Brice Sea Shell Stay - charming Jekyll Island duplex short walk to beach

Cute, traditional Jekyll duplex featuring 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. Recently updated and redecorated, this unit is the perfect getaway spot for a week at the beach!
The primary bedroom has a queen bed, and there are twin bunk beds in the second bedroom. There are also 2 full futons in the living room for additional sleeping space.

A fully equipped kitchen, including a dual drip/pod coffeemaker, ensures all of your cooking and serving needs. There's also a great sunporch for lazy-day reading or playing a game of cards and a shower for rinsing off after the beach. There's a covered patio that's perfect for grilling. (This unit does not have a dishwasher.)

Linens (sheets and towels) are provided with this unit, as well as a starter set of paper towels, toilet paper, and dish soap. These items will not be replenished during your stay.

This is a pet-friendly unit. NO SMOKING.

Pool Privileges are provided at Days Inn & Suites.

Roaches in house

First of all, there were roaches in the place and when brought up to management, they said they would send an exterminator out but noone showed. The extra bathroom looks more like a camp bathroom with old cabin bathroom type fixtures and light is a pull pin above the mirror. Just not what I expected. Most everyone wouldnt use the bathroom since you have to go through the sunroom to get to it and we found tree frogs in there. Duplex was a good location to everything but not somewhere i would feel comfortable in again. Also, no dishwasher.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. From the convenience of check in to the beautiful decor, everything was perfect. The walk to the beach is shady and nice. There’s plenty of parking and room to turn around. The yard felt private when enjoying family time in the evenings. Kitchen was well stocked, except for a dishwasher but that wasn’t a huge deal to me. Loved it! Will definitely return.

This was a great vacation house for our family of six and our two small dogs! We enjoyed the fact that it was steps away from the beach. We would definitely recommend upgrading the extremely squeaky master bed as others have said. The bedroom doors are both slatted.

The decor has a nice coastal feeling. This was the most well-stocked kitchen I’ve ever seen in a rental unit. It is the best home away from home on the most perfect little island!

Great location, close to beach and biking path right outside your door, good price, updated look/furnishings, kid's liked the bunk beds. We had some issues with the doors (opening, or even opening all the way (patio door)), keep in mind the kitchen does not have a dishwasher, and there is not much counter space, so we had to keep up on the washing/drying multiple times a day. The master bed was very squishy/springy/not comfortable, we kept rolling to the center as well - this should be replaced. And there is only one nightstand in the master, which could easily be remedied by the owner. There were also zero (and I mean zero) hangers in any of the closets - they brought one pack over after our first weekend in the unit (waited until regular business hours). . .so we had to live out of our luggage until then. Also, the unit has vaulted ceilings, which is great, but the fans are switched up at the fan itself, so unless you climb up on furniture/beds, you can't control it. I let their maintenance know they needed to get chain extenders for the fans/lights so that someone can reach them from a regular standing position (and I'm tall).

This beach cottage was such a comfortable stay for our family of 5. The kids had their own room with bunk beds and my husband and I had our own room. We spent most of our time out and about on the Island but for the short times that we spent in the cottage, its was perfect for us! Convenient location and the bike trail is just one street away. Easy beach access options as well.

Jekyll Gem

Despite being on Beachview Drive, it was very quiet. The apartment was clean, comfortable, and nicely updated. The kitchen is well equipped. The second bedroom is small with no furniture and the bunk beds are more suited for children. The sunroom is a nice addition but not as well updated. The trees on the property would be a plus during hot summer weather. The location is great being only a short walk to the beach which is not as busy as the resort beaches farther south on the island.

A nice little property a short walk from the beach. The turn in to the driveway was a little confusing but overall a nice place to stay. The dogs loved it!

Never again

This place is as if a couple big dogs rolled around in the sulfur mud and then jumped on every piece of furniture. The sunroom is unusable as it is the worst smelling

Great trip!

We had an amazing time! The photos do not do this property justice! It’s much bigger and immaculately decorated! Only some small modifications, bed in main room mattress is squeaky, an easy fix! Shower rod fell, again easy fix! We used (at another of our properties) a curved one that was drilled in place and allowed for more room! Finally the living room curtain rod fell but again, easy fix! Everything else was better than I expected and we sure do appreciate your hard work and ability to anticipate our needs and have them met before we did! Excellent job! Thanks and see you again soon!

Great location

Nothing fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. A lot more value for the price than a hotel. Having the pool access was nice on the cooler days. We visited all of the beaches on the island but when we parked on the beach for the day we just used the one that was a two-minute walk from the house and we had the whole beach to ourselves.

Beach Get Away

Great location! We loved getting up and walking on the beach or bike path, both so close! While our stay was only three days We had everything we needed! Onsite laundry is a big plus!

Lipstick

Someone did a great job putting lipstick on this pig. Unfortunately, it is still a pig. This is a cinder block 1950's duplex. Kitchen: No dishwasher, no ice-maker LR: Sofa cover has holes and rips, you need a PHD to use the TV Primary BR: bed mattress makes loud noises whenever you move, felt like I was rolling to the center of the bed all night, bed cover has holes and rips BR # 2: bunk beds and that is it, no dresser, no chair, no usable closet (owners lock closet) Bath Room # 2: it is in the laundry room and unusable, the shower has no light, is tiny and cinder block

Great location, nice place

Nice little property. Enjoyed our stay. Perfect for our family of 3. Would definitely stay again especially if both sides of duplex could be rented at same time. Would also recommend to others, not for 2 couples, but definitely a family. Only recommendation I would make would be to suggest a sleeper sofa instead of the futons in living room space but is also not a deal breaker. .

A great place to experience Jekyll Iskand

We had a great stay. Loved riding our bikes and exploring. The location is super! The unit is very clean and is described accurately. We will definitely stay again if we return to Jekyll.

Get away

Loved the location. Only complaint is yard needed a lot of attention. Grass in back trying to get to trash cans was so high !! Walkway to front door from car was difficult to navigate for us old people.
