys as well. The beds were so comfortable. Sitting on the screened porch in the morning and at night was great. The fire pit area in the back is very festive with firewood provided as well. The house is located within a short walk to the beach and sits in an adorable neighborhood with beautiful houses. The owners, BettyLynn and Chip were so friendly and welcoming. The beach there is stunning with miles of sand. We will most definitely be back.

Great stay near the beach!

Betty Lynn was quick to respond and very kind in welcoming our family and guests to the property. The house is super close to the beach and was perfect for hosting our group which included small children, and had plenty of toys and beach gear stocked to make for an easy visit. We would definitely stay again when returning to IOP!

Clean and close to the beach

This property is adorable! Very close walk to the beach and hosts have everything you could possible need to such as beach chairs, sand toys, kayaks, boogie boards, bikes, and beach towels. The house is super clean and has a washer and dryer. It’s a little tight for 8 people but still had a great time. The outdoor shower was fabulous for getting the sand cleaned off. Betty Lynn was very accommodating and quick to respond. We would definitely stay here again!

Great home

The home was very clean and well stocked with everything we could need from kitchen utensils to children’s toys. Close to beach. Our hosts were accommodating and quick to respond to our questions. Our family of five adults and 2 children fit quite nicely. Would recommend!!

Cozy and comfortable, excellent location

It was everything I hoped for. Very cozy and clean and exactly what we needed for a few relaxing days at the beach. Chip and Betty are so friendly. 3 adults and two adult size kids fit comfortably although we probably could have used another room. King bed was very comfortable. Would have been perfect with smaller children. Cottage is well equipped. Amazing first visit to Isle of Palms!

Isle of Palms Dream Vacation!

Adorable rental with everything you will need for a beach vacation. Hosts are amazing! Very short walk to the beach. We loved not having to bring our own chairs and umbrellas and the wagon was great for hauling everything to the beach. My teenagers loved the bikes! The beds were very comfortable. Very close to Charleson & Sullivan's Island, which were part of our vacation as well as Isle of Palms. Highly recommend!

Perfect Beach Vacation

This was our 3rd stay at Out of Pocket. Chip and BettyLynn are such welcoming, fantastic hosts. We love the house and its location for the beach, the local park, and Charleston. The house has a great outdoor space and chairs and toys to take to the beach. Chip took us out on his boat, which was so fun! They had everything we could need and made us feel like we were at home. We hope to return again next year!

Great for Bachelor Trip

Great stay. Perfect for a few guys away on the weekend. Close enough to plenty of golf courses. Very easy check in and out. Location was better than expected.
