3 bedroom, 2 bath house with pool. Close proximity to tons of outdoor adventures! Spend your days hiking, boating, or fishing at any of the many nearby lakes and hiking trails, then take a dip in the pool. Enjoy a meal in the fully stocked kitchen and watch the sunset over the mountains around the gas fire pit. Note pool closes September 19, 2024 and will reopen in May of 2025.

We had such a wonderful vacation here! The house is beautiful and had everything we needed. We (especially the kids) loved the pool. The views were gorgeous. Renee was great with any questions we had and was quick to answer. We would love the opportunity to stay at Heart’s Desire again in the future!

Another great stay

I have stayed here before - and I returned for the same happy experience. The property is perfect for a quiet stay: immaculately clean, very comfortable furniture, completely equipped with all the modern - and new - conveniences, great views, entertaining animals, and a great pool. Although I am traveling alone to take advantage of the pool and quiet reading/work time, this house would also be great for a group. I plan to be back again one or twice next year.

Renee was a fabulous communicator before and during our stay. We were getting in late and she was sure to turn on more lights to make it easier for us. The property itself was spectacular. Mountain views/farm field views/plenty of wildlife! The views and land were better than we could have imagined. The home itself was fully stocked of anything you could think of. Including items for the pups. One of the best properties I’ve stayed at. Our friends were very impressed with home size and the property. Thank you for the stay- it was fabulous!

Perfect location, beautiful home, an ideal spot for swimming and rest.

Exactly as described. The home is beautiful, well-appointed, and extremely comfortable. Spacious interior, with all conveniences. The location is outstanding. Beautiful views, and an excellent pool and pool house. The swimming could not have been better! Looking forward to staying again!

Perfect for our family getaway

The house, view, and pool were perfect for our family getaway! We greatly enjoyed the view from the porch and patio sitting area. The pool and pool house were loved and perfect for hanging out with the kids! The house was clean and well furnished. We would recommend it! The host was very responsive to fix the couple of small issues we encountered.

Our stay was seamless and the house was great for our group. We were celebrating our daughter’s graduation from Sweet Briar College and it was not only just the right distance from school but, a spacious and clean home with fantastic views!! Simply PERFECT!

Amherst house

We had a wonderful time at this property. The house was clean, well-stocked for kitchen and pool use, and big enough for all of us to spread out. We spent many hours in the well maintained pool and pool house. The view of the mountains is beautiful and it was all birds, butterflies and deer walking through the yard. The host was very responsive. Just a lovely place, I highly recommend.

A little piece of heaven.

We had a great time at your beautiful home. We had our furbabies there and they loved roaming around the property. Everything was well stocked,comfortable and clean. The best part of this beautiful property was there were no people around!!!! We can't wait to plan our next stay in the summer. Thank you and your family for allowing us to stay 🙏 ❤️

Wonderful country house with a POOL!

The house was neat and tidy, very comfortable with plenty of space, and a fully stocked kitchen! We had everything we needed for a lovely 5 day stay in the country. We went into town to meet friends for dinner and to pick up groceries. Otherwise we just played in the pool, read on the large front porch, watched the sunset, and RELAXED! It was the perfect stay for a family who was exhausted from a busy week in D.C.

Thanksgiving Vaca

We stayed at this property for 4 nights over Thanksgiving. There was plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 large dogs (Great Dane and German Shepherd). The kitchen was spacious enough for us to lay everything prepped and ready for the big day. The communication with the property manager was phenomenal - prompt, courteous, and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back.

Weekend Gateaway

I had such a wonderful time staying at this cozy house hosted by the friendliest host Renee! The house has all the basic necessity and is very well organized! There where many small and considerate details that made our stay extream comfortable.There was even a speaker set up by the pool, creating the perfect ambiance for relaxation and fun. The host's warmth and excellent communication made us feel so welcome, and we're already looking forward to our next visit. It's definitely a place we'd recommend to anyone seeking a fantastic getaway!

Stunning views in a beautiful home

Absolutely gorgeous views of the mountains from the front porch! The house was just as beautiful and fully stocked with any and everything we could need, including tons of pool toys that my boys loved. It was a great getaway from our normal NoVA living. Not far of a drive to get any groceries or food either. The Amherst Corner Restaurant was also a great find when returning back to the house after a day spent out in Lynchburg! Renee was always responsive in the very few times I needed to reach out, which was great. I could not recommend this place enough and would definitely stay again.

Girls Trip, perfect country home with a POOL

The owners have thought of everything! The pool house is stocked with corn hole, large cooler, portable speaker and charger, bug repellent bracelets, mini fridge! We hung out a lot at the pool and pool house. Even ate dinner down there. The house is on a very private lot with stunning views! Binoculars were even provided on the front porch.We visited Ankida Ridge Vineyard, definitely worth the trip up the mountain! Overall we had a fabulous time and would stay here again! We miss the pool already!

Relaxing country house

Very relaxing week in the country. Lovely big clean house with comfortable beds and multiple places to sit and relax. Views outside were amazing. Pool was so big and clean and refreshing in the heat. Couple of small things maybe to take care of. Shower in small bathroom didn’t work so the whole gang had to traipse into our bathroom. Wee mouse in pantry but I understand it’s the country. Grill in pool house was very dirty. Small problem with ac but was fixed very quickly. All in all a very happy stay and I look forward to returning!

Weekend getaway

We stayed at this amazing property for a long weekend. We wanted to just get away and relax. That is what we did! The house was amazing. Everything was labeled and easily found in the kitchen, The house looks as if the hosts had spent hours researching what the perfect rental would need and it showed. Everything we needed was there. We just showed up with clothes and swimsuits. The hosts went out of their way to make us feel at home. (Including our dogs) The pool and pool house were above our expectations. There was a fridge and floats there for us to use. Our dogs loved being able to run around in the big yard. We will be going back again!

Restful vacation in home-away-from-home

We vacationed at Heart's Desire during the July 4th week. The home is as advertised. Very comfortable furniture and beds. Extremely well stocked kitchen with every gadget you might need for your stay. The rooms are spacious with a very nice, large, dining room table that will accommodate larger families for meals, or as we used it for a puzzle table.We especially enjoyed sunset. The front of the home faces West and every night around 8:15pm we would pour a drink and sit on the front porch to watch the sun set behind the mountains.The home is situated at the end of dead end gravel/dirt road that is well maintained. It is very quiet and restful since there is no through traffic on the road. There are two other homes along the road and they belong to the hosts which makes it very convenient if there are any difficulties during your stay.The home backs up to heavy woods behind it and to the right while the front of the home faces a large open valley with cattle pasture. While watching the sunset in the evenings we would often have cattle grazing near the fence which was a special treat for our dogs since they are "city dogs" and had never seen or heard anything like a cow before. Almost every night we would also see off in the distance a good sized herd of deer that came out to graze as well.Speaking of deer, we would also see them often in the backyard where they came out from the woods to graze on the grass.A perfect home to "get away from it all!"

The property was clean, spacious, well-equipped, & relaxing! It was the perfect house to accommodate me, my husband, our dog, & our 2 friends when we came to town for a musical festival. We had never been to the area & Renee was so helpful in every way (she gave very detailed directions so we could find the place without any issues, provided local grocery stores, & was always quick to reply when we reached out with any questions). The only "issue" we ran into was really low water pressure the first time we went to use the showers & Renee was literally at the house in minutes addressing it. It was a simple fix due to the filter getting clogged from the well water, & all Renee had to do was flush it - I only mention it so future guests are aware of it & know to check the water pressure first thing just to ensure that she's available if needed to come & flush it. Our dog enjoyed having so much space to roam, but with the local animals around we still kept her a on leash of course. Since we did a lot cooking while we were there I really appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was with cookware, tupperware, & items used during cooking (ex. salt, cooking spray, etc.), as well as a lot of plates, bowls, & silverware, which allowed us to have multiple meals without having to immediately wash the dishes after we finished one meal. The beds & couches were all very comfortable & the home was spotless. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay & would certainly stay here again!
