'Yosemite's Suite Retreat' Little Bear Cottage, Perfect For 2!

Reservation Requirement for 2025
Visitors who plan to enter Yosemite National Park between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Memorial Day weekend, any day between June 15 and August 15, or Labor Day weekend are likely to need a reservation. Visit the Yosemite National Park trip planning website or the NPS App for details, exceptions, and how to make a reservation. This system ensures all visitors, whether they plan in advance or decide last minute, can experience the park each day. It also spreads visitation across the day so that visitors have a better experience.
A reservation will be required to drive into or through Yosemite National Park on some days from May 24 through September 1, 2025, for those driving into the park between 6 am and 2 pm as follows:
May 24 through May 26 (Memorial Day weekend): A reservation is required from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday through Monday.
May 27 through June 14: A reservation is not required at any time.
June 15 through August 15: A reservation is required from 6 am to 2 pm every day.
August 16 through August 29: A reservation is not required at any time.
August 30 through September 1 (Labor Day weekend): A reservation is required from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday through Monday.
Driving through the park will also require a reservation if entering between 6 am and 2 pm. If you are planning to visit after peak hours, please do not arrive before 2 pm; vehicles blocking roads will be cited.

'Yosemite's Suite Retreat's Little Bear Cottage Perfect for 2 is a unique studio cottage centrally located to 2 major attractions; Yosemite National Park, Bass Lake then endless other outdoor activities in between.
The 'Little Bear Cottage' is 1 level and ideal for two offering a Tempur-Pedic queen size bed.
Come stay in a comfortable, clean room after a day of adventure. Enjoy the fenced patio area with a drink, barbecue a meal or perhaps go back out to one of the many fine restaurants this area has to offer. This cottage offers a well-equipped kitchenette with a small refrigerator/freezer, microwave (please do NOT bring hotplates, cook-tops or griddles) and a large kitchen sink also shared as the bathroom sink. For the stall shower we offer fresh clean towels for your use. This room also features AC, a 32" Samsung SMART TV (no cable) plus wireless internet. This unit is heated by a lovely propane fireplace stove with a thermostat for easy operating. During the warmer months there is a wall air conditioner.

The perfect place

Beautiful place, clean and got everything we needed! And its close to Sequoia and Yosemite national park. I recommended to couples who want a cozy Beautiful place close to the Nathaniel park.

Little Bears Cottage was a great retreat

Sharon’s instructions were accurate. She was available by phone in very prompt manner. She even sent me a requested photo of the cottage’s Coffee maker —coffee matters. She left great instructions and tips inside the cottage. The cottage was clean, bed was good, AC worked fine. Picnic table and barbque under the shelter though we brought her Adirondack type chairs to another spot close by to enjoy our morning coffee and reading with a view of the local mountain. Thank you Sharon. In no uncertain terms, your pricing and availability made our trip to Oakhurst and Yosemite possible.

my own Yosemite stay cottage

Beautiful and cute cabin. I really enjoyed my stay here. Sharon (the host) was quite responsive to my questions. Really nice location about a mile up from the center of Oakhurst and about 35 minutes or so from the Southgate of Yosemite (I take my curvy roads rather slowly). I have no complaints and would recommend this cottage to anyone considering visiting Yosemite. It’s an excellent value compared to the 400 plus per night (I saw some places in the park charging up to several thousand dollars a night!!) you will have to spend if you actually want to stay inside the park.

Perfect little cabin

We had a great stay at Sharon’s Little Bear Cabin. It has everything you need with room to move around. We both had 2 nights of great sleep! We enjoyed our time there.

Perfect little cabin

Cabin has all you need to enjoy the great outdoors. We came from out of state to hike Yosemite. Was a great location with grocery stores and gas stations close by along with being right down 41….not a bad drive up to Yosemite each day! Highly recommend for travelers who do not need all the extras! Host was very friendly and helpful! Definitely will be staying here again when we come back to hike!

Great Stay

Yosemite’s Suite Retreat was as advertised and just what we needed for our visit to the area and to attend a wedding at Yosemite. We really loved the privacy and being in our own space. Found several great restaurants close by. Would definitely stay again. Good communication with host.

The small cottage was just as it was advertised. I kinda wished it had a stove. We made do with the bbq. Was a great setting and comfortable accomodations

Perfect cottage for a visit to Yosemite. Clean comfortable space. The detailed note by the hose could not have been more helpful. We went to two restaurants she recommended and both were fantastic! If we visit Yosemite again we will book again!

Really is perfect for two..

We had a great time staying at the suite retreat! It was exactly as advertised and had everything we needed right at our fingertips. Although the studio is right around the corner from 41 and all the shops you would need, it still feels like you are far away from it all. It is also very close to the park's Southern entrance, Bass Lake, and some amazing hikes outside of Yosemite. Thanks for a great place to call home for our vacation.

Perfect place

My wife and I (as well as our dog) just came back from a two night stay at The Little Bear Cottage. We couldn't be happier with the experience. The cottage offered all we needed: a great bed, kitchenette, and relaxing atmosphere. It's located just 15 miles from the south gate of Yosemite and there are a number of great restaurants in the area. If we ever get back to Yosemite, we would certainly contact Sharon & Mike.

We had a wonderful 3 nights stay at little Bear cottage. Lovely, peaceful location. Easy access to Bass Lake and not to far from yosemite. Lots of places to eat nearby we also made use of the bbq and enjoyed the peace and beauty of the property. Check in and out was super easy. The place was spotlessly clean and Tidy. Super cute hide away and the perfect size for 2. So much more charm than the near-by soulless chain hotels. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend to a friend.

Little Bear Cottage

I was in the area for a couple of days for a gathering in nearby Fish Camp. The Bear cottage was a comfortable , clean, and quiet unit located just off the highway in Oakhurst. It’s located close to restaurants, shopping, and Bass Lake. It’s about 30 min from the South entrance to Yosemite. Sharon, the property host, gave clear instructions for check in/out. She and her husband live on site. I never got to meet them but it was nice knowing that assistance, if needed, was close by. A great stay…would definitely stay again!

This location is FABULOUS and convenient to Yosemite National Park, Bass Lake, lots of restaurants and less than 2 minutes from Oakhurst's town amenities yet we are nestled on 3 lovely acres.
Back in 2004 my partner Mike discovered this “gem” of a property and purchased it before it entered the real estate market and from there, we’ve had quite a journey. First it was an awesome place for Mike to tinker and put his passion for carpentry and pride of ownership to work while we rented to full time tenants. Then in 2010 we found ourselves living here unexpectedly from a remote mountain property. This place offered a lovely country setting yet being very close to Oakhurst’s township, Bass Lake and of course Yosemite. We were only using the Gingerbread Tiny House occasionally for friends and family when my dear friend Kirsty Lebovitz who owns SierraScape Vacation Rentals suggested that I turn the cottage into a vacation rental for two. So I did! That is how Yosemite’s Suite Retreat’s Gingerbread Tiny House came to be! Thank you, Kirsty!

We are an alternative to a hotel/motel, renting a full size home and of course camping! We are NOT a remote mountain property. On our shared 3 acres we have several separate living quarters all unique and loaded with character. They are all separate from each other with each having their own yards and driveways.
