ELEGANT OCEAN FRONT BEACH COTTAGE

Perfect location to relax and enjoy everything Mother Nature has to offer your mind, body and soul at this one of a kind Ocean Front Location.
This is a mid-term rental 30 days or more.

Hiking and walking trails directly out your front door. 1 minute walk to the beach below, a quick walk to Distillery Restaurant with Ocean front views or 2 minute walk to a 100+ year old cypress tree forest of breathtaking ocean view.
Super- High speed wifi is included if work or connection to the world is necessary during your visit. This one of a kind location is breathtaking beautiful. We are fortunate to welcome return guests year after year!

Nothing Between you and the ocean atop the bluffs of the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve along the coast of San Mateo County. Watch the sea lions resting on the rocks and beach below. A few miles from Half Moon Bay, Fifteen minutes from San Francisco Airport, a peaceful retreat in our Coastal Community of Moss Beach.

Our Cottage is furnished with our guests comfort and privacy our priority. Falling asleep and waking up 30 Feet from the Pacific Ocean is a dream. It really, doesn't get much better. Not appropriate for younger children, located on a 30 Foot bluff above the beach.

The shared, garden area has a lounge sectional overlooking the ocean. Nothing in between you and the expansive pacific ocean. This area is shared between both of our cottages, situated far enough away from the cottages to have your private time with the beautiful ocean views.

There are 2 separated cottages on this property. These two cottages were built in 1906, visited by Jack London. They both have been designed to take full advantage of the Ocean Views , you're able to view the ocean from every living space inside each cottage, including each comfy king bed. Driftwood cottage is equicped with excellent hi-speed Wifi, fully furnished and fully stocked to move right in.
Easy parking, complimentary washer/dryer on premises, ALL utilities included for your peace of mind.
Come visit and know you will have no worries during your visit. Your comfort is our priority!

The luxurious king bed is a white leather pillow top king bed with an added memory foam for an unbelievable nights sleep. Our guests repeat each other , how visiting this close to the ocean is Relaxing, Rejuvinating for the body and soul. You cannot be closer to the ocean, unless you were camping on the beach below. This location is quiet, peaceful and a lovely surprise to all upon opening the gate.

The garden area is shared between the two cottages. There is a lounge seating area around the Gas fire pit also recliner lounge chairs. For your privacy they both have their own private decking with beautiful outdoor furniture. Its all about your comfort your privacy with views of the Ocean.

Within a minute from the front door your able to walk to the beach below. Exploring the tide pools at low tide is another activity, bring sturdy shoes. You may take an easy 5 minute hike through a magical 100 Year old Cypress Forest above the Marine Refuge. This 5 min. hike leads to another beautiful calm sandy beach to explore. Another 5 minute walk to the Distillery Restaurant situated on a cliff overlooking the Ocean, with the Legend of the Blue Lady.

The proximity of our cottage to Hiking, Beaches, Harbor and Restaurants is within 3 miles. There is a paved Bike / Walking trail from the Princeton Harbor to Half Moon Bay along the Beautiful Beaches on the coast (about 10mi long). Our proximity to San Francisco, the Wine Country or Monterey makes it easy for a day trip in any direction in the San Francisco Bay Area.

After a day of activity, it is Amazing to sit in the comfortable lounge chairs and watch the Sun sizzle into the Pacific Ocean with your favorite beverage in hand, a warm cozy blanket and toast, to another day at the Beach!

Perfection.

There are not enough words to describe how perfect this stay was. The view just doesn't stop and the cottage has everything a person could need! Carol and Jerome,the hosts,are the kindest people you could ever meet! The location is spectacular as it is basically in the Fitzgerald marine preserve, very short walk. The pillar point hiking trails are in walking distance too,our dog loved it. Great restaurants in walking distance also. The vibe is so chill on the property,sitting on our deck and watching the waves and whales was a favorite activity. I wholly recommend this property and cant wait to go back someday!

This is a great location at a reasonable price. You are within walking distance of the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve and the coastal trails. There are beautiful Cyprus trees nearby and you can see the sea lions. The cottage itself has everything you will need. Pots, pans, dishes, coffee maker, toaster etc. to do your cooking. We enjoyed the sunsets, watching the whales breach, and long walks. Our dog enjoyed the long walks as well. The owners are great to work with. If you need anything, just ask Carol, and she will get it to you. Highly recommend it.

Oceanfront Moss Beach Cottage

The view from this cozy cottage is spectacular! The cottage is very comfortable and well stocked. We experienced beautiful sunny days perfect for long walks along the coastline at Pillar Point. We also had a few stormy windy days from the historic CA weather systems! It was a wonderful month and we look forward to returning next year.

Appropriate title...however, not ocean front but rather on bluffs.

Pictures can be deceiving. Too expensive for what it is. Small, very old, smelled bad (maybe animal-cat urine). My allergies were very bad the whole time we stayed there. Very small, old kitchen and bathroom. Did not enjoy the accommodations, but did enjoy the walking path with a view of ocean and beach.

this cottage is quite clean and had everything we needed for a 3 day stay. The fire pit was enjoyable particularly since it is on the bluff just above the ocean. Easy access to the beach a few blocks away where the seals relax and play. The bed is quite comfortable and the kitchen, although small had everything we needed and was pretty well stocked with essentials. Plenty of space for the luggage and clothes. The deck is quite nice but the chairs closer to the bluff were too alluring to use the deck. Carol is a great hostess and even made cookies for us when we arrived - warm from the oven. We would definitely return. I would pick this over their other unit.

Escaping the AZ heat!

Loved, loved this property! You canā€™t beat the view, youā€™re right there in your own little closed off world. While escaping the AZ heat, the first night I literally had to close the window, because the surf was so loud! Imagine that. Funny, since being from HMB youā€™d think I would have been used to the sound of the waves, and after the first couple of nights it reminded me of how familiar it really was. In June there is somewhat of a marine layer, (June Gloom) but for me it was like a welcome home. The beach was also closed because the seals were pupping. There was a lot of sinage letting you know. Hiking trails are right down the street with more unique and amazing views. The pictures on the listing from the Aloha Cottage, are exactly what you walk into. Very welcoming, and cozy, Im looking forward to coming back next year! The property owners themselves being a short distance away were very helpful and friendly, but not intrusive. . Grocery stores, restaurants and coffee shops are all within a short distance. I recommend Miramar beach in the mornings to take a walk with your dog! There is literally no one on the beach in the mornings.

Excellent respite!

If you love the ocean and cool, refreshing air, this is the place for you! I booked to get away from the crazy hot temps in the valley, and was not disappointed. The view is spectacular, and the location is perfect - a short walk to the marine preserve where there are harbor seals resting and tidepools, and also a beautiful cypress forest. There are lots of beautiful coastal walks nearby, plus so many options for hiking and biking. The property is well-maintained, and the cottage has all the amenities, in terms of cooking items, soap, paper towels, lotion, etc. The decor is cute, and even the dishes aren't your ordinary white plain ones - they have some colorful flair. There's a pitcher of filtered water in the 'frig (although he tap water seems good to me too) There is free on-site laundry. Even an embroidered robe to borrow for the month! the owners are very nice, quick to respond to Qs, but not intrusive. I have already booked for next year!

Delightful Cottage in Astonishing Setting

We spent the months of January and February in the cottage. It is charming, well-designed, and well-appointed. We were both working from home during this time, and we were able to make simple offices out of a desk at the back of the cabin and the dining table at the front. The setting is the most magical part of the whole experience. The cottage is just steps from a cliff overlooking the wild Pacific Ocean, with a nice landscaped garden in the foreground of the view. There were unprecedented storms during our stay, which brought torrential rain, winds, and power outages. Carol and Jerome were so kind in ensuring that we were comfortable during these days. On calm days, which would be much more common typically, the private cottage deck and shared bench and tables are wonderful places for a picnic or drink while watching the sunset. We were able to park just outside the fence and plug in our car to an exterior outlet. The neighbourhood is quiet and exceptionally friendly, which we discovered during daily dog walks. We loved this place and hope to return!

This place is amazing! The view is incredible and the cottage is comfortable, clean and perfect for a getaway to enjoy the beautiful California coast! Carol is a wonderful host and is very responsive to all requests and, as an added bonus, welcomed us with the most delicious cookies and a bottle of wine! The property is near to many walking trails and wonderful sights! The sunsets were spectacular and the sound of the ocean will lull you to sleep every night! Wonderful! You feel like you are in the ocean.

We spent a month there with our 2 dogs. We had forgotten what it was like to hear the surf as you slept. The cottage is very comfortable and has everything we needed. The horseshoe reefs below the cottage are incredible. Our pups loved the walks to Pillar Point. Carol and Jerome are great hosts. Breakfast at The Press in El Granada is farm to table excellence and the bar at Ketch Joanne gives local color. If you like beer and dogs, Hop Dogma is bomb.

Awesome retreat by the ocean.

We enjoyed our one month stay in this quiet spot with tremendous views. The house had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the area. Plenty of restaurants within 15 minutes for take out. Heaven! A place of beauty and peace

This place is a piece of heaven! The Driftwood Cottage is a location of absolute beauty and peace at the ocean. Carol and Jerome are fantastic hosts. It is a miracle how they manage to always give you privacy and solve your problems within hours at the same time. The location is perfect to visit San Francisco or driving down south the Highway No.1. Watching wales and pelicans while laying in bed or sitting in the chairs close to the bluf is a unique experience. The cottage is beautifully decorated, clean and cosy. Thank you again for unforgettable 6 weeks and for the delicious cookies I definitely want to come back! Aloha Ich habe 6 Wochen im Driftwood Cottage verbracht und jede Stunde genossen! Der Blick auf den Pazifik ist unvergleichlich. WƤhrend meines Aufenthalts im September und Oktober habe ich jeden Tag Wale gesehen. Die Vermieter Carole und Jerome haben die zauberhafte Gabe, jemanden absolute PrivatsphƤre zu geben, sind aber sofort prƤsent, wenn ein Problem zu lƶsen ist. Das Cottage ist direkt an einer Klippe, so dass keine SpaziergƤnger vorbeikommen und man vƶllig fĆ¼r sich ist. Den vorderen Sitzbereich teilt man sich mit den Mietern des zweiten Cottage, aber ich hatte die Lounge die ganzen Wochen fĆ¼r mich alleine. Moss Beach ist ein sehr kleines friedliches Dorf, in das Touristen gerne einkehren, um das Riff, den Naturpark und die Seehunde zu besichtigen. Das Dorf liegt direkt am Highway 1, den man in der Unterkunft allerdings gar nicht hƶrt. Man kommt von Moss Beach aus sehr gut nach San Francisco, kann aber auch in den SĆ¼den sehr schƶne AusflĆ¼ge unternehmen. Ich selbst kam sogar ohne Auto mehrere Wochen gut zurecht. Ich kann die Unterkunft nur sehr empfehlen!

Cozy Cottage - Great Location

Our stay was wonderful. Carol is very responsive and provided everything we needed in a pleasant and friendly manner. The cottage is in a quiet neighborhood and right next to a state park which made it very relaxing and enjoyable. No complaints, as we had all we needed.

A little piece of Heaven

I was in awe every day of my stay at this gem by the sea. The pictures donā€™t even begin to capture the absolute beauty of this place. I slept every night with the sliding glass door open so I could hear the sound of the waves. The cottage is so beautifully decorated, the bed was extremely comfortable and I had everything I needed for a months stay. I work from home so was pleasantly surprised to find there was even a desk in the back perfect for me to setup my computer. My hosts, Jerome and Carol, were there whenever I needed something but always gave me my privacy. Carol was even gracious enough to help me in setting up an afternoon barbecue for a group of friends one weekend. You will not be disappointed. I will be back one day.

Amazing location, GORGEOUS cottage, great value!

We stayed in this beautiful cottage for a full month, and could not have been happier. The views from the cottage were unbeatable. The cottage itself was adorable, clean, and very comfortable. Perfect amount of room for a couple. Carol and Jerome were fantastic hosts! When we arrived there were fresh flowers and champagne in our cottage. What more can you ask for?

Great stay!

We stayed here in November of 2014. This is a great cottage. The lady owner was gone but her husband and son took care of us. One of the best views I have ever seen. Had great walks through the nearby cypress forest and marine refuge. Bought great fish and mussels at the nearby market at the harbor. Cooked out on the gas grill and hung out at the fire pit every night. Property is totally enclosed at end of road right off Highway 1 in Moss Beach. About 30 minutes to airport. Little store is one minute away with great wine selection. It was the perfect size for the two of us. Would definitely go back to and visit again. Oh yes, go to the restaurant at the local airport for the best breakfast in the world!!

Subtle Perfection

Sweeping ocean views, with spectacular sunsets. A peek over the property edge will bring the neighboring tide pools into view... seals...pelicans....and people exploring the environs -- 50 feet below. If you are fortunate enough to find an opening for this peaceful slice of perfection, do not hesitate. While modest in size (estimate ~400 sf, excluding deck), design in layout and appointments are perfect for the property (Driftwood Cottage). It balances upscale and comfort while avoiding any sense of fussiness. Our hosts were gracious and welcoming -- they provided restocking of paper supplies as needed along with fulfilling some miscellaneous requests. All low key and efficiently. Just what we were looking for --and the best vacation in the area we've ever had. We've spent time in HMB each summer for the past 4 years--having stayed at the Beach House, Cypress Inn and Landis Shores -- with a priority on the "ocean front" experience. By far, this property offered the best atmosphere, views and overall comfort. We were actually sad to leave.

Perfect cottage.....perfect setting

This little gem of a cottage is absolute heaven. I watched the sun go down every night, slept better than I have in years, and awoke each morning ready to sightsee. The bed was snugly warm, and comfy, with an incredible view. The only sound you hear are waves on the marine reserve below. Our host and hostess were spot on with dinner recommendations. If we needed anything, they were there to help. I'm glad they shared with me their little slice of heaven.

Paradise

Awesome view, adorable cottage, everything you need at your fingertips, close to attractions, relaxing. Everything we hoped it would be and more! Loved exploring the tide pools at low tide, seeing seals on the beach and walking the trails nearby. Could have sat on the deck and watched the ocean all day! Loved it! Hope we can return soon! Thanks for sharing your little piece of paradise!
