Welcome to the Hotter Otter, a stunning 6-bedroom, 6.5-bath oceanside retreat in Salvo on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. This spacious 3-story home sleeps 16 guests and features a private heated pool, hot tub, and breathtaking Pamlico Sound views from the 3rd-floor deck.

MAIN LIVING AREA (3RD FLOOR): The open-concept 3rd floor features a fully equipped kitchen with granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a large island, flowing into the dining room and family room. Step onto the expansive deck to enjoy panoramic sound views and spectacular sunsets. A permanently installed baby gate provides added safety at the stairs.

ENTERTAINMENT: A dedicated game room includes a pool table, 65-inch smart TV, and comfortable seating. Every bedroom has its own TV for maximum comfort. High-speed WiFi keeps everyone connected throughout the home.

BEDROOMS: 5 of the 6 bedrooms are en suite with private bathrooms. The home offers a variety of bed configurations to accommodate families and groups of all sizes.

OUTDOOR LIVING: The private heated pool and hot tub are the perfect way to relax after a day at the beach. The home is located in the Wind Over Waves subdivision, which features a private boat ramp and sound access for kayaking, kiteboarding, paddleboarding, and wind surfing.

PET FRIENDLY: We welcome your furry family members (dogs up to 80 lbs, max 2 pets, pet fee applies).

LOCATION: Situated in Salvo on Hatteras Island, you are minutes from pristine uncrowded beaches, world-class fishing, the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, and charming OBX villages. Enjoy easy access to local restaurants, shops, and water sports outfitters.

Wonderful stay at a great property

Chris is a great host. Very communicative and works hard to make everything work great. The house is really nice and a wonderful location. Our family had a great time. The pool is great and the beach is a short walk. Highly recommend and we would like to come again!!

Wonderful and very helpful host. Always very responsive on both phone calls and text. Spacious and comfortable beds. Beautiful views both during days and sunsets. Very kid friendly house and safe neighborhood. Easy access to beach. And fishing dock.

We loved our stay here. The location was perfect for accessing the beach and the guys and kids enjoyed fishing off the pier at night. The bedrooms and bathrooms were perfect for our extended family of 16. When the third floor had an AC issue Chris was prompt in getting someone out to fix it. Highly recommend.

minor details

Overall, this was a very nice house for a large family. However, the owner needs to be more active in the care and housekeeping of the property. When we arrived the floors under the beds were raising a family of dust bunnies and several of the bathroom counters tops had sand on them. We brought these issues to the owner's attention and for the most part they were resolved. Be aware that the beach is, when you get to the beach access, is still 200+yards of loose sand to get through with chairs or any other beach toys.

Very Responsive

The house and location were great, but I want to highlight their responsiveness. Every time I had a question, they responded quickly. That was even more important when the first car of my group arrived. They had trouble figuring out where to enter the code to enter the door, even though the keypad was on the door. I wasn't there so I couldn't help them find it. I sent a message to the owner asking for help, and they responded quickly. They directed me to a website with a picture of the keypad. I sent that to my guests and they got in quickly. Please keep in mind, the keypad is right on the door. I still find it funny they could find it.
